Torres swam a semi this morning (their tonight). I don't know when the final is--probably tomorrow. It is the 50M freestyle.

That's a bummer about the primetime. I was holding my eyes open with toothpicks so I could watch last night. I was jealous thinking about the west coast (I know you're in mtn time) and thinking how early it was out there and how lucky they didn't have to stay up so late.

Yes, I've hit spoilers just about everywhere. I guess I should just sit and watch and not be on the internet.

Oh well, Vancouver next Olympics - better timezone advantage! We're hoping to go, still kicking myself for not going to Salt Lake.

I cannot stand NBC's primetime coverage. It's jingoistic nature is nauseating.

backstroke swimmers - the young ones - some start learning by trying to 'follow' a line on the ceiling - but that doesn't work in all pools - it also helps if they keep their shoulders square in the water - as they get better - they can "sense" where they are

Hope somebody can answer this and it hasn't already been asked. I missed the overall women's gymnastic's last night and just got in from work. I thought there were suppose to be 3 women from the USA compete. I could be wrong though. Anyway what happened to the third one? Thanks.

If it's like the individual apparatus events, then each country can only have 2 gymnasts compete. I might be wrong, but I'd think the all-around would be the same way. Also, I really don't know who else from the US team could've done it...Bridget Sloan only did vault in the team competition, Sam Peszek and Chellsie Memmel are both injured, and Alicia Sacramone, well, I guess she could've but after her mistakes in the team competition I doubt she'd have qualified.

Maximum 2 from each team in the all around.

In the idividual events I believe it is highest 8 scorers, no more than 2 per team (I think). I think the scores come from the team competition night, they said (commentators) Alicia will be able to compete on the vault.

OK, I think someone mentioned beach volleyball before and how they don't really like it...I have to say it is so amusing. The music they play, the American announcer...last night they were even doing the wave. Oh yes, and I think I saw a few people in the stands wearing bikinis too. It's so tacky. But I love it!

We're having a hard time believing they're actually playing in China when it's like they took a little piece of California and dropped it right there.

that deep sand is hard to more around in quickly....we played some 4 man it was fun

Thanks, right now they're showing us 2 and a half men insted of the olympic live feed. Very odd, that's what they showed last night when you were watching volleyball.
