"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

So, we have our tickets, we're excited, we're dressing up. But I must say, I don't know 100% what we're in for.

How do the character meets work, as in - when will we know who will be there and where? By waiting in line for a character, what are we missing?

Are trick or treat bags distributed, or should we pack our own?

What are some tips we MUST know, or what are MUST do on party night?

Re Belle Costume: You can probably get the basket and a cheap book in a dollar store.

Re MNSHHP Questions: Last year Kenny the Pirate had a guide that told where the people would be and I think the only ones that would cause you to possibly miss things are the ones with huge lines like the dwarves and jack. They give out small little bags, I bring a larger one with me. Tip: Parades have a surprise about 15 mins before them!

Hi everyone, I have a party ticket for October 1st! :cheer2: I'm wanting to meet Mickey and Minnie in their Halloween costumes at Town Square Theatre - if I make a fastpass for sometime between 4 - 7, will they already be in their costumes, or will it still be talking/regular Mickey? I would assume they're only in their costumes after 7pm when the party officially starts, but I thought I'd ask anyway. Anyone know what time they get changed?! Thanks in advance.

ETA: I haven't been to the Halloween Party since 2012 (where we met Halloween Mickey and Minnie at Town Square Theatre) - so please correct me if this is no longer where you meet them!

Hey, I love your trip report!

I think Mickey in his costume is hit or miss before the party starts. Minnie meets separately somewhere in the Storybook Circus land. Last year we saw Mickey with his costume about an hour before the party started. But I wouldn't really count on that. Probably what I would do is line up for more rare characters around 6:30 and maybe sneak in to meet Mickey right before the first parade starts.

I'm hoping for a little feedback on which party people think would be the best one to attend this year- the first party on the Sept. 15th (Tuesday) or 18th (Friday). I'm leaning towards the 15th, but the 18th would be most convenient as we will be staying at the GF for that part of the trip (staying at BWI first part). Will crowds on a Tuesday versus on a Friday be that much different in the beginning of the party season? TIA!

We are in for 11/1! My husband and I are taking our daughter for her 10th bday fri- mon and leaving her little brother and sister at home with grandparents. We will take each for a special weekend alone for their 10th bday. We hope it's a special time alone with both of us that they always treasure. Does anyone know what happens at DTD halloween night? Or at the value resorts? Staying at all star movie....

I believe both will be about equal. The first party (9/15) and Friday (9/18) parties are busy, but not like the October parties though. I've never done the first party before but read on here it can get pretty busy. We are doing both of these parties that week. We can never seem to get done all the things we want to in one night. Plus it's so much fun!

Thanks tony609! You rock! Lately I've been thinking going to both parties would be the best solution! I think that is a FABULOUS idea :tiptoe:

Quick question- our plan for our party day is to go to MK in the morning (bc my kids won't sleep in ever), got to BOG at 11:10 & when finished go back to AOA to rest. Since we are going Frozen themed I am hoping to do A&e before party bc for the pics (hoping for fast pass)- but I know that all party people are doing them between 4-7. So if we aim to get back to the park at 3- will they let us in in our costumes? (Tix not an issue since already using one in a.m.)

We have gotten in at 3 with costumes. We used our regular park tickets to enter at that time. Only thing is not too many people were dressed up at that time.

Your welcome. We always go twice. Between the parades and fireworks (I like to see them twice) and all the characters along with the fact most rides are usually a walk on or have little wait, the shopping for party specific merchandise, the atmosphere a little bit of trick or treating we can't get it all done in one party!!!

I finished my Rapunzel costume(which came out better than even I had anticipated) so tonight I'm measuring myself and ordering my Sleeping Beauty gown. Still need to get the pattern to make DBF his Prince Philip costume.

I feel like I know this, but fake swords are not allowed? Like, I may make a fake sword and shield for the Philip costume but I'm presuming they can't come with us, so I want to make them for other times we wear the costumes.

Perfect, thank you! I thought so but recently saw someone say no one was allowed in with costumes until 4 and started getting worried!
I don't mind being one of the only ones dressed up- I once went to NYC with a full beard and mustache made from real hair for a competition- I walked around NYC bf the competition and even went to a diner to eat- the stares and comments were hilarious!! (A waiter even asked if it was real)!! I'm ok with sticking out :)

Sword and shield are fine as long as they don't interfere with anything or anyone. They sell them in the park.

I just pulled the trigger and got tickets for 9/15 and 9/18! Sooooo excited!! Now, to try and finally figure out what we're going to dress up as :confused3

Yay! We are doing both those nights as well! I'm excited!
