I just registered for the 1/2!!!

Once your register you get a discount code for park tickets
2 day park hopper $129.93 each
3 day park hopper $170.40 each

Are those the only discounts? Can you get a discount on the non parkhopper or longer ticket? I'm holding off until August to register to spread out deposits some (Just paid the cruise deposit)

Hi all. Well I am (almost) officially in. I just need to register. I mentioned going down to a couple of friends, and everyone kept saying we should make it a girls weekend. So far three others have committed with one more likely to go! I'm so excited to have a girls weekend with friends.

As for the OT of going to WDW the first week of Sept, I agree that it is one of the best weeks to be at the world. We went three years in a row before dd started school. Dh and I even went alone for 3 nights a couple of years ago before dd3 was born. I love that it is walk on for most attractions. Dh and I walked on to Soarin' 3 times in a row. It's still really hot, but it doesn't seem to bother me as much since we are not waiting in lines long or battling crowds.

Does anyone know how insane it is at DL over Labor day? I'm thinking of doing the coast to coast in '11 and may bring the family even if we have to miss a day or two of school. I would just hate to spend all that money to fly us all out there if it is crazy crowded. Plus we have a big WDW trip planned for Nov '11 for dd2 and dd3s b-day. If it's very busy, dh and I may just go for a couple of days.

I'm so excited about the Princess. I'm trying to figure out my training schedule as I'm doing my first sprint tri at the end of Aug. I may add more running to my swim days to get the extra miles in.

Oh yea. How do most of you that live north train for a winter race? I hate the thought of running all those miles on a treadmill, but there may not be many other options since it gets so cold and snowy here in Chicago. It is hard to run on packed ice!

Do spectators have to have a park ticket to watch us from within the parks?

I'm pretty sure it's just Cast Members who can be spectators, but I could be totally wrong. I know it's that way for Wine & Dine.

Either way, park tickets are inapplicable because the entirety of the race happens before any parks open.

they give you a code for park tickets, I am sure you can get non hopper or longer, but I only asked the rate for 2-3 days

Anyone can be a spectator before the parks open. After they do, you must have a ticket.

I am in Chicago Suburbs. I started training in Dec and I spent Dec-March on my DREADMILL in my basement, I just kept telling myself its only for a few months.

Also thanks to all you posters about going to WDW in early Sept.
in 09 we went the end of Sept, 1st Oct and it was packed.
We are planning a big trip in Fall 2012 for DD5bday (as we did with our oldest)
Its great to know about the low crowed right after labor day.
Thank you.

I live in the Moline, IL area and I ran outside for most of the winter last year and never had a problem. I bundled up with layers and hit the streets. I refuse to use the treadmill unless I really have to. There were weeks when that dang thing wasn't even turned on. Running outside in the winter will beat cabin fever hands down! I also have a pair of Yaktrax but never had the chance to use them as the pavement was too bare.

Can you only get the discount for tickets for race participants or can you get additional discounted tickets for your "cheer squad." :)

FYI, I spent a long time on the phone with Disney Endurance yesterday regarding my Wine & Dine tickets... both my 40% pin code and free dining were about $150 better than any discounts they had to offer me.

I think it would be for the whole group, I am not bringing my DH or kids but I did price it out with the coming with and its was still at the discounted price.

You can still do the WDW Half Marathon in January and get it with the Disney Princess. I just wanted to make it a lot more difficult! Plus, I am from the west coast, so it was a good excuse to see my favorite part of the country. Believe me, I am not thrilled about flying from Atlanta to L.A. I would rather be able to drive.

Really? I thought you had to do one in Disneyland and one in Disney World to get Coast to Coast? :confused3

January was really slow when I was in College Program. No waits anywhere! I think any of us would rather be sitting in a DVC or any other Disney hotel room than at work any day! IF money was no object, I know I would be driving right now!

The last week in Jan is slow, but the rest has filled up. MLK, and Marathon weekend. Last week in Jan is our other time to go. :)

Unless you're a slowbie like me. :) Epcot was open when I finished the Princess.

I went to college in Galesburg!

I am a big old wuss when it comes to outside weather, and will take refuge in the treadmill for short runs when it is over 90 or under 50.

If the park is open while you're still running, can you pick up a fastpass on the way to the finish line? :D

Altogether now...It's A Small World After All... Knox College or Carl Sandberg?

:rotfl:

I have no idea, I was too busy trying to get to the end! Actually, you just loop around the main area of Epcot - entrance to the mickey/minnie at the beginning of world showcase and back.

Haha! Knox.

I called 407wdwirun and the discounted tixs are for the whole party. It saves me more than the price of the race reg.

Park hours are posted and MK opens @ 8am that morning. This seems crazy.

No. That is the irony of it all. I could have just stayed on the east coast. You can do either the WDW Marathon/Half Marathon, Princess or Disneyland Half. 2011 is your year! :cool1:

Nope, they make sure you stay on that path. :( But, it would be better if we finished in MK - those are all the rides I would be most interested in getting Fastpasses for! ;)

As far as ticket discounts - you can get them for everyone in your party. :woohoo:

Nice. I'm so glad you posted this. What about resort discounts?

This is what I need to do - make it a Girls Weekend. I've kept my new "training" a secret from almost everyone. Won't they be surprised when I ask them if they want to walk or run a half marathon with me
