I'm curious if anyone would be interested in ordering some custom WISH princess bondibands. They have lime green headbands (http://www.bondiband.com/products/Solid-Bright-Neon-Green-Wicking.html) and I was thinking it would be cute if there was the Tiara on it (http://www.bondiband.com/products/Princess-Tiara-%28pink-ink%29.html) with 'WISH Princess' below it.

Thoughts? Interest?
I'm not sure how much they would cost. Normally bondibands are $8, so I imagine it would be comparable. I can organize this if anyone is interested, but we have to have 12 for a custom order. Let me know!

Edited:
I'm going to start a list of people who are interested to better keep track of how many people are interested. Let me know if you are interested and your name isn't on the list!
Heather (Stichfan18)
Michele (Michele325)
Maria (Worfiedoodles)
Julie (SaySay)
Marty (mountaineer)
Barb (freepixie)

We're halfway to 12 bands!

I'm interested:)

I did it! I am officially registered! Holy cow I am really going to do this! Now to get the pain in my knee to stop. I go to the orthopedist next Thurs. I think it's just tendonitis. (I hope). So I've been trying to ice it a lot.

Yeah Colleen!!!!!!!!!!

Once 3 more people show an interest I'll email for more information about what the band will look like and price!

I updated the list with everyone who I saw was interested in the WISH bondiband. Let me know if you aren't on the list, or are interested. We need at least 12 for an order, but the more the merrier :)

I also have used the site referenced in another post as he charges only $12 per point vs. David's who charges $13 per point. However, I prefer to go onto another forum called m o u s e o w n e r s dot c o m (without the spaces). There is a section there you can look up for renters. Very nice people there too. I am renting in September at AKL for only $11 per point. I've seen some people go as low as $9 even.

Saving money is exciting, especially when it involves Disney!! :cheer2:

I used mouse owners.com and was able to rent for $10 point. DVC can be confusing, luckily my parents are members, so I was able to read through their documentation to figure out number of points I wanted. Think there was some helpful info on the website, so check it out but feel free to PM me with questions.

I'm not sure if I can post this here or not (so if it gets removed I totally understand)
There's a great points calculator at tagrel . com (without spaces). You put in the dates you want and check the resorts you hope to stay in and it tells you the number of points you need and it comes in a list so you can compare.

I looked at your links for the bondi bands and you can get a neon green with a pink tiara without having to make a custom order.(Never mind I see you wanted to add Wish Princess). I think they look neat but I have to run with a hat to keep the sun from bothering my eyes. I wear sunglasses too, but just have sensitive eyes.

Hey! I just signed up this past weekend for the Princess!! I was never a runner until after I had my 2nd son back in october. I started running in March with C25K and have become addicted. I'm so excited about doing the Princess half marathon. My dh and 2 boys will be coming down too.

For those who have done the race before question for yall. Dh really wants to bring the boys and be at the finish line. The boys will be 2 1/2 and 16 months old so not at a great age for dh to be able to get both boys on a bus and carry the stroller. We were thinking of staying at Bay Lake Towers. Will the monorail be running early enough that he'll be able to take that to Epcot? My goal is to finish in 3 hours if that matters.

I'm really excited that our group just went from 3 to 4! But...... that makes us slightly concerned about corral placement. None of us have run a 10k before and we probably won't be able to run in the same 10k (because of geographical distance and work schedules) so our 10k times will be different. We did not sign up as a team.

So, what happens if we all get placed in different corrals? We've all decided that time is not important, it will be finishing together and being together during the race. :grouphug:

Can we consolidate in a single corral if our group is split up?

You will all be able to start in the same corral, but if there is someone assigned to a slower corral, you will all have to start there.

For example, if 3 were assigned to corral A, and one was in D, everyone would have to start in D if you wanted to run together.

Hey, its Julie! ;) Welcome to the thread....I have a stroller for you.

The monorails were running and they do cart people back and forth so sh0uldn't be a problem..... but that being said I was solo last year so I don't know for sure.

Just wanted to say welcome!

I didn't think I could handle a 1/2 marathon distance until I actually ran my first 1/2 marathon. If you are already up to 5 1/2 miles with great time, there shouldn't be any reason you should have problems finishing the 1/2, aside from injury before the race. Once you start running longer on your long runs you'll gain confidence in your ability to finish 13 miles. I would definitely register before the price increases if you are sure you want to run. You can email proof of time after registering, so no worries if your 10k is after August 7th!

Thanks for the encouraging words, I'm definately going to register as soon as I get back from vacation next week:thumbsup2. My husband is doing the MS bike ride from St. Augustine to Daytona and back in October, so the Princess 1/2 marathon is my birthday gift to myself!

I apologize if this has already been clarified ... but I looked at host hotel prices ... and it says per person. If I paid that rate per person for my family (3 of us) ... I would be paying more than if we were going to Disney without having any involvement with the half marathon ... so could someone explain it to me? For some reason I've called at the same time for the past two nights (6:01 p.m. Texas time) and their office closed one minute earlier ....

Thanks!!

I would like to know this answer too. It seems cheaper to book directly through Disney without getting the "half marathon discount" .. but I might be confused about how it all works.

WELCOME! You know, I heard some time back years ago before I did my first half if you could do a 10K you can do a half, just takes the commitment to train smart to get up to that distance gradually. Hey, I have done 3 and I never thought I could do it, still surprises me! So my suggestion is find a training program you like and go for it - drink the Kool-aid and join us. The programs help you to not add to much distance too quickly.

Can you reccomend a good program? Should I start a training program for the 10k then once I complete that try a 1/2 marathon program? I've kinda just been winging it- I try and work out 4-5 times a week at my local YMCA with 3 days of running in between and my son and I do a jr runners club together every Saturday. I started just walk/run a mile till I could run the whole mile then gradually added distance. Since I'm already up to 5 1/2 miles would I start somewhere in the middle of the program or start from the begining ?

Thanks for all the help as you can see I'm still very new at this.

Most travel offerings are priced on double occupancy for advertising, it makes it look more enticing to offer $199 rather then $398. Depending on the age of the people staying in the room, there maybe a fee for the third person, or not, since this is a hotel only offering, more likely to not have an extra fee unless it is a 3rd adult.

If you were looking at an all inclusive offering, any extra person over two would normal have a fee to cover the food, activities etc.

Hi Amanda - I called Disney and the IRUN reps ---- it is a few dollars cheaper to go through the IRUN number. And the "per person" rate is truly per person ... so the marathon host hotel rates aren't really that much better!

But then I remember ... it's Disney ... and I LOVE Disney ...:smickey: and suddenly "it's just money" ....

I am an interval Galloway runner so I followed his program. Really you don't need to start your ramping up of miles until like September - well that is at least the Galloway program. Keep on doing what you are doing and ask on disboards of a good program if you don't want to follow Galloway. Some good programs I have heard thrown around are Hal Higdon, Jenny Hadfield, John Bingham. You can also google to see some example of training schedules and count back from the race. Oh and I am certainly no expert, but glad to help. Post a question and on the main boards WISH boards to see which program people recomend and why.

Happy training!

Just a reminder you can private message me to get your name on thE list which is located on post #1 of this thread!

I did it! I finally ran 2 miles without stopping. No walk breaks or stopping to stretch. Got it done in an 11:30 pace. This was one of my personal goals (I know it's little) but got it checked off the list! Finally in a great spot with good shoes/no shin splints/ lungs working right and I'm actually liking this thing called running!

Looking forward to my 5.5 miler on Sunday.... wait did I really just type that?
:cool1:

Way to go! Great job! :cheer2:

We were thinking of staying at Bay Lake Towers. Will the monorail be running early enough that he'll be able to take that to Epcot? My goal is to finish in 3 hours if that matters.

I'm counting on my DH and two young sons to travel to EPCOT via monorail. It starts at 8am from TTC (transportation and ticket center). They can take a monorail from the Contemporary to TTC and switch to the EPCOT. I think he'll manage just fine with the kids and a stroller! With a 5:45am start, he should be there in plenty of time. Good Luck!

PS - We too are staying at BLT--I'll check for passengers needing a ride as I pass through the lobby that am to my van. :grouphug: Unless I dont already have a roster at that point!
