OFFICIAL 2014 WDW Marathon Countdown: WE DID IT! Congrats everyone!

We're staying at Boardwalk for the first time, and I'm super excited! It'll be great and convenient for my parents to walk out and watch. Last time we went to WDW, for Wine and Dine, not only did the race end up being too late for them to stay up for, but it would have been way more difficult for them to get to a good viewing spot, because we were staying at CBR.

You'll loving staying there. The boardwalk has its own little after party too.

Agree! - this is my favorite marathon weekend location.

Your parents can either head over to the canal side of BWV to watch (mile 24) or head over to the bridge towards Epcot (mile 24.8).

I'm staying at AKL. I got a very good deal with my annual pass (basically half off, or the same as a value resort). I'm doing Dopey, and I didn't want to bother with the monorail or walking back and forth to an EPCOT resort, and the AKL buses are very fast and direct. Also, free breakfast.

How are you getting an annual pass discount? I don't see any codes for January yet.

Sorry I didn't read far enough to see you had already answered: used a travel agent.

Still not sure how that makes sense though since TAs shouldn't have access to things unavailable to the public.

Yeah. Only answer I received was speculating or that's how the Disney agent explained it to me. I tried our TA and Disney today with no additional info except speculating (against disney rules) or group rate.

New medals have been posted! Hoping the put up some better close-ups soon.

Question for those of you who have done the coast to coast challenge... Do you have to make that decision before you register for the first race? Like if I'm thinking of doing the DL half next year did I need to indicate that on the WDW marathon registration?

Add me to the list of people hoping to see closups. Looks like everything is different from last year. I like the color on the Goofy Medal.

I actually like the Pluto the best..... Hate (well really dislike) the new 'no-profile' designs.
