Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

Hello everyone, my wife and I have already bought our MNSSHP tickets for 9/23. This is our first Halloween party and we are really excited!!! We always hit the Christmas party every year and have heard that this one is a must do for die hard "mouse-heads".

We are expecting our first child now so Cristy will be about 19 weeks pregnant for this trip... as a matter of fact our last trip to Disney was about 19 weeks ago LOL ;) Can't wait to pick up some special event merchandise and have pictures taken with our fav's in costume.

So who is dressing up? Any ideas for weather friendly costumes? :confused3

Everyone signs up for when they are going and what they will be wearing so we can look for each other, like a scavenger hunt! Sounds like fun! I am dressing up as Fifer Pig and my DCuz is going as the Big Bad Wolf!! 18 MORE DAYS!!!!! :dance3:

Found this post over on the Walt Disney World for Grownups site..

Talks about where things might be located with the closure of Toontown. Sorry for posting if someone else already has. Didn't know if I could post a link or no so..here is the post. Easily googled if you want to read it on your own.

Guests who are heading out to this year's Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom can expect a few changes thanks to the closing of Mickey's Toontown Fair.
Most of the changes appear to center around the location of certain characters. Frontierland will take on some of the costume-clad characters, including Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Frontierland will also be the site of Br'er Rabbit's Candy Patch, the newly moved and reimagined Treat Trail that could be found in Toontown.
More beloved characters can be found in the Town Square Theater. This is where you can find Mickey and Minnie plus the Disney Princesses all decked out in their Halloween finest and ready to greet guests. In addition, Winnie the Pooh plus friends and Duffy the Disney Bear are expected to be outside the theater near the flagpole.
The closing of Toontown also means the closing of the face painting station in that area; the station used to be free during MNSSHP.
Guests can also be on the lookout for changes in the Disney's Villains Mix & Mingle show. It looks like there are new songs (one being a song used in the Disneyland Tokyo parade!) and new costumes.

Hey everyone! Great thread with a lot of good info. My family and I are heading down in early October for our first MNSSHP and I did have one question I could not find an answer to:

In the character meet and greets with the villians and princesses, do you have to choose one character's line and get in it? Or is there multiple characters there (say 3 or 4) but it is kind of a grab bag as to who you get, but you get to see all of them once you make it to the front of the line (kind of how the princesses and fairies used to be in Toontown)?

I ask because these two meet and greets have a good numbers of characters, as opposed to some meet and greet areas with only one or two characters. I am just trying to get a feel for how tough it may be to get my two daughters in to see the princesses and their respective princes.

I was hoping some MNSSHP veterans might be able to shed some light on the topic!!

Thanks alot!

I can speak to the former. The villians will perform a show at the castle stage and immediately following, come down the ramps and spread out in front of the crowd at ground level. A line will form in front of each of them and you can go from line to line picking and choosing who you want to catch a picture with. The villians don't sign, but make some great poses. The night we were there, it was Maleficent on the far right and in no particular order, Cruella, Jafar, Queen of Hearts, the Evil Queen, and now I am drawing a blank. But 6 or 7 of them and the lines were only a few minutes each, but got longer as guests realized what was happening. Grab the biggies first. It helps to be seated close to the front during the show to get the most photo ops. Princesses anyone?

Do you think Monday night/ Columbus day will be packed? We have the option of going another night that week too. Just wanted to check before I purchase the tix. :)

It's usually the weekend and days leading up TO Columbus Day that are busier than normal, not Columbus Day itself. On a 3 day weekend, many use the actual holiday to travel back home. Expect the preceding Friday party to be really busy, and for the parks to be busier that weekend.

I think lots of folks in the Northeast get that day off. Not so much here in the midwest. The kids don't even get out of school here for it.

I know 2 years ago I was on a Disney cruise that seemed to be busier than normal and lots of MAW kids on it. Parks didn't really seem that bad to me.

My understanding is that they are not allowed. The following guidelines were included with the tickets that we purchased - costumes should not:

  • obstruct the guest's view or interfere in their ability to board/unload from attractions and/or the WDW Resort transportation system.
  • Drag on the ground.
  • Contain sharp or pointed objects or material that may accidentally strike another guest
  • Be offensive to other guests.
  • Contain any weapons which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.

Thank you! That's just what I needed to know.

Hello everyone. So me and my family will be at MNSSHP on Sept 20th. We are soo excited. Its our first time going and we are looking forward to the fun. Me and my kids will all be in costume save for my DH who refuses. I'm trying to get him to atleast wear a halloween disney shirt.. We shall see. Glad to join you all for the festivities.

For your DH, check out cafepress.com

My 'costume' is a t-shirt that says "Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult".
They had quite a few along those lines. Not technically a costume, but at least in the spirit of things. Might be a good compromise.

Has anyone ever attended the final night of MNSSHP? We are going Nov 1 and just wonder what the crowds, excitement level, etc are.
