Official 2015 MNSSHP Guest List Thread

So excited to be attending our first MNSSHP on Thursday October 29th. Entire family....me (grandma aka MaryAunt), DD and DSIL, DGDs (7 and 4.5), and DD and DDIL! Undecided on costumes as yet but will post as soon as decided. DGD turns 7 on the 30th, what a great birthday she will have!

Really excited to attend! This'll be the first MNSSHP I've attended as a guest - I worked them all in 2006, back when Liberty Tree had Spider Chip and Bat Dale. My husband has never attended in any way, so it'll be something new for him, too!

He is planning on bringing his Ultra Saber Lightsaber. ( https://www.ultrasabers.com/ ). From what I've gathered, the verdict on the internet seems to be that it would be allowed. Anyone have a definitive answer on bringing lightsabers?

As long as it doesn't stick out or drag the ground to the point that it causes any type of danger or tripping hazard, it will be fine.

So, we finally narrowed down our costume selection to: STAR WARS. DD (5) wants to be Chewbacca; there's no changing her mind. DD (16) thinks she wants to be an Ewok because there's an Ewok hoodie at Hot Topic that she likes. DH and I are undecided. My biggest concern is the heat. Any native Floridians, or MNSSHP experts, have any ideas how to pull off some Star Wars character outfits without having to go in full robes/wookie hair? I was thinking of maybe dressing as Amidala or Leia, using a white tennis skirt and white moisture-wicking tee or tank; then, accessorizing with a home-made belt, DIS bun ears?... Would appreciate any/all suggestions, or ideas. Thanks in advance!!!

are you heading to a later party? they can be chillier actually. Your idea sounds good if your heading to a truly hot one. Both of my costumes were quite hot i made sure to have lots of water on me and they make cooling bands you can buy at home depot or the resorts sell cooling clothes. The bands can be worn under costumes to help keep heat down for the chewbacca/wookie costumes.

Yes, and when the party officially begins. That 4-7 period is to help alleviate traffic at the gates and sell more same day tickets.

It was @rcbarker, but I received a PM from him/her last night with an apology stating the he/she meant no harm. They were hoping to get some for their kids and some of the neighborhood kids. I believe it was sincere. I advised the poster to let a mod know that they meant no harm and to try a public post versus PMing people.
