Woo-woo! 1st non-Dis half is on the books!! 2:22-ish. (I accidentally paused my app for 4 minutes, so I'll have to wait until official results are posted to know the exact!) Wow - that was somethin'! REALLY cold at start, but not unbearable. Good run, but on a biking / running trail so kinda skinny at the start for all those people - a little hard to dodge around, even though they did have us line up by pace groups which probably helped a lot. I didn't take the headphones (Heather, I am also a rule-follower!) and I DID regret it. But, I made it through and there will be a MOST interesting race report on the blog, hopefully by tomorrow. There were some pieces of work out there!!!:rotfl2: But all the eavesdropping helped distract me!

So glad it's done and, no, I cannot ever see myself doing a full marathon! However, it did hit me somewhere along mile 7 that this very weekend last year, I was doing my first 5K - and now I've run my 2nd half-marathon. Go, me!

great work!

Just another reminder to PM me if you would like to be added to the 1st post of this thread on where people are staying!

Now I'm off to do 9 miles.....wow, that # seems so HUGE!

Time to dig deep!
Michele

I ran my first 10k this morning, the Wicked 10k in Virginia Beach. It was so much fun! The rain cleared out for the race but the wind was harsh. I train in the mountains so the flat course was great. I was hoping to finish in 1:20 and thought that would be pushing it but I finished in 1:15! To make this day even better, I just saw a pod of dolphins not 100 feet from the beach while sitting in my hotel room. I’m actually starting to feel ready for the Princess!

Im so proud of ME!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana:
Today I woke up early to go running but when I got out of my home i couldn't bare how cold it was. I got on my car and drove to my school to help with the tag sale. After lunch I went back home and it started snowing (yeah, snowing in October) My body was telling me to stay home and not go to run today. I had a small fight with myslef, got in the car and went to the gym to run. I did 3 miles in 43:20 (which are the fastest yet) and felt great. The Princess training asked for 2 miles today but I felt so good that I did one more. I know is not a big deal but for me is so important that I did what I was suppose to do. :dance3:

That is amazing, 2 half marathon in one year! congrats :rotfl:

10k run is done! PBR at 1:14:16 at the finish, so official should be a tad quicker as I started in the back. Thanks all for the good vibes! You warded off the rain! :-) 40 degrees is very chilly!
Good luck to all who are running this weekend! Amy hope you are running sans stroller!!

Great time!

I just found this thread, I will be running/walking the Princess half in Feb :yay:. I am so excited, it will be my first half marathon! I did the 5K in Disney last year, the energy was amazing. I have run more then 14 - 5K/8K's since then with a 10K 2 weeks, and none have had the same energy and Disney does. I will be doing the half alone, but I have more then 15 family and friends doing the 5K with me the day before!!!!:banana:

We will be staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, maybe we could arrange a quick meet and greet then, with luck i will find a running/walking partner!!

I think im running alone, my husband is still undecided. We will stay in the PO Riverside.

I've never run a race where all the runners follow the no headphones rules. I'm the person who is too scared to bring them because I'm a super rule follower, but usually regret it later.

I am a total rule follower too. Thankfully I don't normally take my iPod on runs with me anyway so it doesn't matter much to me.

Have a great race Amy.....take the headphones, every race says no headphones, even the Peachtree...which I am a rule breaker on that one...generally I am a rule follower. Even the princess says no headphones.

The princess actually says they suggest you don't use them but they are not prohibited.

I did my 9 today too!!

That is my 10k time too, we will be corral buddies. :thumbsup2

Race report up on my blog for my half today, if interested!:scared1:

Great report Amy...I laughed at your banter. Great race too. I think that run I would HAVE to have my music playing.....well I do have my intervals on my Ipod so I need it for that which is why I am the rule breaker. You can catch some funny stuff with the one ear in and one ear out! I can't believe that dude just let it out......so funny and talk about motivation! Thanks for sharing!

Great job Amy! Im surprised at the lack of costumes too!

Great finish time, your training is seriously showing in your results! Kudos to your little Trainer man!

Well, I guess I can consider myself a hard core runner now. My 4 miler race yesterday started out in the middle of a cow pasture:rotfl2: and raining! It was my second 4 miler race- and I ran in in 38.20-my last 4 miler was in July with a time of 42.25! Can't wait for my 10k in just 3 weeks. My 12 yr old son ran with me and finished in 39.10 and that's after competeing in a cross country race the day before- so proud of him and me.

Great recap. That trail looks similar to the trail I go for my long runs. I would be so bored without music, but at least you were entertained by other runners! Congrats on your second half, and a great time!

I have a 10K race scheduled for today, but we have 6 inches of snow on the ground and it is only 38 degrees right now.:scared1: I just received an email stating that the race is still on. What to do???? Run or stay home in my warm house???:confused3

Loved the whole blog! Priceless banter, priceless moments, great experience for the rest of us to read! Congrats on doing well with the race too. :yay:

2 miles done this morning in following Galloways plan. It is so much easier when you go back with the miles. Next week it goes up again!! All good! LOL!
Congrats on all the great races this weekend ladies!! You are all an awesome inspiration!

I think I have a Disney hangover! Getting up at 7 AM, driving 3 hours to Orlando, hitting 2 parks, and driving back in one day seems like a good idea at the time :) today I am feeling dehydrated and sluggish. Kicking myself for not getting princess ears for motivation. Hopefully I can find the energy to run 2 miles today!

I had a very crappy 2 mile run today. Today I am definitely questioning why I decided to do this.:confused3 I have a 5 mile run scheduled for next week. I hope it goes better. Good job to everyone else who had a good run this weekend.

Woo!!! Congrats!!

Yesterday was supposed to be 8 miles but the weather was *miserable*. It was about 40 and pouring. We managed 4.5 and gave up, soaked to the bone and freezing. Every once in a while running with an organized group has its downsides - like this weekend, it would have been MUCH better to go today. Oh well.

Next weekend is a half marathon for me, so I can consider it taper, right?
