"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

We are heading to our first MNSSHP in 8 days!!! There is a group of 9 of us, 4 adults and 5 kids from 7 - 14 , here is what we would like to do.

1. We plan to get to MK at about 4:30 and ride a couple of rides - we have FP for Aladdin's Magic Carpets, POC and BTMRR.
Then one person will get in line for pics with Jack and Sally , while the other get quick service dinner and bring it to the line
2. Jack and Sally
3. 7 Dwarfs
4. Hag from Snow White
5. Parade
6. Fireworks
7. Jafar
8. Minnie, Donald, Daisy
9. Hocus Pocus Show

Will also need to allot some time for SOMK card and shopping.

Would love any feed back and comments - Is this going to be possible? Should I give up hope of Jack and Sally and the 7 Dwarfs all in one trip

Does anyone know when you can start buying MNSSHP merchandise - will they be selling it at 4:30 when we get to MK or do you have to wait until 7:00 pm when the party starts?

I saw someone asked before celebrate the magic was different and I have to say yes it is they have new segments at least for the party night as I know and love celebrate the magic like the back of my hand and was pleasantly surprised when I saw the new projections on the castle

So is the 2nd parade ANY less crowded? Still can't figure out how to get to see parade, fireworks, HP show and still get the benefit of ToT later in the evening. It's driving me (and as a result, DH) bonkers. Going Tuesday 10/6

Last Friday, the 2nd parade was not crowded at all. We watched it from Main Street.

FPs for that evening were hard to get, but we managed Space Mountain 3:30 - 4:30, Thunder Mountain 4:30 - 5:30, and Haunted Mansion from 5:30 - 6:30. Pending all the characters we want to meet and their queues. (Jack and Sally have an early meet at 5:30, so I hear.)

From what I've read here people start lining up for Jack and Sally as early as 4:00 or 4:20 to meet them at 5:30, which is in the middle of some of your fastpasses...but generally most rides will be walk on or close to it during the party (Haunted Mansion may see a little bit longer wait...and SDMT) so if you aren't able to use your fastpasses, you should still be able to get the rides in. It just depends on what is more important in your planning (rides or characters)! If you go back through the last 20-25 pages of the thread you should see some people's party reports and get a sense of what can / cannot be accomplished in one party

With the rides you have planned, you won't be to storybook circus until at least 5:30 and the line will be full by then. This weekend they came out at 5 because the line was already full. And the line for the Dwarfs starts building about the same time.

I was surprised the first time it happened! They changed it the same week the that parties started, so it could be hard to realize if you don't watch it really frequently

Someone earlier in the thread mentioned that people with paper tickets would not be given cards and that their FPs were useless.

That was me...CMs were sending folks with paper tickets to the last lines on the left hand side of the party check-in. The CMs there had ipads and were reading the barcodes right off the paper print outs. They did not hand us a hard plastic ticket. Oh well. We got to ride the few rides that were closing at 6, so it didn't matter to me.

anyone know if the one day memory maker is available yet?

I asked on the 27th at the ticket and transportation center and the lady said no. I told her that it was a shame that an official Disney social media site posted that it would be available. I said if it wasn't available until the Oct parties, it should have never been posted. I also said that Disney knows these events are planned each year, so why is it so difficult to have a service like the one day memory maker set-up in advance too. I said it wasn't like Mickey Mouse called the CMs and said "I want to put on a Halloween party this year!" It's the XXth year for this party?" The CM was very nice. I told her I know I know it was out of her control, but it would be nice to pass along the displeasure.

We are staying offsite and do not have magic bands. We have paper tickets for both our MNSSHP nights. We also have FP+ booked for both nights.

If we take those paper tickets to guest services at DTD before our party nights, do you think they will swap out our barcoded paper tix for RFID hard tickets? This should eliminate any issue with FP+ and the paper tickets, correct?

Not smitch, but that's what I'd do. I don't think you need to go to Guest Services, though. Just hit any ticket window and they should be able to issue you an RFID ticket.

do not recall near this many people at either party we attended last year, Sept 12th around 5 pm and Sept 14th around 4 pm.

Lines went pretty smooth except the occasional person trying to enter with a regular day ticket. No finger scan needed. After the Mickey readers were several lines to get a wrist band.

If you wanted a photo in front of the Mickey flowers it was roped off and had photo pass photographers, but we decided not to wade through the lines to get there.

356 we stopped for several poses of castle pics, had a camera snafu (mine) and then we're on our way. Not crowded.

Made it to Tea Cups by 403, for fast pass that expired by 410. Didn't really need a fast pass, but since we were wonderland characters it was our desired start for photos etc.

Not smitch, but that's what I'd do. I don't think you need to go to Guest Services, though. Just hit any ticket window and they should be able to issue you an RFID ticket.

Our resort is close to DTD, so its easiest to go there. Is there a ticket window at DTD?

I will post back and let you know how it goes. We arrive on the 10th so we'll probably try to swap out the tickets later on our arrival day.

Yes you can book in the 4-7 window, but the fastpasses that day end at 6:30 so you will need to do something like 3:15-4:15, 4:20-5:20, and 5:30 - 6:30.



It won't deduct a day off of your 6-day ticket. When you go to enter the park at 4:00 (or a little before there are separate lines for party guests and the band reader at the entrance is set to just be for party tickets.

As a followup to my post above, remember that your "ticket" is really just an electronic record that can be redeemed in various ways--via MB, a card, or in your case, a printout. But if you lose that redemption medium, it's extremely easy to have a replacement medium issued to you, as long as you have a record of the ticket. Back on our second trip before MBs, I actually forgot our tickets, which were purchased from UT. Luckily for me, though, I'd made a copy of the backs of the tickets (per advice here) so had a record of the ticket numbers, which is really all that's important to Disney. Our resort concierge was able to look up and verify our ticket numbers based on the printout and then reissue them to us on hard ticket media (in our case, since we were onsite, a KTTW card).

So worst case scenario is if you get a CM who refuses to issue you an RFID card for whatever reason, politely leave and go to another ticket window and this time tell the CM that you forgot your printout and don't have access to a printer. They'll verify your identity and look up your ticket information in MDE and issue you an RFID card. I think, though, if you explain that you don't have MBs but do want to redeem FP+, then no one will hassle you about issuing an RFID card instead of using the printout. It looks like the poster above didn't ask to have an RFID card issued and just accepted that the FP+s would go unredeemed.
