I am doing this from my iPad, so I don't know if this works, but I just googled 2014 GSC bibs and here is one that was D/J. I assume DDD will be similar.
I think I will join you in a 12 miler next weekend, a couple short runs during race week, and two rest days (... add to notes 'honey stingers', no gel, no powerade...) Thanks, annmariedaAnd if you don't mind me saying, you sound very well trained for this race! See you at the meet up? And if not, good luck on Sunday!

The RD meet up that is on 8/28? Sadly we do not arrive in time for that.
Yep, last corral for us, as expected.
I believe she meant the meet up that we have been slowly planing over on the Disneyland Half Marathon thread in the Disneyland boardas. We've settled on something for Friday the 28th near/at Trader Sam's (I believe that was everyone's choice) but no time has been decided yet, but probably afternoon/early evening.
Once we set a time we can post it here if anyone is interested.

I was not even aware that a "just" half board was going. I will have to pop over there.
28th would not work for us since we don't arrive until friday. So do you mean friday or do you mean the 28th?
I'm registered to the DDD but just a day after the race I'm off on a nearly four week vacation which includes a Disney Cruise. I'm so fricken excited I can barely keep focused on work.
You'll be fine because you've been training.
I met someone in the last corral at the Tink 10k who planned to walk the whole distance and was not sure she could manage a 16 mm pace because she had never completed the distance before. When more people than usual were swept during Tink, I thought of her.
As my friend's husband told her before her first half, "You've run the distance; you're just here to pick up the medal."
Best of luck and enjoy yourself. -- Suzanne
I like your attitude! You got this![]()
Thanks for your support
I just hope my legs hold out in the end. I've told my family to prepare themselves for pushing me around the park in a wheelchair, because I don't care how much pain I'm in, on the day I will push through and finish that race!![]()
In response to street closures, they SHOULD be the same, in theory, but nothing is out officially yet that I've been able to find (and that includes through work). I can post the street closures/times as soon as I find out which should be in the next couple of days.
So...I posted something very similar in the lead up to last year's TOT run. And I was responded to very seriously, being told that unless I was actually injured, to not get the wheelchair because walking is exactly what you need if you are sore after a run. I'll pass along the same info to you, but not as seriously. More in a "I know where you're coming from, I get it, but save the wheels for only if you truly truly need them" way.![]()
Augh, your post and the one you were responding to makes me think I've made an error in hotel choice. Will Katella south of the parks be closed before the Half? We're staying at Ramada Plaza and I figured we could just go west on Katella then up the street past PPH to the start. Is that not the right thing?
Should my brother and I just take the bus that I've heard is an official way to get there?
Never mind! I see that road closure are included in the current event program! Most of the road closures happen when we should already be at the starting line so runners shouldn't be impacted at all. The only road that's closed before 5 am is where the corrals are lined up at (so Disneyland Drive from the GCH to Ball is closed from 00:01 to 08:00 and then Magic Way will be closed from 00:01-10:15). Road closures mostly impact cast members working at the resort, people coming into the resort who aren't there for the events, spectators, etc. As runners, we should be where we need to be before that.
I did pick up a list of all the road closures if anyone would like me to post them, but again, the majority of them shouldn't impact any of us. The Disneyland Dr. and Magic Way closure starting at 00:01 will be in effect for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (until 07:30, 07:30, and 08:00 respectively).
Personally, I don't see any point to taking the shuttles. All they do is drop you off at the normal drop off zones on Harbor and then you have to cross the Esplanade, DTD, and make your way to the start regardless. It's simpler and probably less time consuming to just walk, which was your initial thought in the first place.
I didn't even realize I typed in a number. We are meeting on Friday. Time TBDm, but I think we are going to start discussing it tomorrow night.
I don't know if I explained it right - it's a thread similar to this one, but over on the Disneyland board here at the DIS. We've had check in threads for the Disneyland runDisney events for a few years now, since most of us (myself included until recently) didn't know about the WISH boards and we keep them going mostly for planning related to Disneyland itself.
Here's the link if you'd like to see it: 2014 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend
We have similar threads for Avengers, Star Wars, and Tink. But feel free to stop by and if you have any input about a meet-up time if you're interested, do share!
