Official 2013 Disneyland Dumbo Double Dare, Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k Thread!

Do they have a history of adding spots? DH just ran his first Marathon at WDW and wanted to Dumbo badly. He went for his midday run, and it was sold out.

I'm signed up for the 10k and the kids are in the kids' races.

I guess he can go for a charity spot once they are added?

Dumbo Dare is sold out! Booooo!!!! I tried for an hour (before it was sold out) to register and the page would never load. So frustrating. I'm really sad I won't be able to do this.

I was also very disappointed to discover this. I know they have reserved spots for charities though.

Does anyone know about how to get connected with a CHARITY GROUP?

Add me to the list of disappointed people who didn't get in...I just registered for the two races separately...I'll have to make my own medal! I should just be grateful that I get to go and run...looking for the bright side here.

Jimney Cricket! I am glad I had the Disney Visa pre-register option! I tried to go on the site just to see the % full and it kept freezing when loading. I knew it would sell out quickly, but I was thinking people had a few DAYS to sign up, not a few minutes! :faint:

This is the type of online registration one day sellout that I'm used to with Ironman events, but those are restricted to ~3000 people... If the half is over 60% full that means they're probably over 10,000 registrations already!

Just goes to show, they still haven't hit their price ceiling... :duck:

On the runDisney Facebook page, it states that there will be charity spots available. This option may or may not work for. So sorry you did not get in.

We were able to get our son - who was firmly planted on the fence - registered for the 10K. All five of us are now running the 10K. Three of us also running the half/DDD. Whoo Hoo!!

I signed up for the 10k for now, I'm going to keep an eye on the 1/2 and see how fast that goes. Still wish I was doing the official DDD though. UGH.

You're probably right. Just look at the price jump for this years Tower of Terror.

I went ahead and registered for the 5k. I'm in for it all!!! Gotta make the most of how much it's going to cost me to fly across the country! ::yes::

It has gotten ugly on the rD FB page! Apparently nobody knew about the presale over there. Nor do they know you only get the fancy medals if you are signed up for them, a bunch of people signed up for both races after DDD sold out thinking they will still get a dumbo medal. :(

I'm on the fence for that. I am signing the kids up for the kids races and will look at the 5k later. It's a lot of $ for an untimed race:(.

We paid $150 for the Full. $175 for the half seems really high but ppl are still buying....oh well

My boys (7 and 4) were excited about the prospect of the kids races, until I told them that there wasn't a Mickey Mile. "Dad, those other races are too short!" Future distance runners? :thumbsup2
