Coach thanks for your advice on my room. I think the fact I have been recovering actively from Plantar Faciitis has me a little scared to commit to something....but I am making the res! Its too good a rate not to hold. Do you have any advice for training with the foot issue. I haven't been to my podiatrist since initial diagnosis in April and I know if its starts to bother me I need to see a doctor, just looking for your advice on training. Right now Week 8 on C25k. I will do a Galloway program to prepare for the 1/2....as I add on miles I am nervous, but know I just need to be very conservative. I think the fact i am in "active recovery" is amazing, in the past I would have used ANY excuse not to exercise....

I stretch religiously after each run and another time during the day.....runner's stretch, flex foot with towel stretch and ankle alphbet rolls. I am thinking of doing a Yogalattes class in addtion to my running to help strengthen my body and stretch out. Any advice from to you help me is appreciated.

I know you aren't a doctor, just looking for advice you can give runner to runner. Really appreciate your encouragement and all the posts you do!

Laurie~I was curious what the song was too. I had to go listen to it. Love it! It's really something how emotional running can be. Only runners really get it.

Running is something I never thought I could do, and I can't believe the sense of accomplishment it brings. I still remember my first 5K race. You'd think I had run a marathon. Seeing that clock and running across the finish line was amazing. And now, I have an 11 mile run under my belt, I can't believe it.

EXACTLY!!! I just read the lyrics again just now and I choked up at my desk at the office for pete's sake. This is something that we do for ourselves and no one else. Sniff. Sniff.

:thumbsup2

Speaking of rates....I made my room res at the I run phone number. doing that u can't add dinning.
If I were to book without the I run discount it would be $300 more. That's crazy
How have u booked?

I snagged a room with a AAA rate just to get it. When we go down first week of December I am hoping to change it to bounceback. If not that, an AP holder's rate.

Yes, but I literally slept in a Holiday Inn Express last night....... No seriously ;)

With PF some relief can be had rolling a tennis ball under the fooy (like a foam roller on muscle). Rolling a can of frozen juice under the area is a great post run activity. The last thing I can recommend is wearing still soled shoes and slippers, especially when rolling out of bed. The tendons are healing through the night and the first thing we do is hit the tendon hard as we hit the floor and walk to the bath, coffee or to get the paper. Slip your foot in a stiff soled slipper and it will not stress the tendon quite as much.

:rotfl2: Some of our commercials have just gotten out of hand...but glad that you stayed at one of my company hotels. :) I hope it was one of the newly relaunched ones.

Your advice does really help regardless...

Maybe you know Coach...what happens to all those extra medals for those that didn't finish? I saw a ton of DL Half Marathons on eBay. I for one, would never sell any of my medals! They are much too valuable.

Just made a res at the Swan! So excited....my SIL works for Starwood so its a rate too good to pass.

I had my 28 min run today...fall is in the air and it was AMAZING. A personal best pace wise....12:19. Not that I am into speed, it is just crazy how when I add time on to my runs I am getting faster. Couch to 5K I love you! When I started the program I was at a 14 plus change pace and looking at my week by week activity, I am slowly getting faster. LOVE IT. Feeling good too!

Coach, thanks for the tips. I need to be better about icing after exercise! I put my Birkenstocks on EVERY morning before I get out of bed.

Could use and would appreciate good thoughts for my run tonight. The only running I've done in eight days is last Saturday's race, after which I was very, very, very much in pain!

5 miles at 10:27. No pain, tiny bit sore. I have been applying ice and Arnicare cream, and the knee seems to want to run!

Great Job,:worship:

I did not feel running tonight, I did not go to speedtraining, instead I just walked 2.5 with a friend.
My 15K is getting closer, I have to get it together.

Has anyone answered you question about Team in Training yet? I am participating in my fourth season with them right now. In order to get a website to fundraise you need to contact your local chapter. Not every chapter goes to the Princess. Mine does the races in January.

I think that all of the chapters in Florida will do that race though.

I just signed up for a 5K Saturday. I haven't officially done a race in 2 years and I am getting nervous thinking about my half. I think it will be good for me getting a race in before then.

But.....this pushes my long run to Sunday again. I don't think I should run a 5K in the morning and try to get my 11-12 mile run in later in the day.

You could just keep running after you hit the finish line.
