Official 2014 Disneyland Dumbo Double Dare, Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k Thread!

I just reread the instructions too. Got my 10k coral assignment. Now to find out what that means. 30,443

Lower numbers are in the front corrals, higher numbers are in the back.

These were last year's corral assignments for the 1/2: http://as1.wdpromedia.com/media/rundisney/pdf/disneyland-half/2013/CorralAssignmentsDLHM.pdf

I guess this year's will be a bit different? I'm in the 9000's and this link has me in F finishing the race in 3 hours or less. I didn't enter a time and have never raced before, so I assumed I'd be in the back. When are corral assignments usually posted?

With the added corrals, I am sure there will be less people per corral so it will be different than it was last year. That being said, I am very happy with my bib number because I am sure I wont be too far back. I always worry that some how I enter something wrong when I register and I am just automatically entered into the last corral. It isn't a fear that plagues my every thought or anything, but it is still nice to be able to put that to rest.

I'm new to the boards. My number is 6883, Half only. According to last year's corrals, it puts me way faster than the time I submitted. But according to the Event Guide, it looks like they are going through the letter J, so who knows what it all means. Does anyone know when we get the corral placements?

Almost time... Waiver link just came up. www.trackshack.com/disneysports/w14dl/verify.php?lname=Billy&bmon=01&bday=01&byr=1111&uid&pw in the web address replace Billy with your last name and adjust your birthdate 01 01 1111 to your bd. Press Enter button
So awesome! Thank you! The little sneak peeks y'all figure out are so great!

Theres 3 extra corrals this year. So I'm guessing the D on back will be smaller groups. Last years numbers are a good guide but I wouldn't bet on them just yet!
I hope you are right! According to last's year's corrals, I'm in B. But looking at my sister's bib number she would be in D but her proof of time was a 2:14 half, which would put her in C, with the greater than 2:10 but under 2:25 crowd. :confused3 So obviously something is adjusted with the added corrals, we just don't know what yet! The suspense is killing me! :rotfl2:

are you doing "just" the half, not dumbo? My mom and I are both half only and our bib #s are 4 digits as well.

LOL at "just". :) Yes, the Half only.

Checked my brother's, he's about 1500 numbers behind me. He decided not to enter a proof of time because his would all put him in A or B, but having him give that up to come back to join me would have been better than me having to start ALL the way in the back! Augh. Knew I should have talked to him about that.

Ugh. Sorry you are having shoe troubles -- I hope the current style works for you :)

Thank you very much for your added details on getting the race waiver -- I was finally successful because of them :)

Glad to be of help.

Constant shoe problems for me... I went years with the "stability" shoes because my feet do funky things, but then I noticed that my feet still do those funky things with the stability shoes! And my ankles were getting weaker and weaker. Chose to go to the NB Minimus but just haven't put in the mileage yet to be sure I can make it. I don't want to carry other shoes with me while running (though it certainly is an idea!) so hopefully going up a notch will be just what I need. I can't believe how wonderfully stretchy the tops of the Nike Frees feel.

I think the think to keep in mind too is that last year you could submit 2:45 without a proof of time and this year it was 3:15. Princess may be a better indicator.

This is a link to the old corrals from last year if you want to take a look. BUT--- we have extra corrals this year in the half and less in the 10K.

I'm guessing there will be split bibs like the GSC offered for corral purposes or else the DDD people will have to be in D by default. Now, I'm not complaining - lol- but I that was a MASSIVE corral last year and it was a mess. I'm guessing again that they are not repeating that this year.

GSC might be a basic indicator, but you also have to remember that DDD has a lot more men, which means a lot faster placement times. B corral at PHM might be D corral for DDD for example.

This is the corral info for GSC 2014 if you want to try to compare. A lot more corrals overall though at PHM so still really hard to throw out guesstimates.

OMG, putting all the DDD runners in D would be a MASSIVE corral. I can't even imagine. I was A/B at GSC and was hoping to go A/A for DDD, but I would be thrilled with another A/B if the other option is one big group of us all in D.

Fingers crossed for lessons learned! :wizard:

Sorry- to misrepresent. There were DDD runners up front.

If you were faster you were still placed up front but if you were slower you were no further back than D.

At least that's what it appeared to be based on bib numbers.

It was very odd and d was so huge they ended up creating a D1 and D2. D1 were the people arriving too late to get into the real D corral and were standing between c and d corrals. They let us go first as the first wave of d corrallers. By and large it was DDD bibs in this group.

I'm doing the half, my bib # is 3876. Have no real idea what that means, this being my first half. Still, pretty exciting stuff! :thumbsup2

Did you submit a proof of time? I'm number 5690 and I usually finish just under three hours.

I'm only running the half.

I am running only the half and am bib# 3041. My submitted time was 2:19:00 based on completion of a recent half. Now to just wait until the corral placements get released to see where we all end up in line.

I thought I followed the directions for changing the UrL to find my bib number very carefully, but no luck. It won't work for me.:confused3
How soon will the waiver/bib assignment emails be sent out?

Yep. Proof of time was for my first race ever, a 10k. I submitted 1:05:36, they translated that to an "anticipated finish time" of 2:22 for the half. Which will probably be about right for me.

An 800+ bib # difference between 2:19 & 2:22! I'm guessing I'm going to be in very big corral! :)

Quick question to folk: It doesn't look like the trackshack link is working anymore, even when changing the data on the address bar. Does anyone think the bib #s will change from what we saw?

It worked for me yesterday, but not today.

The link was not working last night. I even had DH try it and thought for sure he could/would get it to work...no luck !:confused3

Really wanting to find out what corral were in.

Looks like the official one is live now

http://www.trackshack.com/disneysports/w14dl/verify.php

Worked for me (as did the "leaked" one) and my number has not changed

My Dad's waiver still isn't appearing for the 10k. Maybe I put his date of birth in wrong :confused3

When can we expect the email? I'm getting a little concerned about this now and really want to make sure everything is ok, but I won't bother to contact them until all the official information has been sent out.
