Official 2013 Tower of Terror 10 Miler

Is there anywhere my DH can watch me run besides the start and finish? For the 1/2 in January he was able to catch the monorail to MK and see me there. Are there any busses going to ESPN (to bring people to/from their cars) so he can go there to watch me run around the track and make it back for the finish?

just a quick question guys,

i know rundisney will probably announce it but just trying to work stuff out -
during the party at HS after the run, will the busses be running back to resorts? as we are non drivers

getting to the event at Pop Century bus, but unsure on how we will get back, is it a disney bus again? or will we need to get a cab?

Yes, you should be able to catch a bus back to your resort as long as it's a host resort. That's they way it was last year. After the race my friends and I stayed to ride a few rides but with the heat and people getting sick everywhere we decided to head back to the resort.

Will there be taxis available after the party? BFF and I are planning on staying as long as possible but we are not staying at a host resort.

Yes!! :goodvibes Last year we did not stay at a host resort, so we took at cab to ESPN, loaded on the bus with everyone there, then after the party there were cabs lined up in the parking lot! It worked out awesome :woohoo:

Hi everyone! I've been reading this thread for weeks but figured since I'm officially registered to run I'd join in! I went to Disney last November thinking it would be the last trip for a few years- but somehow now I'm going in July for a conference and October for this. I've always wanted to do a runDisney event- so this was just the push I needed to start running again, and I'm super excited!

I saw several Color Run posts too- I did my first one last fall and it was awesome! That's in my town again this year a couple weeks after TOT.

I've got the Rock the Parkway Half-Marathon Saturday, the Kansas Half-Marathon next weekend, Color Me Rad 5K May 4th, and Running with the Cows Half-Marathon on May 11th.

Sadly, I've been having trouble with my IT Band the last couple of weeks, so while I signed up for these halves hoping for a PR, now I'm just hoping to finish them all. :(

So, earlier this month I posted about all my upcoming races. 2 half-marathons down, 1 to go! :cool1: Unfortunately, my IT Band has gone from bad to worse. Went to the doctor this week. If it's not improving within 2 more weeks, I'll go back in and we'll talk about physical therapy. I do not like how much this is throwing me off of my game!

We fly Southwest, since they always seem to be the cheapest and we use SW credit card bonus points. When are you arriving/leaving? We're there Friday to Wednesday and our flights were $127 departing and $108 returning. (They're Air Tran flights, since SW bought them out.) If you see anything for $108.00 I'd grab it, since from our experience, that's most likely the lowest rate you'll see. :)

Tiger Milk. :scared: Still can't look a bottle in the eye. ;)

Thanks for the flight info. I am hoping to get plane tickets for Mother's Day :). I am flying out Thursday and returning Sunday evening. I wish I could stay longer but don't have the vacation time or money in our budget to allow for that.

Weluvdisney - last year they did run buses to ESPN. It was the baseball field, I think, where friends and family could cheer us on.

I'm still on the fence about this since I'd be going solo. I know it's close to being sold out so I need to make a decision soon! Is anyone else doing this race on their own? And if so where are you staying?

I'm going solo too! Staying at my timeshare though, it's at the Sheraton Vistana Resort, unless you wanna bunk mate as I'll have plenty of room 'cause we have a 2 bedroom/2 bath with w/d and kitchen :)

I'm going solo and staying at Old Key West.

LOTS of folks will be racing solo. Don't let that be a deterrent!

Although I'm traveling with family, I'm running solo. Once you're out on the course you'll be no different from most! And come, join me, my hubby, and son for the party after! Or maybe just them, as I'm assuming I'll be just about the last to finish the thing. :) (it's good to have goals, LOL)

Off I go to start weight training. I'm finally convinced that it will help with running. I already know it helps with weight loss and overall fitness, and it will help me LOOK better as I drop the rest of my excess weight. But I never really understood that it can help with running until recently. I'm pretty excited! I haven't done weight training in a LONG time. Cross fingers I don't hurt myself, LOL.

Just registered for ToT. Will be my first Disney race. I can't wait. I'm even considering the goofy challenge.

My hubby and I signed up for our first race together....Disney style!! So excited!!

Of those of you who has raced this before...what is it like after the race?? Rides...entertainment...food options...just wondering now what to expect....
Is it a large crowd at DHS for the bash??
TIA for all your help!

I'm in! I just hope the weather is better this year than last year. that humidity was terrible.
