Offical Watch FDP Value Upgrade To SSR-OKW

Last year we were lucky enough to receive a free upgrade to SSR from a value resort (ASMusic). This was during free dinning for the last week of August over Labor Day.

I hope this happens again this year.........I believe we read it on the boards around June 6, 2007. If anyone hears anything about upgrades please post it here.

That would be great if it happened again. I'm hoping the same thing will happen in Dec. I'm staying at CSR in Dec and it's suppose to be going under some rehab. I'd love a one bedroom at either OKW or SSR.

Did you get bumped up before or during check-in? WDW overbooks rooms and will flag certain reservations for upgrades if everyone shows up. I heard about a family that got bumped from POP to Contemporary MK view- how cool! It's kind of random though but it doesn't hurt to ask during check-in, espcecially during busy season. Please don't expect it though

They actually gave Studio's, not 1 BR. It was very nice and would have slept 3-4 (had a loveseat sized sofa bed and a bed).

We received an email on June 7, 2007 that informed us that we were chosen for the free upgrade, we had to choose from two places and chose SSR.

I got bumped up 2 months ahead of time. I never got an email but i read on the boards that other people where getting them. I called and the CM said I had the upgrade attached to my name!

Some people got 1bedrooms, some got 2bedrooms and others got studios. I called too late and got a studio! It was fine with me!

No my trip was not already paid off because we weren't at the 45 day mark yet!

Considering SSR is close to selling out, and with the points current AKV purchasers are getting to use at SSR, I would think the free upgrades won't happen this year.

I also had the upgrade to SSR last August. From reading the boards it seemed that many people were upgraded from POP. But I believe it was due to over booking at all the values, we were at ASMU. We never heard for sure, but we assumed they were trying to free up value rooms for FDP.

Rumour has it it was a computer glitch that had allowed the values to be overbooked( at least that was what several different cms had told me) I wouldn't count on it happening again, and even if it did there is no guarantee that because you were selected as a "lucky" person last year, that you would be selected again.

Oh, upgrade Gods for free dining ....Let me be upgraded to Poly!! Okay, yeah I know the chances are slim to none, but I think I would do cartwheels down my street...

Yes, we booked directly with Disney and with a Disney Visa on the first day it came out. I have no idea how they chose who got the upgrade.

Mine was, not sure about everyone else's trip.

It was also our very first WDW trip, I don't know if that factored in or not!
