Ladies who are flying out of Chicago Thursday / Friday.
Southwest has issues a weather alert. They will change your flight for free if you are flying out after Noon on Thursday - Noon on Friday.
I just changed mine!

Oh boy, going from extreme cold to extreme heat. Glad you were able to change your flight.

Yeah I am a little worried about weather. We are in central IL and fly to Ohare then Orlando. I'm hoping the weather really isn't that bad, they are all over the place, not sure whether it will be a lot or not or when it will actually get here. Can't fly out any earlier for me because I have a test thursday morning :/ fingers crossed its like the usual weather they've been predicting this year, they say it will be bad and its really nothing.

Reminds of a saying we had in high school here in TX...the bigger the hair the higher to God :rotfl2: Agree with what Cripey posted earlier...ponytail time...may just leave the flat iron at home...less to pack !

Love it !!!!

Q is going to our north thankfully. We are only getting the southern edge. Any further south and I may have gotten stranded here!

I have run in my compression tights for 10 miles and it was about temp wise here in San Antonio what it will be in Orlando. I felt good...is it warmer than capri's yes..but not like wearing a sweater vs a tshirt. For me the benefit of my legs feeling good during the race and after recovery FAR outweighs a couple ounces of material.

I would say ask yourself are you wearing the compression for your legs or will you do okay without them...really a personal decision. I feel a bigger difference in long sleeves vs short sleeves.

Are you staying at CR ?

I am wearing them for my legs. I wore compression sleeves in a half in January (then because it was cold). I was pretty sure they kept me from shin pain because I mostly train on earth, not concrete. I thought the compression tights would help as well and I did enjoy the recovery from a long run. I'll try them tonight after work and see how it goes.
Yes, my DD and I will be at CR.

I haven't posted on here in forever but I've been faithfully lurking and following everyone's posts (I hope that's not creepy :rolleyes1 ). I was lucky enough to get woken up on Monday at 4:30am (as usual) by my toddler. About an hour later I saw the meetup was posted and after hyperventilating a little managed to get a quick e-mail sent in at 5:38am. And, I got in! :yay: :yay: :yay: I am super excited, and extremely grateful for this opportunity but I'm really nervous too.

As a socially awkward introvert, I worry that I'm going to be standing alone the whole time. High school flashbacks, I guess! Any advice other than to get over it?

I also wanted to thank you all for all the great advice, support and positivity you've provided here. Although I don't post much, I really have learned (and laughed) a lot over the last year!

Lucky! We will be driving through it for 2 hrs then hoping our plane can take off some time. :-P Snow in the Kansas/KC area is 4-12"! Really!?

April, my daughter and I will be at the meetup in Minnie TeamSparkle skirts. Please say hello, you will not be stuck by yourself! The meetups are tons of fun and you will have a great time!

Anne, do you want to say when you are fling out on Thrusday. I am flying out of Midway.

We are flying on united. Southwest was a lot more expensive when I bought the tickets in November. So far no changes allowed. We leave at 8pm Thursday.

Wow. I really need to learn how to quote on my iPad! We are flying united on Thursday.

Well, here are our race day outfits...I'm going to just try posting links rather than the actual pics because it's faster than trying to resize them in photo bucket!

Here's the front of my Belle-inspired look. Here's the back. A closeup of the accessories (bondi band, earrings, ponytail holder and a Beast pin for my water belt on the back). And here is the front of BF's shirt, and the back!
Be sure to say hi if you recognize us and let me know if these links don't work :)

So cute! Did you come up with the saying yourself? If so, would you mind if I copied it for a future run? And where did you get your skirt? It seems like a cross between a tutu and skirt (not full-on tutu)...we were looking for one for this race but didn't see one.

Thanks! Sure, you can use the saying :). I found the tutu on etsy, The name of the seller is threeprincessbows. The ones she has posted for sale were for children, and I sort of had to talk her into making an adult sized one, but I'm glad she did, it really is cute. It's pretty much a normal tutu, with strips of tulle, but there is satin ribbon sewn to the end of each strip of tulle. I like it because the ribbon weighs down the tulle some and helps it not to be so poofy. It took her quite a bit of time to make it, so if you ever happen to inquire about one, just know to start the process early!

Oooh best of luck with that. Though I have to agree with you 4-12 inches in KC or Kansas? That's not very common (I lived in Kansas City when I was in elementary school) from what I remember!

Admittedly were apparently getting hit by it harder than I originally thought. Went up from an inch prediction tomorrow to 3-5 inches, plus another inch on the morning I fly out. Could be worse. At least Denver isn't being hit by the center of the storm. Apparently even though the storm is mostly north of us it packs quiet a wallop. Feel sorry for anyone in the storm's path. Hope everyone gets out to Florida okay who is in Q's path.

I still don't trust Denver to salt the roads after last weeks storm though. Long story short it started snowing last week on Thursday around 10, and Lakewood never bothered to send out their snow plows to prevent ice from forming. :scared1: Car iceplaned on me twice, probably would have been more if I hadn't been going in a straight line the two other times the anti-lock brakes kicked out. Yeah so my trust in the city of Denver and the outlying cities is not great.

On another note I might have just squealed when I saw they extended the MK hours. Now I've got to decide whether or not I want to make my trip to Epcot (going over after Wishes to do one of the Pick a Pearl things) short and than hop back to MK (since most of the crowd will probably clear out after Wishes) or just stay at Epcot.

Also what is the quickest way to get MK from DHS? I may hop over there if it isn't too late after my dinner reservations on Thursday if I'm not too tired.

Loving all of the costume photos! Here's mine:

Nothing fancy, but it does include a tiara, so that's fun. I was hoping to do something a little more elaborate, but just flat ran out of time.

Is anyone staying at Pop?

Starting to get super excited!

Got a special email..kind of creepy at first, it is from Taylor Reynolds :confused3
But it was about being a "Perfect Princess", the are 324 of us. It said they wanted to crown me for the weekend and a was a member of the "Royal Club".
So it was pretty cool..324 5-peat runners out of the original 6000.

Hope all the weather doesn't mess up all the travel plans.
