Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

I have immensely enjoyed reading this forum and cannot wait to get to MNSSHP in October!

I wanted people's opinions -
Taking weather into consideration I have looked at some of the shorter princess dresses. Usually these are meant to be more risqué, but I would not wear them as such. I would choose to wear ballet flats vs. heels and cover up what needed to be covered. Assuming I kept it appropriate, do people think the length is weird? The princess dresses are usually long, but thinking those might get hot.

Here are some examples -

Thanks in advance!

No, I think those are adorable!

I have really enjoyed the pictures! More - more pictures of costumes please!!That Mickey looked hot.

I have been trying to get a Big Bad Wolf costume together for my DCuz and could NOT find any read or green pants. I finally thought - take a pair of old or cheap white pants and DYE them! I have found red and green suspenders on ebay. There is a wolf hat I will buy on ebay when I get paid and then I think I will try a little face paint. Oh I will buy white gloves on e-bay.

For my Fifer Pig costume. I bought a light weight pair of pink pants and a gauze black shirt that I could wear again sometime. Pig ears/nose/tail from ebay. Sailor hat $5 on ebay. I still need a white Buster Brown collar and big yellow bow. I have the fife.

I'm trying to keep the cost down and the costumes light and airy.

OMG OMG OMG OMG IT's AUGUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel like running around in circles like little kids do when they're excited!!!!!!!!!!!! Only 1month and 12 days until the 1st MNSSHP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really like the short Princess costumes and I think they'd be adorable with some flats!

I love that we are all concerned about hot our costumes will be in Sept & October while all those cast members are wearing those bulky hot costumes in July & August

This would be our first MNSSHP and I'm wondering - with the ticket that allows admission at 4pm, is that in lieu of a regular all-day ticket? In other words, with two young kids I don't want to add park hoppers to our regular tickets, so could we spend the morning at another park and then come to MK at 4?

Thanks!

Yes, that is exactly how it works!

Sure could! The party ticket is your admission. Although most people with children say that they take a restful day off on the party day so they can stay until the end.

That's exactly what we are doing. No park hopper this year. We are doing AK in the morning and then going back to the hotel for a break and then plan to get to MK as close to 4 as possible.

I plan on going as maid Cinderella... and mainly because I can wear all the pieces of my costume separately... This is my idea:

I LOVE this dress, it's so versatile, I'll definitely wear it again and again, I love the purple one I own!

So it'll be the dress as the skirt, topped with a white apron; for the top I will year a blue tshirt underneath a brown tank top.

Now I know Cinderelly's skirt is a tad bit lighter than the top of her dress, but the second lightest thing to the brown is the nude colour (in the picture below).... should I just go for the brown? or will the nude look better?

Thanks StitchSpawn and 4littleones.

Haha - good point 4littleones

Could someone clarify about the merchandise - it is just on sale duing the party?

Also, will the shops stay open a half hour to hour after the party - like they usually do after the official park closing time?

We are driving to Orlando and will arrive very late evening on a Sat, and plan to attend the our first MNSSHP on Sun. Originally I was planning on staying offsite as we will be spending the rest of the week elsewhere, however, after speaking with DH we were wondering if it would be better to stay on site the Sat night? I am thinking if we stay onsite on the Saturday, then check out on the Sunday we can play in the pool during the day of the party and then get ready to go to the party. Take the transportation to the party from the hotel and then once we leave the party return for our car back at the hotel and be on our way. Can we do this? I think we can, but just want to be sure that we aren't breaking any rules. :confused3

Yes, you can do that. You can leave your car in the parking lot after you check out for the day, I do it all the time and have never gotten in trouble. I wouldn't leave it there all week :goodvibes but one day is fine. A lot of people go to the parks the day they check out and leave their car until they come back.

Yes, you can do it, but I would recommend driving to the party so your car is closer to get in and go afterward. Since you'll be staying on site, you will not have to pay to park in the MK lot.

I haven't made up my mind yet which day I'm going. Since my arrival day is Sept. 20th I could go that night or go on the 23rd.

I'm leaning towards being flexible since I'm going solo and maybe going both nights.

Then I've got to figure out costumes. I'll be flying so space is going to be a big issue. That will mean my big Belle dress will not be one of my choices this year.

I was thinking woodland fairy but the wings would be another problem. I'd have to buy small ones if I can even find the right colors.

Or I could go as a hippie. I have everything for that - bright tie dye t-shirt, headband and hippie necklace.

Or I could hit the costume trunk at my house and see if my Indian outfit still fit from a couple of years ago. I've got a short version of the Evil Queen outfit in the trunk too. But as I recall the crown disappeared on me at some point.

Aack. So many choices......

:woohoo: Yay, just bought DBF's and my tickets to the September 16th party! It will be our first MNSSHP! Can't wait!

What is this!?! What is this!?!

I see pins!

I'm a big pin fan! Comments on other comments:

1. I loved the short versions of the princess. I think they are family friendly :thumbsup2

2. I want to see a picture of you as Hades! :scared1:

3. GA fan I love your ideas but, considering you're flying, I'll vote for the hippie costume as it is easy to pack and colorful and fun. IMHO

4. Stich's Spawn you crack me up! I can just see you running around in circles like an excited puppy!!!
