Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

Our group will be there on Oct. 25! Just have to decide what to be!!! DGD has 2 costumes to choose from, I have 3 but don't want to be any of those...maybe I'll take them all and decide depending on what the weather is going to be like that day. I have been when its cold and boiling hot....hummmm????????:grouphug:

:woohoo: Yay, just bought DBF's and my tickets to the September 16th party! It will be our first MNSSHP! Can't wait!

Gonna love it  It is the sole reason we are going back to WDW this year. We are going Sept 13th which happens to be my youngest's 9th B-Day :woohoo:

Djblu, we're going the same night. Let me know how you're going to dress and maybe we'll spot each other!

Yes, you can do it, but I would recommend driving to the party so your car is closer to get in and go afterward. Since you'll be staying on site, you will not have to pay to park in the MK lot.

The MK parking lot is the TTC parking lot, there isn't anything closer, so would it really be better to drive there? They'd have to take the monorail to MK then, which, in the current situation, might be iffy.

Has anyone ever attended the party on the day after Halloween? The Nov 1 party? What are the crowds like? I'm also looking at the party dates during the week of Oct 8 to the 15th, what would the crowds be like then? I'm still planing things out so any info would be helpful.

The Hubby & I will be doing the first party sept 13. It will be our second MNSSHP! Still working on costumes...

I haven't made up my mind yet which day I'm going. Since my arrival day is Sept. 20th I could go that night or go on the 23rd.

I'm leaning towards being flexible since I'm going solo and maybe going both nights.

Then I've got to figure out costumes. I'll be flying so space is going to be a big issue. That will mean my big Belle dress will not be one of my choices this year.

I was thinking woodland fairy but the wings would be another problem. I'd have to buy small ones if I can even find the right colors.

Or I could go as a hippie. I have everything for that - bright tie dye t-shirt, headband and hippie necklace.

Or I could hit the costume trunk at my house and see if my Indian outfit still fit from a couple of years ago. I've got a short version of the Evil Queen outfit in the trunk too. But as I recall the crown disappeared on me at some point.

Aack. So many choices......

we are going both the 20th and 23rd:cool1:, as far as my cotume I am going as a Seattle Mariner baseball player:cool1:. I am still trying to convince my DS and his DGF to dress up,maybe they will just wear t shirts?:goodvibes

I'm going on the 23rd September, I'm at a loss as to what to do for Fancy dress, I have an ariel costume, which will need some tinkering to put right, (I.e. attach bra to bodysuit to make it more acceptable and the skirt/tail will need adjusting to make it comfy to get in and out of ride vehicles. I have it from a concert I did where I sang "Part of your World")

Any other ideas? I'm open to anything! :rotfl:

Depends on where they are staying. Lines for buses can be long at the end of the night and buses can make more than one stop. At least at TTC parking lot, it's one boat or monorail and they are at their vehicle.

Group costume ideas have changed, so now I'm unsure what to do. As a contingency plan I can always cobble together a decent pirate costume, but I was hoping to do something less generic. I'd prefer to do something Disney-centric, but the options are so much more limited when trying to dress for the weather.

As generic (and wide spread) as the pirate costume is..one of the benefits is that it accounts well for the weather.

They're cool (if it's hot) but can be quickly added to (without losing the spirit of the costume) if it cools down a lot during party night. Not too many other options offer that kind of flexibility while maintaining "immersion"....especially for guys (the girls can do princess costumes and just add a shawl).

Got my tickets for September 23rd, SO EXCITED!!! It'll be a first MNSSHP for both me and DBF, so I'm snooping for a few tips:

- Both DBF and I are allergic to chocolate: how much of the candy given out is non-chocolate? Just curious in case we'd like a sugar fix :goodvibes

- After seeing the comments about dressing like Disney characters.......I'm starting to rethink my peasant dress Belle idea. Anyone want to share their experience dressing VERY closely like a Disney character? Don't want to be confusing any kids. (For the record, DBF will be Indiana Jones :thumbsup2 )

Our first MNSSHP! Three little girls don't know yet! Very excited! We will be there from Oct 19-24th. What day would be the best to go? Thursday? Friday? Or Sunday? Would Friday be the most crowded?

Thanks much!

I dunno if maybe you all can help. If so, that would be most fabulous.

So, hubby and I need (semi) cheap costumes that are comfy to wear. We were thinking on playing on the Hipster Ariel meme, and were gonna go as Hipster Ariel and Eric. Problem is, I can't seem to find an adult Ariel wig. Everything I've found has been for kids.

Ideally something like this http://img2.ranker.com/user_node_img/6398/1000135841/300/hipster-ariel-in-real-life-photo-u1.jpg

but any help would be appreciated.

You could get a very fair colored wig and just dye it blazing red. Or there is also this site which does custom color orders on some of their wigs. This one looks neat as is!
