"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

Ok, good to know!! So confusing!

In other questions... sorry if I am driving y'all nuts- first timer.... :)

Best spot to watch the parade other than main street? was thinking of catching it in Frontierland or Fantasyland since we are in that area....
Frontierland is good. We watch from Liberty Square.

No, you won't get an additional 3 with your party ticket if you already have 3 for the day. Maybe you could if you purchased the party ticket with an entirely different MDE account, though?

You don't need to purchase the MNSSHP ticket in a different MDE, but you can't have them assigned to the same person in MDE that has the day ticket. So my family "magically" grew from 4 to 8 in MDE, and I assigned the MNSSHP ticket to the "fake" people. We'll just need to use our MBs to redeem the FP+ attached to our day tickets and our MNSSHP physical tickets, which I had shipped to me, to redeem the FP+s attached to those tickets.

The parade doesn't go through Fantasyland.

We typically watch in Frontierland right at the start of the parade (i.e., at the crossover between Adventureland and where Splash/BMTRR are).

The parade doesn't go through Fantasyland. Frontierland is our favorite place to watch from - it's easy to get to Fantasyland after it passes.

question about fast pass and the party. I am planning on using my 3 fp at MK during the afternoon, can I get 3 more with my party admission to make between 4 and 6:30 ish, whatever... but I didn't even try to get 3 for the party?!

You could potentially get a 4th (same day) FP+ after you use the first 3. But only one at a time, and it would be slim pickins the day of from 3:30-6:30 on a party day.

No problem, just adding the detail for anyone who needed to know. Doing the party as the only park that day is the best choice, which is why I like to do it on my arrival day. You get more value out of the ticket by using it on it's own day.

We will also be in parks 4 days - 1 of those days just with the MNSSHP tickets. However, when I log into MDE I do NOT see my MNSSHP tickets listed or linked anywhere. Anyone know how to fix that? I can't make FP+ for that afternoon because the system sees that I only have 3 days worth of passes, and 3 days worth of FP+ ability.

You should have a confirmation on the MNSSHP tickets with a ticket number. Link that ticket to your MDE and they should appear.

How do you use the physical tickets for Fast Passes? We've not been since the new Fast Pass system. Your plan sounds great though. I may have to give us all nicknames and assign our party tickets to those people :)

The physical tickets are RFID-enabled. You just tap them against the Mickey readers (i.e., the FP+ touchpoints) just like you would a magic band. They work exactly like magic bands as far as FP+ and park entry are concerned. Many (most?) offsite guests use the cards rather than magic bands since they don't get the bands for free like onsite guests do.

You just hold them up to the RFID readers, same as you do with your band.

I cant believe its that time of the year again! Although I must admit it seems to be taking forever to get to the 15th so I can see party reports already lol.

I'm so excited to be planning on going again this year..we went in 2013 and had planned on going last year but didnt but I think were gonna go this year..I really missed the fun of it last year. Although not sure what I think of the time changes for everything but I'm gonna go hold off til I hear party reports.
Its going to be my sis, mom, and I going this year and were starting to put a plan together of what we want to do and costumes and such. Were going as a wonderland family. Mom(Alice),Sister (QoH), Me (Mad Hatter). I'm not having any luck finding a hatter costume that I like and fits so think i'm going to pair up my own. :) Not for sure on the date yet. I think were thinking of going on the 4th. My sister is taking AP classes and doesn't want to miss 2 days of school so were thinking of doing Sundays..I just hope there not too packed. When we went in 2013 it ended up being a sold out night (we went on a monday) and I told myself if I did the party again I really wanted one that was a whole lot less crowded...so we'll see. I'm also planning on bringing my DSLR in for the party..I've never taken it to Disney but I really am hoping if I bring it I can get some nice shots of the park and characters..i'm really wanting it to be October already..or atleast next week so I can oooh over others pictures hehe :) :)

Oh, also as I was reading through some of the thread I see a lot asking questions of how easy it is to see the candy spots in the park..here's a picture of the treat stop balloon that I took..that was in 2013 but i'm sure it hasn't changed..but these adorable giant pumpkin lights are stuck out by the beginning of the trail/candy spot so there pretty hard to miss :)

It looks like there are a few locations where it is unknown which characters will be there (i.e. City Hall, Liberty Square). I know Jack & Sally were at City Hall in previous years, not sure who has been in Liberty Square in the past, if anyone. Any guesses or rumors about which characters might fill these locations? Would it be totally crazy to be thinking maybe they've heard people complaining about the lack of characters and there will be some new surprises coming to those locations?
One could hope :)

I always bring my dSLR to the parks.....I can't help myself. It sometimes gets in the way but I know I would just kick myself if I missed a shot because I didn't bring it.

Thanks for that photo, it's nice to know what to look for on the ToT trails!

So I had no idea what Disney bound was......after googling :wave2: I think I understand but wanted to make sure. Is it just making your own costumes with normalish clothes to resemble the clothes of that particular character?

Also, is it a "no-no" to wear your costume the entire day of the party? Or is it just recommended to go back to the resort and change and come back? It doesn't really matter for us because we are probably wearing Halloween tshirts.

I am getting excited we leave in a little over 2 weeks. I am still not sure what hubby and I are doing for costumes! The kids are so easy but us not so much! I need to get on reading this thread for tips! Anything we must know?!?

I also should ask I have 3 smaller kids- everyone said the second parade is the better one but I saw how late it was ( think 11pm?) which they won't make it awake lol so where is a good spot for us to check out the first parade?

I'm hoping for new characters too but I know its not likely knowing Disney..but it would be so nice to see some new cool ones that aren't out (like bullseye or something popular&rare)
Haha i'm shocked that i've yet to bring it to the park..its still pretty new so I haven't wanted to dare take it out of the house..well I want to take it out and then I chicken out on carrying it around all day..and then later i'm like I wish I did..so this year i'm taking..i'm really excited and hope I can get some nice shots..when we went in 2013 I just had my crappy point&shoot and so many of the pics didn't come out...so hoping to resolve that this year even if it means carrying around a heavy camera all night lol. :rotfl:

Your welcome! They are much cuter in person! :yay:

I love Disney bound costumes..they tend to be easier IMO and a whole lot more theme park friendly and sometimes cheaper. When we went we did costumes, wigs, the whole nine yards and it was fun but also hot and uncomfortable..so this year we've calmed it down some and definitely not doing wigs again..and i'm doing a DisneyBound Mad hatter...most of the costumes I could find didnt have the look I wanted..I didnt want to replicate the character but just resemble the Mad Hatter fun bright craziness..so far its much easier finding pieces for it and there things I can wear again (just not all together :rotfl2:) I think a lot of the fun of MNSSHP is being in the park and seeing what everyone else is wearing..people come up with amazing things..esp family/groups!:cheer2:
I dont think Disney really cares if you come in costume during normal hours long as its not too much..they understand some people dont have the ability to go out and change and come back...i'd think long as you dont look like a character or have a really exaggerate costume that you'd be fine...and then by 4 you start seeing lots of people walking around in them :)

We did 2nd parade when we went but now having it at 11:15 is pretty late IMO for people with little ones...but i'd say Main street is the best spot for lighting if you want pics of the parade but its more crowded esp. during 1st. Frontier will be less crowded but darker...I happen to think main street is the more magical spot to view but i've heard of families having to catch a parade spot sooo early on crowded nights..which is insane :(

I'd say a must know is to just put a rough plan together..esp after a few party reports come out because then you know for sure what characters are out and where..and then layout a rough plan of what characters and entertainment you want to hit...if you plan too much it will be a disappointment if you don't get to something..but have a list of must have's...and also if you have a preference to meet Jack&Sally or the dwarves i'd line up early for whichever one is a must meet since there lines run crazy long all night..so if your in the park before 7 (you can get in at 4) i'd line up for them early..normally around 6 or earlier. We do this for the dwarves so it doesn't eat up party time. I'd rather sit for 1hr+ in the sun during non party hours then 2-3 of precious party time lol :rotfl:

Sorry to cut your post short. Since you've done this before, do you have tips for lining up for the Dwarfs in the sun? I'd be fine if we were indoor (sitting options) or under some sort of shade but having to stand in line for them in the sun on hot pavement seems brutal. I'm sure I'll do it anyway but would like some helpful tips. What should I do besides wearing a hat and slathering on the sunscreen? Thanks
