And then I remembered that I have to run 13.1 miles the day after it and I'll get my own medal, so I should just calm down.
You guys, I may have developed some sort of running addiction.

We should turn this thread into the ITBS recovery thread.
.
Saw my chiro yesterday and she thinks it's a tight quad and an out- of- alignment patella to blame now because my IT band is plenty loose. It's starting to feel like my body is physically rejecting this race! I've got 7 miles planned tomorrow and I guess I'll walk most of it.

Anyhow, this Saturday is a day off Saturday. Since I have been out for Christmas break (thank goodness school district office employees get the same school year breaks), I moved around my workout days some and did weight training on my legs yesterday.
I forgot my hamstrings could hurt like this.
Anyhow, I have an 8 mile run coming up this week, which I've done before, but some interesting things happen to me around mile 8. That's where typically I hit my wall. Somewhere between 8 and 9. So even though I should be running just to 8, I'm going to try for 9 tomorrow to break through that wall with a strong finish.
Today I plan a trip to Dick's Sporting Goods for a different shirt for the PHM than I have, because I am worried that it's going to be warmer than I anticipated for a February morning. My daffodils and hyacinths are popping up, which probably means in Florida, they will have already bloomed and made way for other flowers by the week of the Princess Half. That's typically here a precursor to an early spring, but I've also seen it snow on said daffodils here. Either way, I want to be prepared for anything. I also plan to do that 9 mile run tomorrow in my clothes for the 5K. Of course, out on the road, I'll leave the tutu off, but I want to try the actual clothing with socks and the bondi band.
You should definitely be prepared for anything. Last year I wore shorts and a sleeveless tee to the parks on Friday, the next day it was jeans and a windbreaker with race day cold and misty. I am absolutely bringing a warm and a cold option this year.
I live here and STILL took a lesson from a very cold few days at WDW last weekend! 37-degrees, standing in the shade, was really, really COLD. Walking around EP in about 50-degrees with wind, in tights, jeans, 2 layers of shirts, a sweater and a down jacket, was comfortable. I've got so many layers lined up for the race, I could end up looking like the Michelin Man, not Snow White!
I graduated PT!!!!!!! Wooooo!!!! And with my beloved Vibrams!!!!
I'm up to 5 miles in my re-training without IT pain. Shooting for 6 tomorrow. Time to double-down on the pixie dust!!!!!
