Anyone else nervous of doing something silly in the next two weeks (like tripping and spraining an ankle)?

I'm more worried about my precious, germy preschool students sharing some "love" with me. I had one out today with a fever. Injury I can manage, but I don't think I'm up for 13 miles with a fever and / or other bodily functions going on!

I really want to stop for the heroes and the villains plus the castle shot. The rest of the pictures will be bonus!

I'm with you. We've had a hard few days here too. My dear 8 year old dachshund died suddenly in an accident Saturday. It's hard to explain how much space a 10# dog takes up in your life. I'm hoping a little Disney pixie dust will help ease the pain.

SO sorry to hear about your loss! Our pets are such wonderful additions to our family, its very hard to say goodbye. Hugs to you.

Must do stops... Villans, Capt Jack, the Heroes, and might have to do Cindy since I am her sister! The lines do move pretty fast, don't be discouraged if they look long, but if you stop at all the long lines, it can add some time to your race. In Epcot whoever is standing around usually has VERY little lines I think cuz people want to be done!

I'm so sorry! We said goodbye our black lab last year and we miss her every single day. :sad1:

:headache: Ok, so this isn't race-related but I just have to say this trip CANNOT COME FAST ENOUGH. I took my car in the other day to check on the AC since it's been acting up...yes, it's warm enough here in February to actaully need it...so annoying! Well, I find out that yes, there is a problem and we all know AC work is stupid expensive...but apparently I'm also starting to have a problem with the power steering pump. jeeze louise...my car's not that old! And on top of all that, I start to see a pattern in thinking "oh, that juice I just took from the fridge doesn't seem very cold..." and then yesterday notice some things in the freezer not quite as frozen as they should be...like almost totally thawed. unbelievable...everything's breaking at once!!! I need to be somewhere that I can forget I even have a fridge or car...calgon take me away!!!! :lmao:

I know how you feel. I was waiting for DH to meet me yesterday after my class and I get a text that his car won't start. WE had to have it towed and then found out that it would be several thousand dollars to fix. Of course his ancient car had a ton of miles on it but I was hoping to wait until next year to replace it.

I was waiting for registration for Wine and Dine to open and I had also talked DH into Sea Wheeze in Vancouver. Was going to make those reservations today. BUT instead I ended up using that money to get a new car. Unfortunately DH and my hours don't mesh so one car just won't make it for us.

On the bright side I got the new car, DH took my car for himself. I guess it will be a local half marathon for me this fall.

I hope everything works out for you and doesn't cost to much money. Have fun running with all the other princesses.

Must dos are the Villains, Merida (she better be on course), Cinderella and Charming if the line isn't extremely long, Belle, and Pocahontas. I might stop for the heroes if the line isn't too long but I got a photo with them last year so they aren't top priority. Villains are top priority (line was moving excruciatingly slow and I had to ditch it).

I wanted to facepalm yesterday when they uploaded the Princess photo on the Facebook page. If you are going to ignore us for the most part at least have the decent courtesy to actually pick a photo from the right race. I recognized that stop from the inaugural Tinkerbell. Wasted almost 40 minutes in that line (corral placement for me was funny that year). It was worth the photo, it was so worth the photo (right up there with my running with Minnie photo as my favorite race photos).

But seriously its our anniversary year and we have all been ignored for the most part. On a normal year I could maybe understand it (still be annoyed though). But on an anniversary year?

I've been worried more about germs than hurting myself. I've been trying to avoid subbing in elementary school- but have a half day today in elementary. I'm gonna wash my hands about every 10 minutes LOL.

I feel your pain! I teach Kindergarten and am sneezed on every day. Gah! I have a slight cold right now but not too worried because I figure it should go away and I shouldn't get another til after the race!

I would def wait for the return trip for the characters you will see on the first 5 miles. They will be there later and with much better light for your pics. Once you get in the MK parking lot, though, stop for anyone you want to catch. My must stop pic is with the "heroes" - Aladdin, Eric, Tarzan, John Smith, Mulan guy - was Flynn in there last year?

Thank you:goodvibes Wooo...picture with heroes sounds lovely;) One quick question - has anyone seen Darth Vader as one of the characters?? I'll be dressed up as Princess Leia so I thought that may be cool, but never heard anyone talk about meeting the Sith Lord so I was curious.

I'm so sorry! My puppy is my baby! I would be devastated!

Tis day has quickly gone down hill for me :( Dh had surgery today and it doesn't look like he'll be a be to come with me, I'm still going to meet our friends down there but it still sucks :(

You've got to come up for Sea Wheeze! I'll be running it and my youngest DD will be part of the entertainment on the course!

I haven't seen him in either 2011 or 2012. Maybe this year since Leia has been added? That would be cool. I got a pic with him at Tink! :thumbsup2 Long line though- be prepared

Some of the people on the Run Disney facebook page are mentioning the cover photo being posted? I can't seem to find the darn thing (the most recent thing I see is concerning ToT 10 miler). And I can never seem to determine sarcasm from non-sarcasm. So anyone know if this is true? And where the heck I can get it?

Yeah I so very much want to run it. It is my birthday and would be a perfect bd present. It looks like such a beautiful coarse, even with the hills. :rotfl:

I am trying to figure out how to come up with the money so we can still make it.
I just might make the hotel ressies anyway because I can always cancel with no cost if I do it far enough ahead. Is this a race that sells out quickly? When do I have to make my decision by?

Sending good vibes out there to all those Princesses dealing with hard situations these last few weeks. Hope things start looking better soon :)

In my case, the snow from Nemo had me sidelined for a while and they're predicting more snow in the coming days! Fortunately I was able to complete my last long run today while it was nice out: 11.1 miles :) I considered just tapering as I'd already completed a 10+ miler previously - but I needed to prove it to myself mentally. Boy it was hard but I'm glad I went for it. And I figure the time I spent avoiding ice patches was training for watching out for crowds come race day.

The only other good news from Nemo is that I finished my costume!! I'll try to post a photo later - I'm pretty ecstatic about how it turned out :)

From what I'm seeing, their cover photo s still from the Tink half. They have one for PHM from a while back with the 'in training' on it that you can snag from their photos...wish they would put up a new one now though. Even if its not form PHM, which it should be, it looks weird for them to still have one up for an event that happened almost a month ago.

That's what I thought. I just don't get Run Disney's behavior towards the race this year. With it being an anniversary year you would think there would be a bit more fanfare. We had more fanfare back in 2012 than we are having in the last month before the race. Sure its nothing like the WDW being 20 now but that doesn't change the fact it is an anniversary.

Oh bummer...I hope you're still able to make it to your other trips. I just found out the fridge isn't going to be a terribly expensive ordeal and should be repaired tomorrow afternoon...as long as the two parts needed are available. The cost for the car is making me cringe though! BUT, a good working AC is pretty much essential in these parts, so it has to be done. :)

On another note, did anyone see that ToT went up to $135????!!!!???? It was $90 last year if I'm remembering correctly. It's really getting out of hand! I hadn't planned to do it again this year, but I was just really shocked at that price increase for that race. I certainly hope they come with the goods to back it up this year for that price!

Last year was the first year for it and normally races don't sell out quickly so I would think you're okay for awhile but don't hold me to it. I really hope you can make it up here and run with me!

Made it through a 5k tonight. Foot felt good. Hopefully it will still be doing well tomorrow!
