Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

Has anyone ever attended the final night of MNSSHP? We are going Nov 1 and just wonder what the crowds, excitement level, etc are.

We are also going this night! I originally chose this night thinking it would be much less crowded than the 31st but the more I read on here the more wrong I realized I was :rolleyes1 Oh, well, that is our last night there and I figured that was the best way to end our trip! We have an early evening flight out the next day so I figured we can sleep late and head to DTD for a couple hours before we have to be back to head to the airport!

Do you have a costume yet? I am waiting for them to come out at our Party City, I am hoping to just find something there that will be okay!

For your DH, check out cafepress.com

My 'costume' is a t-shirt that says "Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult".
They had quite a few along those lines. Not technically a costume, but at least in the spirit of things. Might be a good compromise.

Thanks for the suggestion that sounds great. Maybe I'll surprise him and get one before the trip.
:)

Isn't Gaston dead, lol Zombie Gaston. :lmao: I wonder what he'd say if I asked him how he survived that massive fall from the top of the castle...

I'm sad that Hades may not be there :(

Well in that same vein, Beast shouldn't be a beast anymore either, but he is often portrayed as one in the parks.

Also, not related to Beauty and the Beast, but my daughter really loves Aladdin (well actually Jasmine) and we watch the Retun of Jafar on occasion. It really bothers me that Genie has his bracelets on in this movie. At the end of Aladdin he loses them because they represent shackles from when he was a slave.

We will be there November 1, can't wait! I have crowd anxiety (yes yes, a terrible thing for a disney fan) and I went to last years sold out party on Nov 1. For those of you first timers concerned about crowds, let me tell you, take a deep breath, it's not as bad as you're imagining. As everyone has already said, yes the parade and fireworks are crowded. However, it's a crowd of people in costume and high spirits, so it's good people watching.

We went to the 8:15 parade, main street was packed but my darling boyfriend compromised and watched the parade from Frontierland where it started. fewer crowds, even managed to find a seat.

Since the boyfriend compromised for the parade, i compromised for fireworks and stood in the middle of main street. That was the most crowded part of the evening, and was well worth it. The fireworks that night were the best i have ever seen at Disney and I can't wait to go back and brave the crowd again.

As for the rest of the night, trick or treating is a blast, we walked onto every ride in the park, and i 100% recommend wearing a costume. I went as Snow White and the boyfriend went as the Mad Hatter and the CM's repeatedly chastised my boyfriend for stealing me away from prince charming. very cute, very fun, took pictures with all of the other snow whites I ran into, had a blast.

This year we'll be dressed as Tinkerbell and Rufio, if you see us feel free to say hi!

November 1st is a Tuesday this year, Halloween falls on a Monday, though I'm not sure what kind of an impact, if any, that would make.

Which means it was on a Monday last year and still sold out.

:headache: ooh my heart hurts from over thinking and overstressing. Ive bene a silent reader until now, and Ive got to admit .. Ive got anxiety that I cant shake about this trip coming up.

Not only is it my and my dd 9 ... first every MNSSHP ... we are also bringing a non Disney lover with us so her daughter who happens to love Disney as much as my daughter and I do ... can come along. (longgggg story... her mom wouldnt send her with us) ...

so im stressing the weather, the crowds, making sure everything is in line with the moons and stars (i kid i kid) ... I feel the butterflies in my stomach when i start to obsess about my trip and I wish I could just **wooosaaahh** and relax.!.

Oct 10th and 11th are my MNSSHP days i bought tickets for. As of right now im not doing a costume. my daughter will when she decides on something finally... as long as it doesnt rain on our parade (no pun intended) ... I pray we will be fine.

If your friend hates it maybe she will be happy to hang out by the pool while you and the girls enjoy the parks? :goodvibes

Another November 1st partier here! I thought I was so clever, choosing the last night/not Halloween AND a Tuesday and now I read that it usually sells out. Oh, well. I know we will still have fun! It's all about managed expectations, and I'm so thankful for threads like this were I can see party reports and go in with a plan.

I can relate to you stressing over everything! I've played out my trip 1,000 times in my head. Can't wait to get on the road one week from today. I can also relate to being a single parent, though my DD is now 30!! :scared1: It's nice of you to make the extra effort to bring a friend for your DD. I was an only child too! and it is more fun when you have another kid w/you! I hope you get along w/her mother........:rolleyes1

BUT - You REALLY should dress up!!! All of you! or at least you and the kids!!! Here is a thread where everyone is signing up for what night they are going and what they will be wearing!!:

Are you driving all the way from WA state? We live by Tacoma and it was 3000 miles or so from our house to WDW. You are certainly braver than we are.:thumbsup2

That's a looooooong way. :scared1: We won't even drive from Texas, but there are only 3 of us so we actually save money by flying. (which is in 8 days, so here goes:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:)

Hey everyone! Great thread with a lot of good info. My family and I are heading down in early October for our first MNSSHP and I did have one question I could not find an answer to:

In the character meet and greets with the villians and princesses, do you have to choose one character's line and get in it? Or is there multiple characters there (say 3 or 4) but it is kind of a grab bag as to who you get, but you get to see all of them once you make it to the front of the line (kind of how the princesses and fairies used to be in Toontown)?

I ask because these two meet and greets have a good numbers of characters, as opposed to some meet and greet areas with only one or two characters. I am just trying to get a feel for how tough it may be to get my two daughters in to see the princesses and their respective princes.

I was hoping some MNSSHP veterans might be able to shed some light on the topic!!

Thanks alot!

Hi all! I've been quietly following this thread for a while now, because I will be making my first trip to WDW (and the MNSSHP) in the first week of October, and I too am interested in how they manage the Princess meet-and-greet during the MNSSHP in the Town Square Theater. It would be terrible to have to stand in a separate line for each of the three princesses (with their princes?!?), given that there are so many other great characters in the park to meet that night. Based on past years (or the current system for the Princess meet-and-greet in TST), can anyone relay their experiences?

I am also afraid that one night at the MNSSHP will not be enough to meet all the characters I want to meet, as well as view the parade, fireworks, and Villains show. On the one hand, 5 hours seems like a long time, but if wait times for characters can potentially eat up most of that time, I wonder if I should just bite the bullet and go to 2 nights of MNSSHP. I know that a good game plan is key, but I will freely admit that I have a pretty long list of characters that I want to meet!

If it helps, here's our plan (we're 1st timers, too). We get into the park at 4pm with party ticket and get the kids' hair-dos done at Main Street Barbershop. From 4-7 is regular stuff like rides and early dinner at a counter service joint. On my list of must do's for the party are the fireworks/parade, HM with ghost greater out front, some trick or treat stations, and pictures with the villians. The rest of the party is what the kids want to do. I figure during the rest of my vacation, I can get pictures with most everyone else.

Went to a sold out MVMCP last year.. so I guess I know what to expect with MNSSHP on Nov. 1st. I'm really looking forward to this party.. it looks like so much fun! :)

I plan to get in line before the party starts to see Rapunzel and Flynn .. then head on over to the Diamond Horseshoe for the Dance Party or is that something that goes on all night and can wait?

TIA! :)

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY GOOD PHOTOS OF THE CHARACTERS ALONE AT THE PARTY? I am making an autograph book for my dd and would love some great shots. I've been googling like crazy LOL

Another Nov. 1 MNSSHP attendee here! It's the first day of our vacation...we get in the night before. We're very excited.

I haven't read through this entire thread, but we've been to the party once before. My costume was really easy...I went as a Mouseketeer. All I did was wear a white turtleneck (thankfully it wasn't too hot out) with my name in black block letters like on the old t.v. show. Got me some Mickey ears and that was my costume. It was really fun and easy. The cast members all greeted me by name, too, which was great. :)

Greetings fellow Washingtonians! Yes, I am driving. I love driving! I HATE flying. I've driven WA-VA lots of times. The country is one big highway w/a McDonald's and a Cracker Barrel at every exit. :rotfl: This time I'm driving WA - PA to see my DD, then to VA to pick up my DCuz. Then the 2 of us are going to WDW and then back to VA. Then I will drive back to WA before the snow!! :)

Hey!

This will be my fifth party but my first party where I actually wear a costume. :)

I am going to be a witch. It's just a black dress with a witch hat. I can't decide what to wear on my feet. I have short (ankle height) black boots and I also have black flip flops (comfort). Will the boots be too hot for October? Would you just go with the flip flops? I don't want to buy new shoes. I don't own any other witchy black shoes. No flats or anything. Only high heel black shoes.

Thanks! :goodvibes
