Official 2016 HHN-26 Thread

Wow their website is a mess. I get different options and prices depending on which way I go in.

I want tickets for Oct 26 HHN. I already bought park passes through UT so my understanding is that I either have to pay full price or wait to buy the add-on when I'm there already. I'm afraid they will sell out, or the price will change, or the add-on is only available online (because that's what it says on the website). We are arriving Oct 23, so I can buy them that night. Anyone have ideas? Are they likely to be sold out by then? Will they give me the add-on price?

Another question: We are landing at 7:30 at MCO. After getting our luggage and doing our transfers I figure we will get to our room around 9 or so. Would it be worth it to go on Sunday night? Are they open until 2 am?

oct 26 is a wednesday.
do not worry about a sell out.
it is a work day and the hhn event closes earlier on weekdays (1:00)
and it is a school day so is the next day/Thursday. ( don't know when hell week is this year but will check the sites to find out)

I have found that wednesdays have lower crowds but ends at 1:00 am
all you have to do is to show you have a day ticket then you can buy the add on hhn ticket in the park.
you can buy that add on ticket anytime, better to buy once you are in the park even though you won't be doing hhn until days later.

Do NOT pay full price, buy the ADD ON ticket.

I always bypass the website when ordering tickets for hhn.
I look at it and see what is out there but I call and order by phone.
Pay for it with cc at time of my order.

This works better for me.

Sunday Oct 23 closes at 2:00 am.
All Sundays this year close then.

If you get to your hotel and check in at 9, and at the park at 9:45/10:00, you would still have 4 hours of park time for the houses.
Since the next day is a work day, the parks MIGHT, start to thin out around midnight.
Just a guess on my part but can't really know until the season begins and we see a pattern of the crowds....
if you go Sunday, buy that night and the wednesday add on ticket at guest services.

i use private car service from the airport to the hotel.
once i land, get the luggage, i can be at the hotel usually within 45 minutes.
I would think you would be in your room earlier than 9.

If you are running late, call the hotel and give them approximate time you will be checking in.

Thanks! We are using private car service, but also making a quick grocery stop- water and soda and a bag of chips for the room. Although with the free filtered water in the parks, we might just skip that and pay the extra for soda at the parks. The free filtered water is a fabulous perk. (I'm ALWAYS thirsty due to medical reasons, so beverages are a bigger concern for me than they would be to the average person).

So I think our best bet is to wait until we arrive Sunday night- see what time it is and how we feel, then make the decision. I don't know that we will even be doing the houses- just want evening access to the park really. We might do a show or 2? I assume those don't have actual lines besides waiting for them to open the show arena and filtering in? Or are they so packed that you have to plan ahead for those too?

that would work
do the two shows and just walk around the scare zones to get the feel of the atmosphere.

if you have had a long travel day, you might just want to check out city walk for a meal or one of the hotels for a late dinner

then you could be up early the next day for the EE for hotel guests.

First time at HHNs. I heard that the actors cannot touch you in the Houses or in the Scare Zone. Is this true? What if you get scared, and your reflex is to swing at them? Not trying to hurt anyone, but my wife has that reflex and if she makes contact will anyone get In trouble. Has anyone else has that issue and reaction? I would hate to spoil a fun night or hurt anyone. Thoughts? :crutches:

You swing and hit a scare actor, you can/ will be arrested

UO will press charges

I have seen this happen a lot.
Zero tolerance against physical attack on an employee

UO hires a high number of Orlando's boys in blue for Hhn

Sorry missed your first question
Yes, the SA can not touch any of the park guests

They could/ would lose their jobs if they grabbed you

Hold your wife's hand/ arm when you go thru the houses and scare zones to avoid her from touching the SA by the reflex she might have

Hello everyone!

It's my first post here and first time at HHN, too! I'm Jose from Barcelona, Spain.
I'm visiting both Disneyworld and Universal parks in October for the Halloween events. I'm trying to get a 3-day park-to-park admission with unlimited express pass combo plus the preselected date (10/26) add-on for HHN (55,99$), but the webpage throws an error message when I want to add my tickets to the cart. This error doesn´t show if I select a flex add-on ticket (72,99$). I know it's not a big difference, but I'd rather spend this extra money on merch or drinks ;) Anyone else with the same problem? Thank you!

Hey! I'm having the exact same problem as masmixer (#28)

Trying to buy online a 3-day park to park admission with unlimited express combo ticket for 2 people, plus the preselected date add on for HHN. I get the error message about needing day time admission tickets (which I have already selected) but don't get the same error with the Sunday-Friday flexi ticket. Which is weird, because don't they have the exact same restrictions? The only difference I can tell is that one is flexible, and one you have to preselect the date...

I've read a few people say that the website is crap and to just ring to book tickets, but we're already overseas and do not have easy access to a phone, so buying online is really our only option if we want to buy tickets in advance. Sounds like there are currently some problems with the website, should we just wait? Or maybe risk it and buy the daytime tickets online, and wait until we get there to buy the HHN add on? I'm worried about them selling out as we need to go on Halloween night 31/10 (itinerary already locked in) which I am assuming is a busy night?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the advise. HHN I know will be a lot of fun. We really just expect to have a good time and get a good laugh out of getting frightened! I really can not wait.
:scared1:
As long as she knows that no one will touch her and holding her hand while we walk through the scare zones and houses should help. I really can't see her swinging her arms if I've got close to me.

Jmho but their website appears to also be a work in progress. Seems like they jumped the gun releasing the tix info and price glitches are popping up which then are making it impossible to check out properly.

Since you can't call, I'd keep checking the website for a few days, maybe the dust will settle by then.

You don't want to wait too long as Halloween could sell out.

first time at HHN and booked for 26th october which is a wednesday also bought the express pass, how manic it is it that close to halloween we cant stay untill closing as we will be putting grandchildren in onsite hotel club, thanks in advance

I'm planning fir the same night. The general consensus is that it shouldn't be too bad with it being a work/school night. It'll be our first time too.

UO is still working on the Hhn price set up for the computers

AP rates were not in the system when I booked my private tour so I paid full price
Once the AP rates are in The system, I will get a refund of the difference to my cc

Think you are caught in the middle like I am
I have no complaints on waiting for the credit refund and thrilled I was able to book

You can send an email to UO and explain as you did here or wait and retry your purchase again

Or you can buy the 3 day ticket online and buy the Hhn add on ticker at guest services once you are in The park

At guest services show your day ticket pass and you can buy the cheaper Hhn add on ticket
It is not an issue to buy the add on ticket later

I go on Wednesday also
Lowest crowd for Hhn in my opinion
Also had the ep
Finished all houses and Bill/Ted show by 10:15
Will add I did the early start by staying in the holding pens in the park

How do you get into the holding pen? Is there a specific area you could tell me to go to? Or is it obvious once you're in the park?

When the park closes at 5 at the studios walk to one of the holding pens
Your Hhn ticket will be scanned so you are allowed to stay
You can not leave the restricted area you are in until the park reopens for Hhn
It takes some time but those in finnegans will get a wrist band so they can stay in the holding area after they are done eating
No wrist band then you are escorted out of the park

I stay in one of the holding areas
The line outside the park has people lining up around 4:30 on most days
They don't have a day park ticket so they wait to get in the park with their Hhn ticket
And all have to go thru the metal detectors then
And they wait until about 6:15-30 to be let into the park

You can see them on a map or be directed to the closest holding pen

I like the one by potter or Simpsons or finnegans if I am eating there

Simpsons has more seating a available
I hate standing for an hour waiting for Hhn to start

Thanks for your advice. I sent the same message to UO. Their answer could take up to 10 days since they are very busy. I'll try to calm down and wait a few days more until the system gets fixed. I see 10/26 is a very popular date in the forum! Hope you all get your desired tickets!

i thought of something.
can you buy the 3 day park combo (with express) tickets online?

if so, go for it.

you can then try to order the add on tickets and give a reference to the confirmation number you got when your ticket order went thru.

like i said before, you can do the add on hhn tickets once you are in the park if that is the issue.
