Official 2015 Disney Marathon Thread

I booked BC with a travel agent because the rate was just as good as the hoped for AP rate and I wanted it done. Wish I had for the W&D. I'm still waiting for an AP rate to appear. :)

Just a bit curious, for the WDW Marathon Weekend 5k, what have been some of the "medal" designs in the past? I know:

- 2012 = 3 Caballeros
- 2014 = Pluto

Anyone know or remember other ones?

2013 was the Fab 5 + Daisy in front of Spaceship Earth for the 20th anniversary of the 5K :)

Oh this makes me so sad!! I was totally planning on a post marathon celebration dinner there! Our back up plan was Tonys-has anyone been there? Thoughts/reviews?

Yes, we ate there a couple of years ago. Just through shear luck, we got a table on the patio right on the square at the entrance. At first I was not happy about this as I normally don't like eating outside (bugs, wind) but with all the Disney magic going on around us, I can say I actually enjoyed it.

The food was very good. The only thing I would consider a complaint was that our server was stretched a little thin. She must've been covering for somebody else or else the management didn't do her any favors by giving her tables spanning every corner of the restaurant....and I was going through water like a guy that had just emerged from the Mojave. We could see how hard she was working. I think it was just "one of those things". All-in-all, we enjoyed it.

FYI, January folks, Cinderella's Royal Table will be closed from 1/5 until March.

Bummer! Has this been confirmed by Disney? My son asked to eat there for his birthday. Guess we'd better start figuring out a backup.

Tony's is my least favorite restaurant at Disney. I was less than impressed with the food and service.

Disney informed my Travel Agent.

Edit: Just got word from a cast member that this is official. (Posted after business hours last night.) Closed 1/5-3/6, with tentative reopening on 3/7. My son will be bummed for no birthday dinner there! (Didn't mean to be snippy, just always wait till an official announcement from Disney.)

Sorry if its been posted but have they released the actual full and half marathon routes through WDW?
Also, is there a link for the 2015 medals yet?
I ran the Goofy in 2013 looking forward to running it again next year although I would have been happy with just doing the half. Goofy was the only race open.
Thanks,

The only medal to come out is the Goofy since it's the 10th anniversary. The marathon and half marathon routes will almost certainly be the same as the last couple of years.

Question- do all Disney Resort Hotels provide transport to the marathon? (Our fave is WL...)

I know that for the 2014 WDW marathon weekend, yes, all resorts provided transportation.

it's not the same for every event; for example, it's not all of them for Wine&Dine Half. But for the January one, I believe they should all have service.

There we are, found it.

Yep, all WDW resorts are Hosts for Marathon weekend!

I have read that Marathon weekend is the only time that they do all provide transportation to the races.
Also, Princess weekend - it's grown so much that all WDW resorts have been hosts the past 2 years.

I'm pretty sure they switch it up every now and again. I've seen pictures from a past marathon and they were running on the race track. I didn't run on the race track last time I did the Goofy.

Beginning in 2013, every race gets a new medal every year.

They changed the course in 2013,for the marathon you don't run inside Epcot at the start of the race, you run through the racetrack and you run through WWOS from miles 17-20.There's been nothing to suggest that it will change in 2015.
