"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

When we went to the party in 2013, I thought I had found suggested touring plans for the party on a couple sites (KtP, easywdw). I don't see anything like that on their sites this year. Are there any sites that still make these "plans"?

when I had a touring plans subscription last few years they had party plans available, but I found they had outdated information so weren't as helpful as I would have liked. But we had been to MVMCP before 2x and very familiar to MK so did better with MNSSHP plans ourselves. Nervous this year as we only have one party and the initial grim reports...

That one is for DL.

oh great, we'll be @ MHP that night. Was surprised how many nights have sold out there already. Last i checked the party dates before & after 10/5 were sold out.

will be interesting to see how DL packs them in vs WDW. We would always attend MNSSHP on the first Sunday in October. When they introduced a race and gave away a free tix, the crowd seemed to double and every year seemed busier. Was hoping to see a significant reduction this year on dates we hope to attend after Columbus Day.

Sigh. I'm so happy the party that I paid for was a 'trial' Disney better shut up their employees saying this or us first party people are going to get even more mad.

It wasn't clear in the text of my post, but from his tone, he clearly meant that it was trying (difficult). Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Tonight's party is another sell out. As for the one day memory maker, I only know what Photopass told me directly, which was this...

They have not responded to any of my follow up questions.

Hopefully there are other places to get this without going to the TTC. There are people coming in on buses from the resorts and the monorails that will not be going through the TTC. It doesn't make sense to have it there only.

It seems a lot of us are going on October 15th. I hope they have some of the merchandise left by then.

I just noticed on Disney's website that this Friday's party is also sold out. I just bought tickets for that date last Friday!

I checked party dates yesterday afternoon and tix were available. Now it's sold out. Popular party!

:headache:
I am glad to hear how the buses have been to ASMovies after the parties. I will be staying there for the first time in October. Previously my experiences after the parties has been miserable waiting for buses to Pop. I can never seem to get myself to leave early or wait the crowds out. At least now I have an idea what to expect. It sounds like you have been having a blast. I am jealous three parties!

Pop has been getting the double length buses every evening from MK that I've seen so the line for them hasn't been so bad. Yep I'm having an awesome time! Just watched Hallowishes from Cali Grill which was amazing! Hahaha jealous you may be but my bank account is very angry at me

Edit: please ignore the emoji, my phone wouldn't let me delete it!

For those who attended after the 1st night (wherein reports of at least half the guests NOT having wristbands = overcrowding)...

did you notice many w/o the bands or whether the CMs were making an effort to check @ lines/parade routes, etc.?

We do the party every year & really enjoy it. This year, waiting for final confirmation we can extend our vacation to work in a party on 10/12 or 10/13. I was starting to 2nd guess attending after the early dismal reviews.

There were lots and lots of CMs checking wristbands on Friday and they were being very strict but it was quite busy. There were less on Sunday but there were way fewer guests in the park generally

Just pulled the trigger - I'm in! For my first ever MNSSHP, on Oct. 20!

I've got a conference in Orlando that week, and figured out that if I fly in a day early, ME to/from Pop, do MNSSHP flanked by F&W both afternoons before and after - I've got 2 Disney days for only $180!! Woo hoo! (That cost doesn't include food, of course.)

I am STOKED!! Now to go do my MNSSHP homework. . . it's just me, so that makes it simple. No costume ('cuz I'm not into it), no trick-or-treating (again, not into it), but really looking forward to the parade, shows and fireworks!

im worried about the 27th merchandise holding up
i want the party magic band and decided not to chance it and purchased one and will link it up to my account when it arrives

also glad we just went ahead a bought our tickets early as they are already selling out so early in the season

Hi all!

I have been following this thread with interest and I have some questions. It's our first MNSSHP and we are coming in from a hotel on I-Drive via a cab, probably to the TTC before taking the ferry over to MK for 3:30-ish.

I have two tickets for the November 1st party. I have managed to get three FP+s for between 4 and 6:30 but I don't know how I'm going to make them work as we don't plan on using a MagicBand and I only have print outs of the MNSSHP tickets (as we're in the UK).

We have MagicBands linked to our MDE as we were at WDW last year but I don't want to scan them as we will be staying at CBR later in our trip and I want our 10-day park hopper tickets to start during that stay and not sooner. Am I making sense?!?

Anyway, how do I get my FP+s if I have no MagicBand? Should I get into the park using the printed ticket for MNSSHP and then use the MagicBand inside the park for FP+ and MM?

Also, our priorities are Hallowishes, at least one show and a parade, meeting Minnie (she's my fave), lots of Trick or Treating (never been Trick or Treating before) and a ride or two on Haunted Mansion. Maybe meeting the dwarves but we might save this for MVMCP later in our trip. Is this realistic?

Many thanks!
Yay! Fellow UK person :cheer2:And fabulous PUG dress there in your avatar. I have the castle skirt, but really wish I'd bought the Aurora dancing horses before they sold out of my size :offtopic: Anyway...

Are your MNSSHP tickets already linked to your MDE account? If so, you will be able to use your old magic bands without worrying that you will be using your 10 day tickets; just go through the special party entrance where they will tap your band and give you a wristband.

Alternatively just get your hard tickets (like the old hotel room key cards) from the TTC and go in with them. You will be able to use these tickets to tap through in the queue for your fast passes too.

Wishing you a fabulous trip!

I think the CM meant it was a trial on everyone's patience, stamina, etc., not a "trial run."

I don't know anything about the Magnetic Running Buddy but I had to lol about it popping up in your Pinterest feed. If your Pinterest is anything like mine, it mostly contains recipes.......how funny to have something pop up regarding fitness ;)
I think it is because of all of my Disney planning pins. I have three boards full of Disney-related stuff. You can follow me at https://www.pinterest.com/cperkins1968/ if you like. I also pin a lot of recipes, art journals, scrapbooking and planner sites with a few random work-related things.

I am seriously considering a second party now......our first party is Oct 1 which is a week from tomorrow! After looking at all of the logistics we'd only be missing Ragland Road for dinner (which is a bummer). This frees up a Table Service credit which enables us to not have to pay out of pocket for a later ADR. This saves us about $125 total (tip plus a little extra at Ragland Road and another TS meal)......do you see what I just did? I rationalized a second party. Now, let's see if dh will see it this way, lol!:rolleyes1

Someone talk me out of this........the party is in my shopping cart.
Every time I have gone to the party I have done two. I still need to get my tickets for Oct. 22 and Oct. 25.

I'm not going to talk you out of it...I just had to tell you that your post this morning...MADE ME SMILE AND LAUGH OUT LOUD!! Doing the Disney Math! I love it!
Disney Math is the only math I know how to do!!!

I haven't used Disney transportation in about three trips so I haven't seen the double-length buses yet. I remember reading about them coming soon, etc. But I keep finding good Alamo rental rates for about $125 per week for their little tiny Chevy Sparks when I have gone. Perfect for a solo traveler. I have not been able to find a good rate for this trip yet so I am planning on Disney transport. I kind of missed DME anyway.

And, yeah, bank account is already not happy. :rolleyes1

CONGRATS!!

Attended the Tuesday party. Honestly (in contrast to what others have reported) I thought the crowds were ridiculous.

We (2 adults) managed to see Lotso then headed to the dance party for a brief dance session with Smitty and then saw Pooh and friends in their costumes, we saw the Hocus Pocus show ("saw" being used loosely here since the crowds were so large and we were so far back I could only see about 25% of the stage) and then watched the fireworks and parade and on the way out saw Magician Mickey. We didn't have time to get any candy or do any rides.

For the money paid I am a bit dissatisfied. The crowds were crazy in the main street area, just a massive sea of people. I would guess if you were going for short line rides it would work out nicely as the standby times for the regular rides were quite low but we were going for the Halloween festivities so it was hectic.
