Official 2015 Disneyland Half Marathon Thread.

I have a question about submitting proof of time. When I did it the other day, it told me my projected time was 0:00 and all times will be checked after the deadline June 2. Does that mean it didn't work? What did I do wrong? My time is a Disney race after all. :confused3

It should give you a projected time. Did you type in your finish time? I would do it again.

Proof of time submitted! My DH's projected time was 1:50 and mine was 1:54. Hopefully that will get us in the same corral. We've got a couple more races on the schedule between now and September, so we'll see...

How did you submit from a disney race? I ran the enchanted 10k in February and can't get my times. Thanks

My time wasn't from a Disney race. This will be our first (and probably last Disney run). Too rich for my blood, but I had to do it once!

After a week off, it's back to the grind in full force tomorrow.

New gym, new workout routine, new goals. As one of my girlfriends put it, running is officially my full-time job now - I have all the free time in the world and no reason not to work as hard as I can to be in the best shape and state for all of the races I've paid for/am planning for.

Now, if there were just a sure-fire, painless way for me to give up mac 'n' cheese and cocktails ... :(

You just have to work those things into your training. Both would be very hard to give up.

Nice! Funny you mentioned mac n' cheese, I don't know why, but for the last month, I've totally been on a mac n' cheese kick. :rotfl2:

Why would you give up mac n cheese?! I run for cookies, no reason you can't run for pasta! :D

RIGHT???

I joined a great gym, but ran into one of those SUPER hardcore sales people for personal training. They didn't listen to what I was saying and made me think I needed to achieve some completely unrealistic goal - all because I told them I didn't have a "weight goal" in mind. I want to work out to get stronger, to run longer and faster. I'm not in it to be some size 2. Frankly, I'm a size 12ish now, and I'm comfortable with my body (I'm tall). Would I like to be a size 6? Sure! But a size 8 will be just fine. I'm not defined by a number, though.

I just want to finish a full marathon strong. And wear a sundress without a cardigan because my arms are gross.

And still eat pasta and drink beer. Is that too much to ask??!?

I have taken up TRX Training full body suspension my physio suggested this type of training to improve my running. I'm also doing Kettle Bells. The combination with my running is improving my runs I feel very strong. Now just have to keep the little gremlins out of my head!

I'm a fitness lone wolf. I don't go to the gym at all. We have a treadmill and rowing machine at home, some yoga mats, and 2 border collies that can run forever. I don't like someone telling me what to do or eat; I've got to do this for ME or I won't have the motivation to stick with it.

I'm the same way - BUT, my husband works here at the house ... so, for the sake of our marriage, I bit the bullet to go workout elsewhere. ;)

Like I said - I'm confident and even happy with my body. There's more to "working out" than being skinny. Sometimes, it just about getting healthy. And, also, I like beer too much to ever be a size 2. :D

My motivation is the grand-kids. I want to be able to keep up when I take them to Disney!
Sure, my kids are still in college, Not married, or even engaged, but I like to plan ahead.

You and me, Mickey'sfriend!

I second the TRX and kettlebell and anything else you can do to strengthen your core and glutes.

TRX is sooooo hard though

I may have mentioned it before but I'm currently trying 3 days per week of running + 3 days per week of yoga. I've been liking it so far but I'm not sure if it's feasible for marathon training. We'll see!
