Official 2015 Disney Marathon Thread

When we ran the Princess half marathon last Feb, we stayed at Pop Century. They had large coffee urns set up on a table in the lobby for the runners. It was free. There was also an urn with just hot water. We got coffee and I got hot water to use in my instant oatmeal.

Thanks! I plan to ask when I get there, but this makes me hopeful that there will be something available!

I stayed at POP last year and will be again this year.I remember the food court opening at 3am,obviously no hot dishes but they had the quick serve grab n go area open with croissants,bagels,bananas and everything else in the cooler area along with the soda station so yes there was a cashier to take payment.What they meant is that the coffee is in the soda station area,you're supposed to pay for the coffee,get the cup and then you go fill it up.

You're right. I stand corrected. Food court was open for business at POP, but not POFQ.

To join in the weather discussion I was on WESH TV's regular and mobile site a few minutes ago and they are not in agreement either on the weekend forecast.

Ok for a pretty up to date weather report. I live 20 minutes outside of Disney, it is a very mild day so far. Its right around 60 degrees now with a high of 70. It is super sunny outside with only white clouds so it shouldn't rain at all today. Hopefully we can keep the good weather up through the weekend!

It's like I dont care anymore if it hits 80 but I'm just hoping the nice weather extends through Sunday.I had a half Marathon in November where it rained from mile 8 on and I want no part of another wet race.

I am just ready for this weekend to get here. We don't leave till Friday morning. Marathon weekend is my Christmas so I am too excited to sleep at this point.

They didn't have one open so I don't know.

We asked a few employees there, and they all said "they didn't make them this year". So sad.

I have my medals in a box (I'm actually not a huge fan of the wdw marathon weekend medals) but I have my little medals on my previously-owned pink vinylmation, and that is out on display, reminding me of things.

I'm really just sad about this. Along with my routine "here's another misspelling or typo on your site" emails lol, they will get my feedback about this decision, too

Aww. It's okay - if anyone would understand, it's this group! You seem more rational than the shoe people. The Facebook comments are insane!

I love this! I thought I was the only one who corrected others' websites and brochures.

Got in my last run today before going Goofy! A little cross training tomorrow and that's it. My training is much more solid than the last time I did the full, but somehow I feel less confident in it. Did I do enough? What about that 10 miler I missed? What about the week I only did the bike because my foot hurt? Why didn't I do strength training more often? I know I can do the races, I just feel like I am questioning my training more than I probably should.

90% done with my costume for the half. Feeling less than inspired with my costume for the full. I'm trying to go for minimalist yet recognizable. The shirt is the problem, I guess. I have an old orange race shirt but it has big dark printing that I'd rather cover up. I have an idea for that (tack a cloth sign to the front), but if it rains, it will be a big mess. I'm just running out of time and creative juices.

Also why do I have so much to get done at work?

Okay, enough whiny rambling. I'm just overwhelmed and ready to be at my happy place!!!!

Wow was the expo crowded tonight! We still managed to get in and out in a reasonable time though, even with a little shopping. I looked at some merch previews before going, but I LOVED all the merch when I got there. I loved most of the shirts, but unfortunately I cannot afford to redo my wardrobe to be entirely run disney. I stuck to a Goofy car magnet, pin, and shot glass....errr...toothpick holder! (I collect them)

Now that I have the bib, it is sinking in that its really here/happening!
