I'm putting in a change of shoes, some baby wipes, my car keys and glucometer. Maybe a t-shirt to change into. But I plan on going right back to the resort and showering and putting on real clothes as soon as I can. With it being so warm, I'm going to be a 'glistening' mess.

Help! I went to print off my waiver and for some reason it's showing me as a size large t-shirt.

Anyone who has run this before- how hard is it to exchange tshirts based on size??? I'm freaking- I should have picked Medium (and I swear I thought I did!).

Help!?

I'm not checking a bag- mom is my bag check. But I would check an extra water bottle, something to snack on (incase I don't like what they have), tissues because my nose always runs when I run and that's about it. I'm also planning on heading back to the resort right away.

What time do you plan to cross the finish? I think you will have plenty of time to get back before 11. Assuming you cross at 9--that would give you more than enough time.

As for a back-up plan, you can always do all of your packing the night before, and basically check-out when you leave for the race. Have Bell Services store your luggage (THAT they will definitely do.) Leave a small bag out with clean clothes and toiletries and just shower in the locker rooms. Not ideal, but it takes the time pressure off if that is really stressing you.

If it was me, I would assume that you will have no trouble getting back well before 11.

Good luck! And don't worry, this race is gonna be a blast!

I am hoping to finish in 2:30+/- 5 minutes depending on how long the lines are for character pictures. I'm most likely in coral B, so I anticipate being done before 9.
I've stayed at the BWV twice before, but am not familiar with the locker rooms. Are they in the health club? I'll pack the night before, but will want a shower for sure. Thanks for the back up plan if the transportation back to the BWV after the race takes longer than planned!

those are good thoughts - i think i'm going to skip the bag check. once i finish this thing i don't think i'll be of sound mind to wait for my bag! haha. i plan on heading straight for the bus and into the shower at my hotel! since i have to be checked out by 11 i don't think i'll have alot of time to waste!

The good news is that these run a full size off. So if you normally wear a medium, then the Large will be perfect. (Based on last year, anyway.) The instructions say that you cannot change at the desk where you pick your shirt and goody bags, but there are often other runners hanging around seeing if anyone wants to swap.

Then last week I cracked a wisdom tooth. I thought for sure I was out of the race. My dentist checked it and says I'm fine. The oral surgeon can't see me until Monday after the race and they say I'm fine. Just take ibuprofen to manage any discomfort and run the race. Now the warmer temps. ugh. Like someone else mentioned, the cooler temps are best for me. I love running in 40-50 degrees. 60's and sunny are gonna be brutal. The race is here, I just wish my head were in the game.

Glad you found us -- and your massage therapist! ;)

Just try not to clench your jaw while running. Owie!

I think the atmosphere of the day and the surroundings will probably be great distractions for most of what ails each of us.

Wishing you a great race!!! :goodvibes

Thanks for the info! I hope it will work. Normally I actually wear a small so we'll see how it fits. I don't like to wear workout clothes too big- I like them more fitted. I guess I can see how it goes :headache:

I'm thinking that Disney may have known the shirts run small and adjusted the sizes. I am pretty sure that I selected Small, and mine shows Medium. My sisters both chose Medium, and theirs both says Large.

Does anyone have any experience with the Royal Family 5K? Do they do a bag check there? The DH and I are running it for the first time this year, and wasn't sure if I needed to wear my SpiBelt to keep up with our stuff, or if we'd be able to check it. Also, my DH's planning to wear a throw away jacket if it's cool enough to need one that morning--does the 5K work the same with throwing clothes away? I don't want him to leave something if that's not the norm! Thanks!

I think that happened to mine too. I always get small race shirts, but mine says medium too.

Did anyone else see the post on facebook about the Princess Dooney and Bourke line that will be available for 25% off this weekend? I want one!

For the previous two 5K's I did with runDisney, they had a bag check. If you receive a bag when you pick up your bib, you'll know there is a bag check.

I found the sizing fine. Last year they gave everyone a size up and said they were mismarked. Well, the large is big and when I got home and compared it to my medium from 2009 I found that there was no way they were mismarked. The large is bigger then my medium. The large is a large and the medium I ordered and got in 2009 fits just fine. I think they did change sizing as mine says large on my waiver and based on the fact I order a medium in 2009 and liked it and they gave me a large in 2010 and it's big, I doubt I would have ordered a large.

Good luck with trying to find a smaller size. The shirt is really cute IMO.

PACKING HINT!!
If there is a *particular* gel or shot block or whatever that you use, BRING IT with you!! Though they will have some choices at the expo, it will depend on which vendors are there and what brands and flavors they bring. For me, since I'm picky about some of the brands, I will bring my own, at least to have as a backup.
All my race stuff will come in my carry on, so put your gels in your 3-1-1 bag, for the TSA. Shot blocks and powerbars and clif bars do not need to be in the 3-1-1 bag.

I hope the sizing on the shirts is good...if not, someone's going to get lucky because I will give them mine if it doesn't fit! :goodvibes

Totally scored on the perfect race accessory today. I am not planning on dressing up, but was maybe going to wear a little tiara. Well, today, I found a lovely ponytail holder with a fairly good sized rhinestone tiara built in. So if you see a girl in a pink tank top, probably black running skirt, long brown ponytail with a rhinestone tiara in the ponytail holder, that's me. :)

I got something like that a while back too and LOVE it! I thought it was the perfect alternative to wearing an actual tiara...which I know would have really gotten on my nerves during the run. I'll have it up in a brown ponytail too...but our outfits are opposite...I have a black top and pink skirt. :cutie:

so glad someone brought up the shirts. I was freaking out that I got a large. I didn't remember ordering a large. Now it all seems clear.

I was not planning on tapering as my training plan didn't call for it and it only goes to 10 miles. But I went and got girly last Thur with my new eyelash extensions. BTW very princessy. After my hour visit and boocoo $$$ the stylist tells me that I can't get them wet for 48 hours. Specificly no running or showering. Argggg. So I did not get my long run in this week. I was hoping to do 12. I have a very physical job and work 12.5 hours a day + commute so no time to do one until Thur AM. I'm thinking that this is too close to the race and that I should just do 5, but really want to get in one last run.

Any thoughts?

Oh, the good news is I did 10 last week. So I have done the longest run on my training plan but really wanted to only have 1 extra mile on race day.

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about the ChEAR Squad...specifically the reserved area at the Castle for those that bought the Gold Package? My family will be there and I was wondering if that area is set up on one side or both sides of the course...would like to at least know where to look and maybe even get a high-five if I can get close enough, but I'd need to know what side I should be on before hand. :confused3
