Official 2016 5th Anniversary Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend!

10k about to sell out... Says on hold at 2:58 PST

runDisney website still has it at 90% ... but, like you, I'm seeing it On Hold. I'm wondering if rD IT has gone home for the day and we won't see any percentage updates until tomorrow.

Wednesday Morning Percentage Update:
Half - 50%
PDC - 85%
10K - Sold Out
5K - 85%
Kids Races - Sold Out

5k is on hold now. A friend refreshed and managed to register for the 5k and now it's on hold again. She may have purchased the last one

5k is sold out... Looks like same sellout rate as last year... Which probably means pixie will sellout in a couple of weeks and the half will probably go into next month

I'm glad the 5K is finally sold out. Husband kept wanting me to let us register for it...and I was very tempted. Now I can stop thinking about it. :hyper:

Yes, they will. After you enter the parks at least one time, go to Guest Relations and upgrade the ticket to the Premier AP. That way your discount stays intact and you pay the difference in the value of your tickets versus the cost of the Premier AP.

That's what we would always do with promo/discounted tickets at DL. We would use them and before the end of the last day, we would upgrade to the SoCal AP and continue upgrading whenever we needed to enter on blockout days.

So, can you use this method to upgrade a WDW Premium pass to the Disney Premier pass? I don't know if anyone has done it. But I have W/D race in Nov, Christmas at WDW, Princess in Feb, and then Tink in May. For sure renewing (well by then it'll be a completely new one) my WDW AP makes the most sense. But if I can then go to a Premier, it'd help. Of course, I guess I could just use this method and start off at a Premier- but I'm assuming I can do that at WDW too. I've never tried to buy a Premier pass, so I'm a little lost.

I've been on vacation so I've missed a few posts. I ran 11.5 miles right before I left for vacation (longest distance yet), and I ran 2.5 miles every morning during vacation, with an improved pace each day (I did a 8:58 pace on the last day) . Getting back to the grind of work has thrown off my schedule so I have to get back on the horse and get 'em done! I did run 4 miles over the weekend with my boyfriend as he's training for his first runDisney race. I'm hoping I can get minimum of 7 miles in tonight after work.

holy crap, you're fast. When I grow up and become a real runner- I want to run a 9min mile for longer than 1 mile :D

Upgrading APs has always been an option at DL and WDW. If you decide to upgrade at DL, have your original receipt with you so you'll be able to verify the upgrade pricing... and upgrade at Guest Relations outside of DL, not at a Ticket Window.

I've literally been trying to convince my mom the let me do the half for the last two days because it's on my birthday but she says no because I'm already missing five days of school for marathon weekend in January...

You don't even have to miss school! You can fly out on Saturday (or after school on Friday), do the expo and parks on Saturday, then the race Sunday (maybe a little time in the parks after the race), and then fly back home Sunday night and be back in school on Monday!! It would be an intense and probably exhausting trip, but it's doable.

I know but for one I wouldn't want to do just two days at Disneyland for my first time being there and two I don't have anyone to go with. One day I'll run this for my birthday weekend.

To be honest as cool as it is to be in Disneyland the first time you can get most everything done in the parks in a single day (especially if you stick to rides they don't have in Disney World on the rides where the Disneyland version is considered to be "better") if you have to. That being said, depending on where you go to college flying out to California for two days may be a bit ridiculous.

You don't technically start off with a Premier pass anyway. I bought mine in June at DL and they made me start off with a regular AP and then upgraded me from there. The whole process took about half an hour at one of the ticket windows. So I agree...go to Guest Relations! They probably know what they're doing more than the ticket window folks.

That's exactly what I was trying to figure out. Never had a Premier pass, and as a DVC member, my pass has been Premium but voucher based. (DVC usually has a small discount, though there have been some nice ones in past years) So I wasn't sure if I went and got the Premium, used it until May, and then upgraded, if it would be doable. Thanks for the explanation. And got it, no ticket windows. LOL

If you do end up going w/ the Premier pass, you get discounts on food at DL. You get 15% on everything except the carts and a lot of restaurants in DTD do the discounts too, but I forget if it's 10 or 15%.
