We actually have enough DVC points this year to stay at the Grand California and I think I'm more excited about that than the race. LOL. We've stayed at Paradise Pier before too and it's great. It makes everything so much easier. You only live once, right?

I was surprised at Rock n Roll San Diego that RunDisney was at the expo and offering $25 off registration for the half marathon race.

They're really having problems filling slots, huh?

I heard that! Wish I was there just to take advantage of it for Avengers. Ha. Free swag I heard too. Tote bags and things ...

@Kathymford - Yep - big tote bags and some backpacks were given out. I asked if I could get a $25 refund for my Dumbo Registration and the guy said "no way!"

I really was hoping they were doing some "early" registration for Princess and Star Wars. No dice. They were really trying to promote Avengers half... but I think they're realizing that Avengers may be tough to fill because RNR is having that Vegas race the same weekend as Avengers. And let's be real - most sane people won't try to run both in the same weekend.

I really was hoping they were doing some "early" registration for Princess and Star Wars. No dice. They were really trying to promote Avengers half... but I think they're realizing that Avengers may be tough to fill because RNR is having that Vegas race the same weekend as Avengers. And let's be real - most sane people won't try to run both in the same weekend.

I know some people actually did that the inaugural year, but we know how crazy people get with inaugural anything Disney. It seems like they might have to think about moving the weekend a week or two; maybe the weekend before W&D. They can't compete with RnR it seems. Although I would have thought different audience, but who really knows.

I've been getting the Ghost Post packages and it was mentioned (via a question to the Dead Letter Office) that those of us that wanted to experience the special trips should do so before it closes down mid-August for Jack's visit.

Last year it was closed Aug 24-Sep 10 for the installation of Haunted Mansion Holiday.
