This is my first runDisney event. Do you wait until packet pick up to get your corral assignment or bib number?I'd expect the guide, bib numbers/waivers and corrals about a month before race weekend.

No, they will release them ahead of time. Anywhere from 2-4 weeks ahead of the event. Hopefully closer to 4. You get your bib numbe from your waiver, then can figure your corral based on that if you are doing the challenge or the half. Corrals aren't released for the 5k or 10k. But you can sometimes get a good estimate using last years corral info. This is my first runDisney event. Do you wait until packet pick up to get your corral assignment or bib number?
Thanks! That really helps! I am a huge planner so as we get closer and I am getting more and more anxious to get everything squared away. My DH is being nice enough to take care of our kids and will meet me at the finish line both days. I just want to make it so that he doesn't have to think to get there and meet up.No, they will release them ahead of time. Anywhere from 2-4 weeks ahead of the event. Hopefully closer to 4. And thanks! You just made me feel a little better! When I refer to myself as a runner, I feel like a bit of a poser or sham. Thanks for validating me!
Thanks so much for the help! I have been planning this trip for almost 2 years and after last year I can't believe we are almost there. I will most definitely look that up!@Panikim you'll know when that info is posted. This thread will go nuts.
One thing that helped me a ton before doing my first runDisney race was reading runDisney trip reports. I knew what to expect and it helped me to get excited for the races (still does!). I'd definitely recommend searching for some here on the Dis!
Thanks.Do you run? Then you're a runner. The end. You don't need anyone else's validation.
As for the rule changes, we can't be sure until they are. Whatever they decide, I'm all for whatever keeps us all safe. That is not to say, that I wouldn't be disappointed. I love seeing everyone's costumes. These are the times we live in, and they are doing the best they can for safety.
True, but those event guides were posted 1-2 weeks ago. This change just happened this morning.Thanks.
I was reading the event guides for the WDW marathon weekend and the SW weekend and as of now they still say that dressing up as your favorite character is still allowed for participates and their spectators.

I don't think we'll know until they define what a "costume" is.Hey guys just caught up on the thread. In terms of rD how much is it really going to affect the majority of people? I know a lot of people wear tutus and more "inspired by" running clothes that I guess could be perceived as falling under the guideline of "costumes" and I'm sure there are some who are in full out costumes but since I haven't run a race in Disney I'm struggling to see how large of an effect this will have.

No masks (at Avengers there were plenty of face covering masks, those I believe will now be out).
Do any of you ever run in air quality that is less than ideal? I live in a valley where the conditions are ripe for a "winter inversion" (basically its when a layer of cold air gets trapped under a layer of warm air that acts like a lid and keeps all pollutants in our valley until a new storm sweeps everything away). Since this is my first winter training for a race, it's my first time dealing with this while trying to run. I just can't imagine doing my scheduled 11 miles tomorrow on the treadmill, but it makes me wonder if running in the bad air is actually worse for me than not running at all! Any advice?
Face masks b/c of safety. Except I think it's for facial recognition.
So have my first race tomorrow since February. Looking forward to the pressure that a race carries. It is just a 5k but I am excited!
