Official 2012 Princess 1/2 marathon thread part 2

OK sorry that's SOOO big! Need to figure out how to make the pic smaller! I placed it that way so when I run I can look down at it!

I just use a Sharpie. It hurts a lot less. And Taylor Swift thought that she was so original...:cool1:

I just engrave those words into my brain, and they change far too often for me. I'd run out of arm!

My race outfit (I had a short and long sleeve made)

This is the front logo (my husband is a designer) it is a mix of my last name and my sister-in-laws last name,we have matching outfits.

This is the back logo on the shirt. The 27 is my sis' favorite # and well you guys know what Dig Deep is for me. The CJK with angel wings is my mother-in-law that passed from cancer. She will be "running with us" now....

I see you are a west coaster like me. We will be nice and tired! I've never gone for a 13 mile run at 3am, you?

We get there Friday, so we'll be well rested. I never feel the time difference traveling to the South. Heading back to the left coast will totally mess up my internal clock!

I do all of my long runs starting early in the morning. The only difference will be that it should be warmer and there will be a lot more people out and about than I usually see on my runs! I normally only scare up the odd cat, skunk, or deer, and they aren't much fun to talk with.

QUOTE=StarGirl11;43975112]For the veterans here how fast does the course usually play. I didn't get too much of a good idea when I attempted the full last month because I was coming off of an illness that took me out of training for three weeks and was unable to finish but I am coming into this one strong, very strong. Hoping to shatter my old PR strong (which was set over a hilly course). So I am just curious how flat and or fast you guys would say the course is.[/QUOTE]

I think this is an easy course since there are really no hills. My experience with half marathons is just three and they were all at Disney. Hopefully you has an early corral (A or B) because that would help a lot. I have run a PR in each one of my Disney races, but I do not stop for pics and just run run run!
Good luck and have fun!
Pam

WE are in corral e which is fine with me. I'm an "M" and got my email on Tuesday but signed up the first possible day so maybe that's it?

My last long is postponed until Monday (was planned for today- but the teacher I've been subbing for (for the last 3 weeks) won't be back now until Monday so that's the day. The track is too busy after school or on weekends so I'm heading out Monday to git r done! then coasting (I mean tapering) because when it's done I have less than a week until I leave Woo Hoo!!

Nice outfit~

There is ONE character that I want to look for. Since everyone is pretty much at the same mile markers every year, can you vets tell me where I can find Elvis Stitch?

NICE shirt and tutu!!! Very cute. :)

Elvis Stitch- before MK but after the race cars. I can't remember exact- but mile 4-5ish. Near the Poly (though I confess I never realized we were running near the Poly... LOL!)

ETA: looks like mile 4!

Hard to believe we are just a 18 days away:scared1: Loving all the costumes!:thumbsup2
I am not going the costume route but I did have a shirt designed to wear b4 and after the race- it will feature Belle and the Beast and the caption says " A Belle at Heart but A Beast when I Run!" My DH and DS have nicked named me the beast since taking on this venture of running a half marathon. I'm nervous and excited- especially since I'm still nursing my right foot-haven't been able to run since Saturday's 6 miler where I limped-walked the last mile or so. I just want to be healed enough to run and enjoy the whole experience. Hugs to all who are nursing inuries and praying the rest stay injury free- see you all soon!

I read on here that a few people have in the past and are planning to walk to the race start from the POFQ. My Mom and I would sure love to meet up with anybody doing that and walk over together! It's our first Princess Half - sooooo excited!

Elvis Stitch wasn't there last year, just regular stitch (who's still awesome). He was with Lilo in the Magic Kingdom parking lot.

I did last year's Princess when I was still living on the West Coast (since then I've moved to the East coast). It wasn't too bad as long you get to bed early enough the night before. My worst part was that I stayed up till about 1AM the next morning, but I did sleep on the plane ride home!

Thanks for the Stitch info, that's my favorite character!

Ok ladies....let's talk sports bras. I've had plain cotton bras that I've trained in short runs with but don't know how they'll "hold up" during a 1/2 marathon. I'm not large-chested by any means (full B) but I want to make sure I'm comfy without spending too much. Any suggestions???
