Is there a way to combine registration for the 5k and the half marathon? Just wondering if it would make the processing fee any cheaper to combine the two?

I just tried the FIREWORKS code and it said it had expired.

The only discounts they are offering this time around are the early registration ones. So, no discounts for running both. You only get a discount if you run in a team vs. single runners.

Count me in!!!!

Except....I have no idea what I am doing.

I feel your pain. I am trying to figure this all out, too! It can be a bit overwhelming - what training program to use, where to run, what to eat, where to log progress ... and so much more. This seems like a great place to be for support, motivation and answers to questions.

Where in WI are you? I am in the southeast corner.

This will be my first Princess and I see on registration it states that runners will recieve the Official Jeff Galloway Training Program. Do they offer that every year and can anyone explain exactly what it is. :yay:

I'd like to know as well. I emailed them asking what this was and all I was told was that it will be sent out when it is ready in 6-8 weeks. I asked specifically if it was an online or electronic item or the book. No response was given.

It's probably just the Galloway Training plan mileage program (like what mileage to do each week for training). My suspicion is that it will be online.

I am part of a Galloway Training group and we got a training book and a log book when we joined.

This was not offered last year that I know of, although I registered late enough that it wouldn't have helped!

I'm in. All registered.

I'm a bit worried that 13 miles might be too ambitious. The most we do now is 4 miles. But, you guys have given me confidence. Based on the comments on this thread, I know we can all do this!

I feel the same way. My longest run to date is 4.5, but I generally average about 3 miles. That is a far cry from 13.1, but I just keep telling myself I have plenty of time to build up to that once the weather starts cooling down.

I will be 36 years old, and I've never been athletic.

I have never been athletic either. I was the girl forging my own notes to get out of running the mile in Jr high. LoL I am really looking forward to the challenge and being able to say "I did that".

After my run this morning, I was bored and decided o browse some apps on my i-touch. Just curious to know if anyone has downloaded any of the c25k apps? Would love to get your opinions on them and it it's with the money?

I used C210k to start running, actually, and loved it. I jumped off the program a little too early (around week 11 of 13), but it really was very helpful.

Jeter02,

If you like mild techno and house music. It's not hardcore what you would find in an arerobics class DJSteve Boy of Podrunners has some a podcast that coordinates with the weekly run schedule for C25K . The series goes all the way to 10k. It helped me this pass winter when I needed serious motivation.

I have the C25K app on my iPhone, and love it! When I tried the plan before I had my phone, I had to use a stopwatch to keep up with my time. Having this app is awesome since I don't have to do anything but listen for the cues. I also like that I can add my own music, which really helps a lot! It also keeps up with your progress and knows which runs you've completed. I'd say that it's definitely worth the money just for the ease of it!

Did you use the one from cool running....I see that one and couch to 5k

Hmmmm...I'm not sure. I just did a search in the App Store for C25K. The icon is a green circle with a little running stick figure. When I go to the app, it says it's powered by Run Helper. I don't know if that helps you or not, but I'm really not sure. I have the same app for the 10K also...it's called Bridge to 10K, or B210K.

I have the C25K for my I tunes. The music is okay. Its nice that all I have to do is listen to the cues.

Can you tell me what kind of cues are given? I am so unsure with all of the gadgets. I thought I wanted to get a Garmin 305 but am wondering if an app for my i-phone will do what the garmin can do. Any advice?
