We attended the party this past sunday, the 27th. This was the third year in a row for us at sold out parties and I thought it was much more crowded. It was hard to move anywhere, and definitely felt more crowded than it was during the day. And I agree with others, it totally felt less "festive" this year.
It poured for about an hour, causing the first show to be cancelled and a lot of the character meets to be delayed. We waited in the Pooh line for over an hour and no one showed. I'm still upset about this, because no one bothered to come tell us (and the rest of the people in the huge line) that they weren't coming out. No horseman for either parade, although I try not to be upset about that because I know the rider, not Disney, makes that call for his and the horse's safety.
The CMs seemed clueless. I heard one tell someone the party was cancelled due to rain. Another said the fireworks were at 9:30. It took us three tries to find one who could tell us where to get party bands inside the park, and one even told us we needed the hard tickets, that scanning our MBs wouldn't work. This one also argued I needed a ticket for my two-year-old. Gheez.
The crowds on the Hub and Main Street were insane. I was cussed at twice and physically pushed out of the way at one point. I barely saw any of the Hocus Pocus show because I was constantly being jostled around. Crowds were lined up for both parades early, even in Frontierland.
We did find the candy lines moved pretty quickly, and our kiddos were given large handfuls.
I think this is the last party for us, at least for a few years. I really don't think it's worth the money anymore - disney keeps upping the price and reducing the experience, and I'm not paying for that anymore.
