What fire?!

There is a fire which started this morning in Glendora near Pasadena. Widlfires in January are the downside to those Santa Ana winds that give us predicted daytime highs in the 80s.

Can anyone confirm that it was 65 degrees this morning at 6 AM? I am 4 hours north and it was 43 here. Usually Anaheim is about 5 degrees warmer than we are at 6 AM. -- Suzanne

Oh no! I am familiar with the frequency of CA wildfires bc my sister lives in LA but I hadn't heard about this morning. So is it going to be smoky at Tink? Because I have asthma and me and smoke do not go well, running or standing still! I never thought of this possibility.

You can smell the fire, and see the smoke, but to me it doesn't feel that bad actually here in Anaheim. But I'm not super sensitive to it.

It didn't feel 65 to me this morning, but I'm not 100% sure.

Great time at expo and got everything I wanted and then some. I was in line SO early rD held us downstairs in air conditioning and escorted us to the merchandise area. In and out in no time. Very organized !! I guess they learned from the problems at the DL 1/2 in Sept. Nice selection too. Hope everyone was able to pick up what they wanted.

That's nice! I hit the bib pick up/expo around 2:30. Of course, I had the longest lines there for my 5K/10K bib pick ups, but I waited max 10 minutes for each. Race shirts upstairs had no wait. By the time I made it to the merch, though, around 3:15, there was a pretty significant line to even get inside the booth to look at things. Since my friend flies in tomorrow morning, I'll just hit the expo with her tomorrow to look at merch. The most I want is a pint glass, so hopefully I'll be ok. If I don't end up with anything, though, I won't be crying.

FYI, for those that want the new balance shoes, they had already given out all of the days purchase slots when I got there at 2:30, but said they'd have more tomorrow.

It was definitely an improvement from last August! The queues in the air conditioning was probably my favorite part. My friend and I weren't interested in the shoes, but were interested to see if there was any race merch we really wanted. Chose to wait in the line for packet pick-up and were only about the 6th group in line (got there super early because why not). Went right up to the line for the merch and while it was a long line, it was controlled and better than the free for all. It moved fast, and we got what we needed/wanted - pins! Took out time meandering around the expo floor with the vendors but nothing really caught our eye except my new SPIbelt. Took less than 2 hours for us once it actually started.

So excited!

Just an FYI. Dooney and Burkes were gone by 5:00. Very sad. We had a place for new balance shoes and they were out of almost all sizes so we didn't go. We are east coasters and no one can sleep. It's okay because DD1 and DH are headed out to 5k and me and DD2 will be there to cheer!

Very disappointed I didn't get the purse and they are already on eBay.

It's a golden opportunity you know? Anyhow, did you happen to notice if there were any mugs and wine and pint glasses left? That's my shopping list. And the jacket, which I know I won't get because I won't be there until Saturday.

What color is the race shirt? Is it long sleeve? (Not the I did it one?)

THANK YOU! I'm hoping to wear it on Sunday (after the race) and I had packed a pair of green shorts and grey shorts and black shorts not knowing. This helps! Leaving in an hour for the airport- finally!!! (DH is still not packed though....)

For you CA Tinks, we're on the 5 with the SUV decorated and "pixied/Tinked out". Seeing lots of other Disney travelers and getting thumbs up. Anything to pass the time.

In the New Balance line was just told they are completely out of Sorcerer Mickeys and Goofys in sizes 7-8 for the weekend. Thankfully not my size but thought I should pass the message on.

Wondering if I should go now or wait until later in the afternoon . . . the only merchandise I might want is an "I Did It" shirt but hopefully that's not a high-demand item. (And if anyone happens to have a picture of the "I Did It" shirt, I'd love to see it.)
