Official 2016 - Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend

Ugh, I'm bummed - I finally scrounged up the money for a Dooney and they're no longer taking preorders. Fingers crossed they still sell them there. I wish we could get an AP discount on them!

I wouldn't worry - the DL races ALWAYS have plenty of Dooney's and the line is relatively short. Plus - you can get an AP discount AND you save money by not having to pay those dumb Active fees to preorder it!

Ahhh! You and @Ariel484 made my morning by seeing this! I was lamenting to DH that I could get an AP discount if I could buy on site in a store. I didn't know you could get an AP discount at the expo! (the only other race I've done was a Tink and I didn't have an AP then)

Yep!! You should be able to use your AP on any official runDisney merchandise. :yay:

Looks like they took the trail portion out, thank goodness...I was almost pushed off the edge last year! It's just way too narrow for that many people.

That's exactly how it felt for the Disneyland Half this year. There were people climbing up the angled walls trying to get around people. So dangerous!

I was at DLR for the Halloween party this last Friday and in the parks on Saturday and just walking around made me so excited and thrilled about the race being about 3 weeks away!!!

For those who have run it before, what has the weather been like it the past?

The first year was W-I-N-D-Y. Mile marker signs blown over. But the temps were nice.

The Fall has very unpredictable weather for us. Like PP said, the first year it was very windy. We have a weather pattern called a Santa Ana here were we get high pressure to the east of us which causes hot dry winds blowing from the desert towards the ocean (opposite of our normal flow). It can be very windy, very dry (humidity in the teens) and very warm. It was in the 90's last week from one. Today it is cloudy, a bit humid and raining a little from a storm coming from the north. The rest of the week is high 70's. In short, Fall is a mixed bag and we could get anything really.

So helpful, I know. :rolleyes1

Oh yes, believe me, I completely know SoCal weather. I live in the Central Valley and we just got done with the 90s but it has been fluctuating like crazy! One day we are in the low 70s, the next, we are back up in the high 80s/90s. We are in the mid 80s right now but by Thursday its supposed to drop to the low 70s and we might even get rain if we're lucky!!!!!! :worship::banana::cool1: I also lived in San Diego for 4 years for college and I remember multiple Januarys where it was 75 and sunny - perfect beach weather!:beach:

I just thought I would see what it has been like for the last couple of years. Hopefully the Santa Anas won't blow too badly - it hasn't been too bad this year from what I have seen on the LA news stations.:confused3

This is the best I could find, pals! This will be where bib numbers, course maps, etc., show up ...

http://track.rtrt.me/e/WDW-SH-2016

I would imagine Monday or Tuesday at the earliest? I'll keep poking around for more.

rtrt.me/shhm is the link for mobile devices.
Apparently this link is searchable now.

Tip that someone passed along in the Wine & Dine thread: You can search by name but it won't give you your bib number. If you search by individual number, you can find yourself.

You can cut your search down using a + mark. For example: 250+ gives you the names of people who are bibs 2500-2509. That way you can at least narrow down your searches. :)

Using the search method listed above, I was able to find my bib number. It seems as though the Half Marathon bibs start a little before 3500. Since I registered so late, I don't think my number corresponds with my proof of time. I guess I will print it out and bring it just in case.

Also, the official 10K and Half course maps are available on that link as well.

Looks like the 10K is nearly identical to the Disneyland 10K from earlier this year.

For those running the 10K, make sure to bring some extra water with you. We only had two water stations and it was nearly at the 5K mark for the DL10K.

I think that runDisney is happy with their east and west coast 10K routes. The Wine & Dine 10K is the same as the Minnie 10K for Marathon Week and the Princess 10K. I guess if it's not broke, don't fix it?

Also the 10K seems to sell out pretty quickly? Maybe they figure if its the same course over and over, people will opt not to run it and new people will get a chance. Obviously they underestimate the power of the bling.....
