Official 2013 Disneyland Dumbo Double Dare, Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k Thread!

I think this might be what was seen... I pulled the link as my FB group is reporting that races other then the kids are requiring a password to complete the process, remember this page came up for people and the races sold out as they were filling in their data in January, and they ended up not being able to actually finish registering. This is still active on active.com but RD pulled the links when the races filled up.

I clicked on each race and only the 5k, which I missed out on, has a red FULL tag on the next page. Interesting...

found this part of the site only this week, years after lurking/posting/revisiting all the DL threads and the Disney Cruise threads...

Signed up for the 10K in Disneyland day registration opened....hesitated too long about the DDD...oops.

Then, I talked, nagged, threatened, cajoled two of my five adult children into joining me....lol They are also running (walking) the 10K to support their mom (see how I work.....it's all about "support".)

Now, I am working on two others to join me in WDW for the Dopey Challenge, but that is a bigger plot.

Anyway, we are at the Best Western Park Place Inn Suites from 8/28-9/3 with other family members arriving on 29th and others on 30th. Will be a pack of 8 at least. (3 adult kids, 1 significant other of a kid, 3 grandchildren, all approx. age 6.).

hope to meet up with some other DISer's while there!

The one on Katella? I stayed there a while back and it was nice. We had a room w/ the sunken living room and there was a ton of room.

Yay Meredith!! I'm still trying to figure things out Cindy. Want to ask the lawyer if I run up the credit card bill, is DH ( and that is not darling husband, think ____ head ) responsible for it regardless of what it is for? If so I'll be coming and doing Dopey too! Told him I would screw him in the end!

Maybe stay with Nicki, if she'll have me. Then have to figure out how to not take the kids, or come up with a lot of $$$ and bring them. Without DH I could probably squeeze us all in one room.

I think the trip would definitely be A LOT more fun with out the kids! Gotta hang with my princess peeps!

Oooh, tell us about your Dumbo costume! Which race are you wearing it for?

I'm dressing as the Cheshire Cat for the 10K and then a group of us on fb are dressing as Mouseketeers for the Half.

Not too worried, it's really a hit and miss. That's the one thing I always write if I get those email surveys after the race, they should have a separate line for runners - we just want to shower and get back to the room and park! I've stayed there the past couple of years and 2 Tinks and it hasn't been too bad. 1 year I stayed at the other BW a few hotels down and the line was bad but it was also a little warm. Most of the CMs also just let you walk through though.

Cute costumes- are you making a Cheshire Cat shirt or are you wearing the raw threads one? I'm going LSU on Sat in purple and yellow and Cinderella on Sunday. Found a cute dumbo headband to wear both days that I can put on top of my running hat.

Get on it, girl. Less than 5 months. I'm paying 358 from Orlando to LAX nonstop. It was $300 more from West Palm and no nonstops. American Airllines.

I stayed there last year. I don't remember any issues....but I didn't check a bag either.

So I went to book hotel reservations for DDD this weekend.. Drat....DL hotels are sold out. Good Neighbors are available but I really had my heart set on GC for my first trip to CA. Does anyone know of a travel agent with a room block still available? Otherwise, I think we will have to split stay on/offsite.

I hear ya. I used GetTravel and all the DL hotels were sold out, even through them. They did have alot of good neighbor hotels avail.

That's so disappointing to hear. We will make it work though. As long as I get a few days in GC then I'll be ok. It's only 9/1 that appears booked.

LOL, they just celebrated their 60th BD. The guy that created them lives 1 hour south of me. They need to make Mickey and Minnie peeps. Better yet, Dumbo!
