Hello Princesses!

I have been MIA for awhile. I had a stress fracture in my foot and was in a boot for six weeks. It left me in a funk, but I am happy to say that I am running again and just completed my first 10K on Thursday!!!

I had a stress fracture in my shin last year and was in the boot, so I know how very irritating it can be.

So true! I did the Mickey's Halloween 5K in the boot. It was so hard to walk while everyone else got to run. :rotfl:

Just wanted to share for anyone else that has budget concerns. Clarion Inn Buena Vista has Cyber Monday rates of $45/night through March if you book today. I already had reservations here, but they changed my rates and I saved $137 for my stay. That will be a big help on our budget.
 
I made it through a 10 mile run yesterday. My shins are really hurtin today. I took it slow, did it in 2:07:03. Clearly I am not a Kenyan! :laughing: I did a 5 mi on Thanksgiving a lot faster than I thought I would, I think I am still hurting from that. Tomorrow I'm going to try a really slow 3 or maybe just take the day off all toghether. Only problem is then I won't be able to run again till the weekend.

You rock Colleen!!! I have 7 scheduled for this weekend and it will be my longest run to date. I am nervous and excited about it.

Thanks! You'll do great. After having done a 10K, adding 1 more mile is not too bad. After 10 I was really feeling it. I think I have reached the point where I really have to watch how much I add at a time.

Great Job!:thumbsup2 My time was 1:07 my first 10k. I think they are having another 10k at that same location new years day. Depending on the weather I may give it a shot. I am with you regarding mile 5. Ugh!

I saw someone running with a 2011 Princess Tshirt at the start. I couldn't believe that they didn't have either of the last 2 water stations! We'll be on our way to the Wonder for a MR cruise, so we won't be around for the NY's run. I hope they do a better job with the water! (Probably no pies for that one...)

What intervals are you doing? I have been doing straight running. I was kind of working off Hal Higdon's (sp?) plan. Only I haven't been doing the cross training days. I really need to work on my core strength. After yesterday I could really feel how my upper body slump was affecting my running.

Send an email to disneysports @ trackshack.com with the race name, distance, date, and your time. I also sent the link to the race results (which are posted on coolrunning .com). I got an auto response right away and the an acknowledgement from a person a day or two later.
 
Looking for some advice. I've been following the Galloway plan. I'm heading out for 3 days on the Dream Thursday and am suppose to run 7 miles on Saturday then next weekend I'm suppose to run 3 miles with my magic mile. Would it be ok to switch them? I would really rather spend my time on the ship with the fan and run more when I get home. Any thoughts?
 
I ran on the Dream and had a great running partner, at least one afternoon,

I loved running on deck 4, 2.5 laps = 1 mile. So 18 laps of hearing the ocean as you run the straights. I did 5 days of 2.5 -3mi over 10 days.

I don't post a lot, but, as I have said a few pages back, I am new to running and new to RunDisney! Loving the community feel.:lovestruc I am doing the Galloway (beginner) program. I started late (11/7/11) so I was a little dissappointed in myself when reading where everyone else was on thier long runs. Well, happy to say that I have caught up on the program and am also scheduled to do 7 miles this weekend!!:cool1: I never thought I would be excited about having to run 7 miles, but, like some others, I can't wait to see if I can do it!! :scared1: I have been thinking of you all and all your inspiring words as I push myself. Trying to stay injury free and enjoy the moment!! I figured out how to load "Move it Shake it" music to my ipod and can't wait to hear it today as I go out for a run. Thanks for sharing how to download this music. Definately my favorite parade at Disney right now. If anyone has any inspiring songs that really get them going, please share!! I am just slowly getting a playlist together for my training sessions. I "reward" myslef with 1 song after I do a run. I figure that by the princess I might have enough music to last the 13.1.
