That's nothing. By 9am, I had already found a cure for cancer, discovered 3 new species of aquatic mammals, translated the missing half of the Rosetta Stone, and had breakfast with the Most Interesting Man in the World. :rotfl:
This sounds like a day from Phineas and Ferb.:lmao: I wasn't trying to be snarky. I was just pointing out that different people have different schedules.

In other words, you were still dreaming too? ;)

I'm pretty run-of-the-mill I'm afraid. I've dropped my kids off at school and worked an hour by 9am. I haven't even made it through my first Mt Dew yet. :lmao:

One day I'll be productive. Hopefully sometime soon...
Mt Dew...gross! Give me some good old Coke. Dh teases me that I'm a coke addict. I am, just not the illegal kind.

You're awake for 21 and a half hours every day?
Sometimes. :( I work the graveyard shift, and then I need to stay up with my kids during the day while dh works. Right now he is on 10-6. By the time he gets home and gets changed, it is 7:30. Sometimes he works 8:30-4:30, but then he goes to his second job until midnight. He leaves that one about 10 minutes early so that I can get to work on time. (3 minute commute.) I try to take a nap during the day if the kids do, but there are days that they don't. The other day my oldest was sick and didn't get to sleep until around 8:30, and I fell asleep around 9pm. So yes, there are many days that I get 2 1/2 - 3 hours of sleep. I try to average around 3 at night and a 2 hour nap during the day, but sometimes the kids don't cooperate. We can't afford day care, and my dh took a very very large pay cut. You do what you have to do.

Ah, but was there Dos Equis involved? Because that would make it all worth it.

um....so today's run sucked :(

in fact, all my runs this week have sucked. i haven't felt good or strong running even the 2 miler i did a few days ago.

i ran 7 miles today and it came to an 11:18 min/mile pace. i guess it's actually not a bad time but i'm telling you i felt like poo the whole time.

i think my problem is nutrition. i've been eating very poorly lately and i have no idea how to go about eating before and during my running. nothing seems to feel right. empty stomach, a small banana before, a piece of toast with peanut butter...nothing. then during the run i can't figure out the whole sip-water-and-don't-trip thing. after i sip some water i get a side stitch.

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

That's a fantastic run. Funny, I did a 4 miler the other day (Tuesday? I dunno, this week has sucked for my training) at 11:18, as well.

I'm hoping tonight goes better. I've only run 8 miles this week, and would like to do 6 tonight and 6 tomorrow, so I can make it 20.

hey amy - i think my pace is deceiving - i felt like total poo the whole time. i don't mind that pace and in fact i'd be delighted if i could keep that pace for 13.1 miles. but to feel as bad as i did, blech.

6 miles two days in a row? shoo! you GO girl!! knock it out!!

Breakfast was GREAT wasn't it

THE most Interesting Man

By 9am I had been awake for 9 1/2 hours, already worked my full-time job, had fed and dressed my 2 kids (ages 3 and 15 months), started babysitting my 18 month old godson, and was on the road to take my oldest to preschool. And at that point, I would be awake for another 12 hours. Ugh, I hate my schedule.

Sending you hugs with that schedule

I've been lurking for a while, but I would like to officially join the group. I just started running in January, with my goal being the Princess Half. I have done two 5Ks, and I have a 10K coming up in a couple of weeks.

I signed up for the Princess last night. I made my flight and room reservations this morning, and I also booked the Keys to the Kingdom tour. I have always wanted to do this tour, but never have during our family trips because it's for ages 16+.

My college friend and I are meeting in Orlando, staying at ASSports, and doing the tour together. She's doing the race as well, but she will finish way before me. At least I will have someone waiting for me at the finish line!

We plan to arrive early afternoon Friday and hit the expo. We'll do the tour Sat. morning and then take it easy. Race Sun AM, and then do whatever we feel like doing. We head home on Monday.

I am so excited. Now I have huge motivation to make it! I look forward to working toward this goal with all of you!

Welcome! Great job on your running! Awesome goal to help motivate you...running in the Happiest Place on Earth!!!

Welcome!

I need to start looking at airfares. Sounds like we are on the same schedule for the weekend. Its going to be a great race.

*bumps thread*

I joined a gym this weekend so that I can't wimp out on runs because of the weather. It has a pool AND a jacuzzi. :worship:

Ran 6 miles along the Hudson yesterday. Came close to running to the GW Bridge, but decided to stop short and go to the gym instead after I ran. Biked 5 miles and swam laps.

Gyms are necessary sometimes! I belong to the local Y, and I had to run inside today because my kids are out of school, and you have to stay in the building if your kids are in the youth room. It killed me to run on the treadmill because it is beautiful today, but I am glad I could still get my run in. I know there will be some days during the winter when I have to hit the treadmill, but I hope they won't be a regular thing (I won't have as much snow as you will). Enjoy your new membership!

I got in 12 miles on Sunday in addition to selling beads to the Phillies and Eagles fans this weekend as part of my TNT fundraising. Everytime I get up from my desk I wonder why I'm sore until I remember that I practially did a half marathon yesterday!

I have been lacking motivation.... doing all this on my own was ok to start with but as time rocks on and it takes longer to do runs, it gets really hard to keep going....hence....skipped my Sat 9miler to sleep in. BUT, got up this morning.....made plane reservations and room reservations at POFQ....arriving on Thurs out on Tuesday....I believe in taking my time LOL!! THEN did my 9miles! It was awesome, as usual!! Cant wait to see all of you there!
