Official 2013 Disneyland Dumbo Double Dare, Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k Thread!

Added the early registration link to the front post, as well as a note about the DVC discount, the clock is ticking! Cheryl caved and is in for DDD... Or maybe she didn't cave, pretty sure she's been saying she was going to do it the whole time and we were just waiting to make sure the marathon went well and that she hadn't decided to never run again, again.

Well, I'm in. I wasn't going to, but I kept seeing everyone sign up and realized that if I didn't go, I would be kicking myself for the next 8 months. I am so excited!

I'm so glad I'm already registered...it's going to be interesting to see what goes down today! I wonder if they'll have time to put percentages on the runDisney website or if it'll just go from nothing to sold out? I don't think any of the races I've done in the past had this chance of selling so fast, so I've never watched this kind of thing before.

The start line is on Disneyland Dr. Between the parks if you are looking at the map Liznboys posted above.

The start is near the intersection of Magic Way and Disneyland Dr on the West side, but it is very walkable from Harbor. The area between Disneyland and DCA is open without a ticket being required, and connects into Downtown Disney which will take you the rest of the way over to the crowds.

Anything in green on that map is inside a mile by foot from the start. Additionally, every hotel on the NW side in yellow is actually even closer, because the corrals back up on Disneyland Drive all the way up to around where the words "Days Inn" are located on the map (which is also the location of the parking structure). I've stayed at the Sheraton Anaheim previously and literally stumbled out of the hotel about 30 min prior to start and was in the front of corral A with 15 min to spare.

DH and I signed up for Dumbo this morning! So excited! And it will be our C2C - 4 medals in 2 days!
We are crossing our fingers that we can figure out everything with work and a babysitter, but I knew we'd regret missing it if it sold out in the meantime.
Where to stay is undetermined. While I'd love to stay at DLH, I think we'll stay at the cheapest walking distance we can find (that isn't totally gross). I'll need to do some research. Do the nicer economy and moderate Good Neighbor hotels start to fill up - should I reserve something now?

I'm staying at the Best Western Park Place using their AAA rate which is under $100 per night. I actually wasn't a AAA member anymore but rejoined to get the discount. I found a code to make my AAA membership cheaper so I made sure that the whole deal was saving me money.

Oh and I figured I'd go ahead and book it now since they don't charge anything and they let you cancel just a day or so before check in. No risk (where I'm staying).

Just got off the phone with RunDisney. DDD is capped at 5000 and as of 12:15 it was at almost 4000! I bet it is sold out by now.

Wow! The 10k is already 60% full!! How quickly does the 5k fill up? I want to do it but I'm waiting on a couple of friends. We were planning on registering this weekend.

I'm still considering the 5K too. Just don't know about the whole timing issue. I guess if it sells out before I can commit, the decision is made for me! lol
