"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

is the magic maker available for 1 night? we are going on Halloween so I assume, the crowds will be outrageous. Also how will I know wether to use my bands or paper tickets for the party

We have plans for the halloween party on the 31st already. We are doing the dessert party that night and the only other real plan outside of those events is for trick or treating. I will be 37 weeks pregnant and we have a six year old so thats probably about all we can handle. I'm wondering if we should add tickets for the 29th too and plan to meet a few characters as well as do some rides and walk around. I'd really love to wait until we get there and make a decision same day or the day before but I'm guessing this party is going to sell out.

I am so excited for our party on Friday!

I am trying to plan out my schedule for seeing Celebrate the Magic, Fireworks (in pretty good spots) and the second parade (preferably in Frontier land so we can scurry on over to a ride right after it ends to get short lines) then come back and finish off the night with the Hocus Pocus show!

Any advice on timing for when we should try and get a seat before Celebrate/Fireworks and where should it be (a map would be SUPER helpful!)? I am completely okay with battling the crowd to get to a good spot for the second parade. I was thinking that since we are only two people, our spots can be reserved during the parade and one person go out and grab candy and we can switch off and use that as our trick or treating time. Or is that rude and hoarding spots?

Thanks for all the advice!

Also anyone going to the party Friday, look out for Kuzco the Emperor(ess) and Yzma ;)

So funny, I was just sitting here thinking of adding another party as well! We have tix for the Nov. 1st party and the dessert party. The only other night available to add is 10/29! I would really love to see the stage show but it seems that is always going to be packed and adding another party won't make a difference....also u r right the 29th will most definitely sell out! What to do what to do!

For a GREAT map go to Kenny the Pirate's site. His map has the parade route, the character locations, and some photo op places.

Oh my goodness..so I'm going to have to stake out a spot for the parade and show more then an hour before!? I was thinking 1 hour would be ok but holy moly. I don't mind waiting but this is making me nervous now. I am mostly excited about the show, parade, merch and jack and sally. I got all the characters last year so I'm not planning on doing any m&gs unless I have time. Oh man oh man. Lol.

This Friday sold out too???

I was going to wait until after we got there, but I guess I'll go ahead and buy my tickets for next Thursday right now. I don't remember so many September parties selling out so quickly in past years.

This was just my personal experience, so take it as you will, however this past sunday (9/20):

For the first Hocus Pocus show, we just happened to be walking by and heard it starting, so stopped to watch for a minute to see if we'd be interested in trying to watch it later. We ended up staying for the whole show. We were off the to right side of the castle, and we could see everything. We moved forward a bit as other people left, but for the most part stayed where we had stopped. Like I said, we stopped at the same time it started, so no wait.

For the 2nd parade, we walked around frontierland and sat down on a bench around 11. We were on the left hand side of the street when walking in from the hub area. We only sat when we did because we were tired, not because it was the only spot left or anything. When it came time for horseman, we stood up and walked to the rope, behind one row of seated people. They were allowed to remain seated the whole time, so we basically had a front row view. While more people did fill around us as the start got closer, it was by no means a crowded area. So again, great view with little wait.

For the fireworks, we were inside the princess meet building when they started. Not even in the room yet, but next in line to go in. Met Cindy and Rapunzel, then left the building and walked out into the path, stopping in a spot right between the castle and BOG. Again, uncrowded and a great (better than main street, in our opinion) view. This was also no wait at all, as we walked up after they had started.

We aren't the stake out a spot for hours type. Any wait longer than 20 minutes feels wasteful to us, especially at a limited time event like this. We figured we'd try to see all the shows, but not at the expense of anything else. So, no pre-planning, no giving up party time, and still saw everything.

That said, Jack and Sally were not an option for us. The wait was just too long and slow. But that was an easy call for us to make. DB didn't care if we met them or not, and though I do love NBC, I've met Jack previously at the halloween party at Disneyland.

Actually I think there might have been just one sold out party in Sept last year!

I think it is because of all of my Disney planning pins. I have three boards full of Disney-related stuff. You can follow me at https://www.pinterest.com/cperkins1968/ if you like. I also pin a lot of recipes, art journals, scrapbooking and planner sites with a few random work-related things.

Every time I have gone to the party I have done two. I still need to get my tickets for Oct. 22 and Oct. 25.

Disney Math is the only math I know how to do!!!
Followed! I'm a scrapbooker too :)

I did it. I added our second party for Sun Oct 4. I'm a bit worried about a deminar I have already paid for at Epcot. It's at 3pm, which means we'd have to head right over to MK afterwards.....I'm worried about a crowd at the turnstiles. Not sure if we should forego the deminar to head over to MK earlier. We have hoppers so that isn't an issue.

Next Thursday is our first party! I feel so much better having bit the bullet on the second party. I will still try to do as much as we can during the first party but I'll have the security of knowing we'll have another opportunity in case we miss something important.

If you see an adult and a tween running around as Haunted Mansion maids in tutus, thats us!

Here's a few pics from the Sunday, 9/20 party:

Forgive me for not going through all the posts but can you make FP+ reservations during MNSSHP? MDE was only giving me times up till 5:30
TIA

Nope, no FP+ during the party. Your FP+ can not be for any later than 6:30 so a 5:30-6:30 fast pass would be the latest slot available. Which means your prior two have to be at 3:30-4:30 and 4:30-5:30. Any deviation for that and you can not get 3 FP's for the 4-7 slot.

Well technically you could have slightly different times like 3-4, 4-5, and 5-6 but you'd have to chance losing that first one if you were held up in line or transportation.

(and if you have a day ticket in you could have morning or early afternoon FP+)

It is not currently available but should be available by Halloween.

When we went to the party in 2013, I thought I had found suggested touring plans for the party on a couple sites (KtP, easywdw). I don't see anything like that on their sites this year. Are there any sites that still make these "plans"?

Touringplans.Com has 3 new Halloween touring plans. They didn't include the big character meets in them so I don't know how useful they will be.

If we go to MK around 1pm before the party starts using a regular park ticket, can my kids wear their costumes then (tween style minnie mouse and luke skywalker) or do they need to wear regular clothes since we are coming in prior to the party? (we have MNSSHP tickets too) Also, will we have to go back out to the gates at 4pm to get our wrist bands for the party or can they do it all when we enter? Thanks
