I agree the medal does look neat. I'm Just a bad judge on size. But it looks like it could be a little small.

I would guess 'significantly' smaller.... or the ribbon is 3-4" wide

Wow. I really like this one! It kind of emcompasses old DL with the big D, plus it's a little of the past DL medal with the castle. I think I like it better than the castles, and I'll be able to tell the difference from the past ones.

If they have a copy of it in San Diego this weekend, I'll come back and let you guys know how it looks Monday.

Thanks for the ride update on HM that weekend! Last year I think it closed after Thursday night. Now we can ride it that weekend, well at least through Saturday!

I really like the new medal!!! But just the slightest twinge of disappointment because I just loved the other DL medal with the huge castle and was looking forward to hanging it on my wall...oh well! At least this one still incorporates the castle, and I do like the retro "D". I also really like the hanging mechanism (or whatever it's called) they used. I know they designed last year's 5th anniversary medal that way too and BF and I both thought it looked so much nicer that way than the normal hook type of hanger that they used before. I wish they would find a way to hang more of their medals like this.

I really like the medal but am surprised that there is no hint of Mickey (that I can see) on it. I don't care if it is big or small, the Disney Medals are always great and I haven't been disappointed yet.

The only thing I am worried about now is if there will be a heat wave for this race. The weather has been really crazy! I know that you couldn't pay me to run outside these days...between the heat and the Orange Air Quality warnings, it isn't a good situation for anyone training.

Ohh, I hope they do have it in SD! I'd love to see it in person.

No - but it really hasn't been around that long. I love the design of the C2C and hope that it doesn't ever change. If it does, they have to keep the Partners Statue incorporated somehow.

Run Disney apparently used the old Disneyland Hostess/Ambassador pin as their inspiration for the new half marathon medal.

Can't wait to go !! our first trip to DL and will be surprising our boys with the trip. My DH will be getting the CTC and the whole family will be getting the 5k medal plus 1 kid (the only one young enough) will be getting a kids race medal.

Plus, my flight just dropped $150 per person. Can't wait to figure out where will will go on that money !!

RunDisney had a booth at today's San Diego Rock 'n' Roll Expo. All the medals were out, including our coveted Disneyland 1/2. I got to see it, in person, and feel it. It's heavy!!!!! It's gorgeous!!! It will be mine..ours!

RunDisney had a booth at today's San Diego Rock 'n' Roll Expo. All the medals were out, including our coveted Disneyland 1/2. I got to see it, in person, and feel it. It's heavy!!!!! It's gorgeous!!! It will be mine..ours!

Yep, I saw it too. It's very nice!! It's bigger than it looks in the picture.

I also asked about the Tink medal and was told that it will be Tink's wings with a Tink in the middle that spins! Sounds cool and knowing Disney it will be awesome!

How did you do in the race? I finished in 2:47:36. 45 seconds faster than my last 1/2 Marathon.

I think they send out emails and we can get our waivers in August. We just download the waivers and bring them to the expo.

Hi all.

Just a quick note to let people know mycokerewards.com is giving away free tickets to Six Flags. I won my pair of tickets today. I enjoy roller coasters so adding a side trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain was in the plans for my trip. BTW, if you look at the rules and go to rule 5c there is a link for a free entry that you can use up to 5 times a day.

Otherwise plans and training are almost done. I still need to book my final 2 night hotel and buy my DL tickets. I'm up to 8 miles last Friday.

Does anyone know how long (date wise) we have to purchase twilight tickets? I know when I attended a conference near DL there was a set time limit and if you didn’t purchase them by that date- you were out to luck. I was out of luck then- I am trying not to miss the deadline this time too!!

I think you can go until August sometime at least. Not sure when the exact cutoff is though.

I am signed up for the Vegas race too. Should be fun. I am just getting started on my training for DL. so far so good.
