DW and I are still up in the air over running this one or the "26.2 with Donna". I want to run through 4 parks. My wife likes the cause at the Donna. We'll have to come to an understanding fairly soon, because I'm getting ready to finish up the training calendar through Feb '13.

Derek

I'll give you an opinion next week. I've done the Disney races three years, but am doing the 26.2 with Donna for the first time this weekend. I've heard really good things about the race, so I'll let you know how they compare!

Jackie

I don't think that there's really a way to weight one against the other. Disney has tons of theme park support. The Donna has tons of grass-roots support. Disney is mostly for fun. The Donna is fully for a cause. Next year is an anniversary year for Disney. This year was the anniversary year for the Donna.
Donna has Galloway pace groups so you always have a group to run with. Disney has a sea of humanity, so you always have people to run with. Disney has the theme parks. Donna has a beach run and aid stations run by locals.

I can't say that I'll be sad at either choice. I just need her to make a choice, so I can start projecting and filling races in between.

Will be amaking attempt number 2 at the Disney full. This year wasn't exactly successful mainly because I mised the last portion of training due to a bad sinus infection. So knock on wood bar illness and injury wih proper training I will do all 26.2 next Jan.

And then I may or may not make the week turnaround for the Tink. I am thoroughly addicted to Disney races. Though I want to know whose bright idea was it to move the Tink up a week?

I'm booking our room at Bay Lake Tower tomorrow for January! I can't wait!

Yep, I'm not so patiently waiting for my booking window to open, too. Still deciding on AKL Jambo or WLV -- my only two choices at this stage. It's never too early to get excited about a Disney race! :yay:

I will be booking tomorrow as well. BWV for us and maybe looking to switch to BLT at 7 month mark.

Is the booking that's opening for DVC points or for non-DVC people as well?

Kim, I think you can book now for non DVC people, they just charge you the highest 2012 rate and then adjust when pricing comes out or something like that. :confused3

I realized my booking window opened today and got in at AKV Jambo savanna view.

Got it! :thumbsup2 Thanks guys!! I think I'm just anxious, b/c when I was playing around w/ the resorts, I saw that the standard rooms at the new Animation Resort open 12/31, and I'm hoping to get in there if I can. The rooms look awesome. :cloud9:

I got my BLT reservation this morning! Woohoo! :cool1:

Me too! I'm not sure if we will be switching to another resort at the 7 month window or not. I love staying at Boardwalk for the location but BLT's one bedroom units are so much better with 2 full bathrooms!

Funny. I just booked BWV today and am thinking of changing to BLT at 7 months. I have read that transportation would be better from BLT than BW, but I much prefer the location of the boardwalk when we are going without our children. We pretty much go to Epcot and Hollywood Studios when it is adult only so we will probably stay with our BWV reservation.

And taking the monorail over to the race was SO convenient! :)

I was thinking about that too! The monorail will really come in handy on race morning.

With the reduced schedule of the monorail, I wouldn't be surprised if monorail service will be unavailable on race morning, at least until well after the start. According to the program, it isn't available for The Princess.

Since all of the Disney properties are host hotels, I would be surprised if they did not have early monorail service. It saves on bus transportation.
