Happy Independence Day Princesses!
My route to the race has take an abrupt halt. I've been working with a knee injury since a couple of weeks after Princess 2011 and finally the Sports Med Dr decided I needed to have an MRI. I have a meniscus tear with some minor tearing in the ACL of my left knee and am waiting for an appointment with a surgeon (July 18). I'll do what I can to keep in shape as best I can now and hope the recovery is as quick as my last meniscus surgery (ran a 5K about 5 weeks later). It has thrown off my plans for a fall half but I can deal with that! Now I'm looking forward to signing the whole Royal Meyer family (ok at least the female family) up for the race after noon tomorrow.

My BFF and I ran the Princess Half for the first time this year and had SO MUCH FUN that we immediately decided it's going to be an annual tradition from now on.

When registration opens at noon, I'm registering!
I bought new running shoes yesterday plus toe caps to help protect my second toes from the impact. My only lasting physical sign from this year's Princess Half (besides, of course, the glow of accomplishment!) was in how my second toenails grew out thickened after the soreness faded.
