"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

Oh you have NO idea! The first thing she said was "I thought we'd all have nice sit down meal around 7pm" :guilty:

The next time she brings that up I'd let her know that the party starts then and you aren't having a sit down meal during the party. That way she knows you won't be doing that although the 2 of them are welcome to do it themselves. Maybe then they'd be tied up with a sit down meal for an hour or so and you can do one or two things without them.

Good Luck!

We went to the Party on Sept. 20. Our goals were to see the parade and fireworks, then ride rides. This was easily accomplished. The only part that we found really crowded was Main Street. We found a great parade viewing spot on a porch in Frontierland 20 min. prior to the parade, and it worked out great. Every ride we went to was walk-on. My DS and my best friend's DH rode 7DMT twice with no wait. The longest wait we had was 10 min. for Peter Pan.

If you want to avoid confrontation, you can do this in a more around about way. Tell her you will take the kids and your husband to see some characters before the meal but then the line got too long and bam, you can’t join your in-laws for the 7pm reservation. They’ll be able to sit down, relax, and have their meals while you, due to circumstances beyond your control, have to miss it.

This is what we really like to do at mnsshp! is it too much? you think we can get to all or most of this?
Parade
hallowishes
Hocus pocus show
meet abu, the genie( I hear they do not meet together)
jafar
cruella devil
buzz and lotso
Donald and daisy
pooh and friends
trick or treating

I really need to get a hand on this multi quote stuff. LOL I haven't been to a party yet this year but I think your list of characters to meet is alot based on what I'm reading here.
It sounds like you have to get a parade spot early if you want to be in the front plus waits for characters seem to be longer than in the past since there are less of them.
Maybe if you choose your top 3 characters and then try for the other in order of preference so if you don't meet someone you won't be too disappointed.
On the other hand - you may end up with a fantastic not crowded Halloween Party and could get through them all and then some!

Good luck!

Hi -

I asked a couple of these questions before but it got lost in the discussion of the awfulness of the first party.
1) We are magic band newbies. Do I have to somehow link my party confirmation # to our magic bands or does that happen automatically? If I do, do I in any way risk losing my fast passes? I have been reading a lot about glitches and I get nervous.
2) For those who have been to a party this year, any recommendations for how early we have to get to Frontierland for first row (for DS7 at least, don't care about DH and I) for the parade?
3) One more ... we want to eat around 3p so we don't waste MK time on dinner. Son is gluten free, easiest thing to do for him is usually to get a cheeseburger without the bun. He adores the monorail so I'm thinking we might eat at one of the monorail hotels. Any counter services on the monorail loop that would be a good choice?

Thanks!

This Friday sold out too???

I was going to wait until after we got there, but I guess I'll go ahead and buy my tickets for next Thursday right now. I don't remember so many September parties selling out so quickly in past years.

There were many more September parties before though, right? I wonder if thats why... :(

From the sound of it, I better nix any plans of meeting characters. Those lines sound insane!

I can't help with your other questions, but we love eating Quick Service at the Contemporary. It was a ton of fun when our kiddo was obsessed with trains because you can sit and eat and watch the monorails overhead. Plus, I LOVE the cupcakes there!

I'll ditto this. The Contempo Cafe is one of our kids' favorite places to eat because they can sit and watch the monorail.

We attended the party last year and we received HARD tickets via the mail. We are going again on our trip in October, but the CM said no HARD tickets this year, but rather gave me confirmations #'s and told me to link them to our MDE so they would be on our magic bands. Does this sound right?

When did you order them? We received hard tickets this year, but ordered them back in August for an October party.

No, we received hard tickets in the mail.

I received hard tickets for mine.

I ordered tix a few weeks ago for the October 8th party over the phone and the CM linked them to my account and when I asked if hard tix would come in the mail she said no hard tix just make sure when we enter the park we go through the turnstile clearly marked for the party. This is the first year I haven't received hard tix.

That is pretty much what the CM told me as well. Makes me feel a whole lot better!!!! Thanks so much!

3. I'm allergic to wheat but WDW has some pretty good GF buns and they've been available at every single restaurant (cs or ts) that I've eaten at. So he doesn't have to go bunless at any CS. Contempo café (CR) and Captain Cooks (Poly) were both easy to work with as far as allergies.

1. My party tickets showed up on my MDE account but you should be able to link them using your confirmation # if needed. It won't mess with your FP+.

Yes, that's fine. The CM was wrong in that you could have requested hard tickets, but once you put the confirmation numbers in MDE, you can assign the tickets to the members of your party and then use your MBs for entry.
