we can all cry together!!!

note to self: get a pair of sunglasses so it's not so obvious that i'm bawling while i'm running!

I always wear sunglasses (blue eyes) so no one will know the better with me ;)

Where is everyone planning to stay? My friend and I are currently at AS Music but are looking to change. I'm curious what resort would be easiest to get back to post race.

My mom and I are staying at POR.

is anyone visiting WDW before the race? i will be there in sept, dec, and january (i know, i'm spoiled...we bought a DVC contract that had extra banked points that we had to use).

DH and I were suppose to go in Dec for our 10th anni, but unfortunately his grandpa passed away a couple of weeks ago so we have unexpected expenses for him to go out to Ca so we have to cancel.

Who is all coming in of Friday the 25th?

I know Nancy and Meredith are traveling solo as well as me.
Maybe we can make a dinner ressie for Friday night?

I plan to do the Expo friday when I get there, I don't know what time yet, I'm hopeing for better air rates

I'm coming in sometime Friday too. I'm hoping early. I want to go to the expo first thing to get that all out of the way. I just have to see what flight I can get.

since i'll be there during prime training, i should really run while i'm there, right? usually we walk a TON (used a pedometer once and we did 12 miles most days). maybe i won't do a long run?

i'm staying at bcv in sept, ssr in dec and treehouses in jan. anyone know where to run there?

DH and I are going for the Halloween 5K on Oct. 2nd, and our whole family is going for the 10 days after Thanksgiving. Obviously the first trip I won't worry about any training, but we're staying at AKL-Kidani Village in December so I hope to find time to use the treadmill in the fitness center.

My DH and I will more than likely be driving down that Friday, and hope to be there by early afternoon.

We'll be coming in the 25th since our plan as of right now is just the 5K on Saturday. If my knees hold up (working on strengthening them and focusing more on walking for now) and I can get the distance in before registration closes I might decide on the 1/2 instead though.

We will have to exchange cell #'s and meet up.

Great idea!

Not sure when my BFF and I will arrive. Hope to get tickets for Friday morning but it all depends on availability when we purchase.

I sounds like a lot of us hope to get in on Friday.
Do you want to book and ADR to have it in place? We can always cancel if flight and travel times do not work out.

As for where to meet for dinner Friday, I am opend for advice. I have only been to WDW 2 times and both with my family so the only ADR I know is ones with mickey and friends.

I would rather not have the ADR in a park as most of us want to do the Expo first.

Any Suggestions?

O'Hana? It accommodates a lot of people, although it isn't terribly vegetarian friendly.

Cape May Clam Bake is good, too, or something in DTD (Raglan Rd).

I have never been to any of them.

They all sound good.

Cape May is on the boardwalk right? That sounds good

but DTD woud be good to, dinner and shopping!!!:rolleyes1

I'll be arriving on Friday. My extended family will be traveling with me, but I may say, "Look, you guys have me for the next seven days. You can give me up for one dinner."

I would suggest a restaurant in Downtown Disney. It can be difficult to get to some resort restaurants if you're relying on WDW transportation. It's not a table service restaurant, but Wolfgang Puck Express might be a good spot for a meet. Reasonably priced, some healthier options, and you don't need an ADR (just a bit of patience, sometimes). A more casual gathering would save anyone from being responsible for making an ADR and worrying about how many people are coming this far in advance.

Full disclosure: I'm really hungry right now and my very first thought was "Wolfgang Puck Express- mac and cheese! Creme brulee! Drool."

cape may cafe is at the beach club and is SO good. it's not all seafood but most of it is.

speaking of sunglasses - are there running sunglasses? i have regular sunglasses but they are always fogging up. running is quickly becoming an expensive hobby!

Yummmm that is what I had when I went there. I plan on going to DTD that day so somewhere there would be good for me.

Yes, I'll be there solo and I'm definitely up for a meet on Friday night! I'm coming in on Thursday and plan to hit the expo Friday morning. I'm doing the 5K on Saturday, so I wanted to get the Expo out of the way early.

I've never been to Wolfgang Puck's and I agree it would probably be easier to do something that doesn't require an ADR. Then again, I could be up for an 'official' ADR too. Whatever the group decides! I'm easy... :thumbsup2

You are doing both the 5k and the half? I thought about it but decided that coming in on Friday I would feel too rushed.

Are there many of you doing both?

Yeah, I'm doing both. Maybe that was a dumb idea, but I wanted to participate in both. I suppose I could always decide otherwise once I get there. I knew that I probably could finish the 5K even if something happened to prevent me from finishing the half (if my MS flares up or some other such unforseen event) and at least I'd come away with one medal.

It's my version of pre-emptive planning. ;)

you are the woman! two races in two days! what's next?? goofy challenge!!??? you go girl!

Um....not likely. There's a big difference in 3+13 and 13+26! :lmao:

But, I figured I might as well give it a shot! Besides, I'd probably be walking a lot more than that just touring the park that morning anyway...
