Official 2016 Disneyland Half Marathon Thread

I would love to but thursday we don't get into long beach airport until 3:40 and we have paint the night dinner package at 6:45, so friday or saturday works best for us too.
OK - anyone up for a get-together?

Last year, we did a Dole Whip meet-up on Thursday afternoon and then I bought a round of drinks at Sonoma Terrace on Sunday afternoon. I'm super happy to host either event again! Anyone down for a race-weekend meetup??

Sure! Both sound fun. :)

Love to. I'll be in around lunch on Thursday, so most any time after that works for me.

Me!!

I did for Tink and it was SOOOOOOOOOO easy. Call for an Uber on the app when you get to baggage claim and it will tell you to walk out to a certain numbered pole (trust me, it's more like a MASSIVE pillar), and then my Uber was there in less that 5. I think it took about 15 minutes from SNA to Paradise Pier. Greatness.

Keels- Can you share how much it was? There will be two in my group and I am trying to compare to Super Shuttle.
Thanks

Sure thing! It was $15.89 from SNA to Paradise Pier (this was at 10 a.m.) and $16.77 from Paradise Pier to SNA (at 4 p.m.)! Hope that helps!

Also, I had to wait less than five minutes for my Uber leaving the airport - which was WAY better than the SuperShuttle I took last year from LAX where I spent at least an extra 45 minutes pickup up other passengers OR dropping other passengers off at hotels before my stop.

Higher-quality look at the Dooney pattern:

Can I just say how jealous I am of the Paris medals! Those medals look awesome and they got to see ALL of them! Fingers crossed they show us the rest of ours soon!

Castle to Chateau is on my list. it needs to happen because it's beautiful.

I'm convinced that there's been some sort of production snafu with the 10K and 5K medals for this race and that's why they're not being shown.

I saw the Remy medal and just squealed for a half-second...the remembered that the 5K has a Country Bear theme and they probably were not the medals I was waiting for. Hee!

Has anyone realized yet how random it is that the 5K theme is the Country Bears and the attraction for the Country Bears was removed for Winnie the Pooh years ago? o_O

(I had no idea that the theme was the Country Bears until now since I wasn't signing up for it...)

@courtneybeth All I can imagine is that they are going for the nostalgia factor. The training shirts have Big Al and Liver Lips in profile, I've worn it once and was fawned over by a big Country Bear fan. Ha!

So just called to try and book World of Color Dessert Party for sept 3rd, since it was still not letting me book. Apparently there is some sort of private party. Grrr.... So just to let you guys all know.

On a side note, I have been slacking on my training, I have been traveling and went to VA. It was to hot and humid for me even in the morning. Now that I am back in Colorado I need to get my butt in gear.

Only 5.5 weeks until race weekend! I am so excited! I was a little bummed to read that Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln will be down for refurbishment and I am having trouble envisioning the train being down and what that will look like but I am still excited because there is always magic to be found in Disneyland!

By looking at it, you can't tell the train is down. They have the trains out on display and you can talk to the engineers and I think go in them too. They just don't actually GO anywhere.

And, the last two times I was there (March and April), you can blow the horn of the train at New Orleans Station (plus cross the tracks to the station on the other side!). I'm not a train person, but it was a brief moment of pure joy. :)

I was fully expecting WALLS WALLS EVERYWHERE! during Tink this year, and I was pleasantly surprised at how it didn't really affect the flow of the races.
