Official 2013 MVMCP Information

You 'may' see part of the parade, but I wouldn't count on it. The tables at Tonys aren't all right next to a window! The parade really is best viewed outside. It's one of the really fun things at the party. Of course, you can always catch the second parade.

Yes I'm aware of that. I have plans to watch the second parade outside. :)

My point was more that I have a full day before the Christmas party and other than the parade at that time, I don't see what I would be missing out on during that time of the party.

I'm waiting to see information other than "some shows" , parade and fireworks.
Please don't take my comments as saying this is no big deal. I honestly don't know what to expect and am going with the flow of the night.

One thing I know I won't be doing is wasting my time watching things through the view of a camera. I've done that too many times and totally missed the moment that can not be relived via a picture or video.

Also since I have hopper pass (but also know I can get in with my hard ticket at 4pm) will be there earlier than 7pm. Enjoying all that I can figure out until midnight on my last night of vacation.

11 days and a sleep and I'm out of here!:cool1:

Honestly, if you are skipping the character meets, there's not a lot left besides shows, fireworks and parades.

It sounds like you are just there for the atmosphere, so I'm sure you'll have a ball. And without the character lines, you'll probably have time to eat. But ride lines will likely be shorter than they are during typical park days.

I could probably just sit on Main Street with the snow falling and be happy. It's a great atmosphere.

Here is the list of shows (2012) from kennythepirate's blog:

Castle Dream Lights 6:15
Celebrate the Season Show 7:45
A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas Show 7:45
Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade 8:15
A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas Show 8:45
Holiday Wishes 9:30
A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas Show 9:55
Celebrate the Season Show 10:05
Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade 10:30
A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas Show 10:50

He has a nice table but my iPad converts it for some reason...

That's the word "atmosphere"!!!!
The whole experience is about the atmosphere.
Oh and may I mention warmer temps than here.

Mom2rtk: that last photo is what has me giddy. I don't care about lines for anything, when I get to see that castle all lit up like that I will be giddy. :)

I agree those photos were great!!!
But the one of the castle is just amazing.
Can I ask, with the garland hanging does it change the look of the fireworks if you want from Main st.?

Most of my vacations at Disney have been April.
I don't remember my November honeymoon much other than being at Epcot and being cold because I wasn't thinking to bring a jacket.

I really love "night life" atmosphere and very much look forward to late nights at MK and HS. I'm not sure how much Epcot will be transformed for the week I'm there, but I'm sure I"ll be excited there too.

My friend and her husband are going with us. Same but separate vacations without kids. They recommended the Christmas party. Honestly I would have by-passed it but now can't wait to check it out.

The pictures posted definitely made me smile and get giggly.

Anyone else messed up with Daylight savings?
My body is struggling with this early dark.
Originally we had planned to be at Disney this week, but various reasons pushed it out later.

I believe I read the Jungle Cruise has a holiday twist. Did I see Small World too? Any other I should be aware of?

It's all good.

At which show do the castle lights go on? The one where supposedly Cinderella is trying to figure out how to decorate. Is it the Dream Along with Mickey show? If so, Disney calendar is showing 5:15 on Dec. 17. Is that correct??

It's the Castle Dream Lights. They went on tonight for the first time.

I think it's closer to 6 that time of year, but could be wrong. But the show is called "Cinderella's Holiday Wish". And it's not to be missed. Short, but amazing to watch.

It was at 6:15 yesterday. It was my first time seeing the show (just never made it out here at this time of year) and loved it. There may have been tears...

Ahh Minnie & Mickey looking on in love...

It even makes wishes more beautiful

There is also a new Christmas overlay to Celebrate the Magic that started last night which was glorious...:lovestruc

Check out all those LCD screens! :)

But seriously, it's a sight I never get tired of. I don't know if I can go back to visiting a different time of year. The castle would just seem so naked! :rotfl:

Forgive me if this has been covered, but I am curious as to the number of tickets sold for MVMCP. Are as many people allowed in for MVMCP as during regular hours?

It seems that even though the party might be crowded, wait times for rides are generally manageable due to others' being distracted by the specific holiday offerings.

does anyone know if there is any major advantage to pre-ordering the tickets (picking up at Will Call - we have APs) for the party on Nov 14th?

I know once we preordered tickets and got nice hard souvenier type ones via the mail. We normally buy tickets for parties once we're down there and can see what the weather is going to be doing.

On this quickie trip (only 6 days) we can only go to the Nov 14th party (not due to lack of parties but because we're competing in a MouseAdventure Event on the Saturday and Sunday so the Friday and Sunday parties are out).

I'm thinking of just buying tickets when we arrive on the 13th (so we'd get the day before AP discount but would also have some idea about the weather - if it's bucketing rain I'm not going to go to a party). But if there's an advantage I don't know about for pre-purchasing please let me know!

That is correct. As a result, Main Street stays pretty packed, but the rest of the park is much less busy, with low-ish wait times on rides.

And they don't announce what the "limited" number of tickets sold is. I have always suspected that's so they can change that number without any hubbub. Many have guessed it to be around 20K, which is low compared to a regular park day. But given the way everyone congregates on Main Street, it is more than plenty.

No major advantage other than knowing for certain you have your tickets. You never know when a given party will sell out. 11/14 probably won't sell and you'll be fine. But if my heart is set on going, and I can only make it to one, I buy them in advance just to be on the safe side.

When do they release or how do you find out what characters will be at the party? Also, is the party schedule pre-released?
