I was in coral A, started maybe 10 feet from the front of the pack, and the first mile was a bit packed. It is like that for almost every half I've done. You always have people starting slower than they should for where they line up and having a turn so close to the start (within the first mile) doesn't help because too many people pinch over while making the turn.
The roads are wide though and it didn't take too long to get through the crowds and get into your normal pace for the first 5K of the race.
It used to be on the waiver up next to the number, have they removed it?
The A runners experience with crowds and the C runners experience is very different... As well it should be. It is still a lot of people with some very narrow spots.. Starting at the front and running a fast pace is much eaiser than thrying to come from the back to post a fast time.
It isn't on the waiver. Only the number is on there.
The Lion King Broadway CD...we went to see Lion King 3D last weekend and I've been listening to that CD all week!
Some of my races I walk/jog, but for the most part I walk the whole thing and chat with different people along the way - it's a ton of fun pulling each other along to the finish.
), but I feel bad being near the front and interrupting the runners that may be in the corral.
