Offical free dining watch 2008

One question...

If the Free Dining is offered through 9/27 and I am booked 9/27-10/4 will I be eligible for the promotion based on the dates alone?

As soon as it is confirmed the DIS will have the information.

If you go to type in a website or name and you get ******** then that site is in the word filter on the DIS. That means they aren't allowed to be mentioned.

If you spell out the name and put spaces or type replace the dot with a . that is considered to be bypassing the word filter. That can result in an infraction with points. When it doubt ask a moderator.

just curious, but why aren't those sites allowed?

Ok heres a question, if yu have a res. made with dining plan does it have to be cancelled and rebooked with the free dining or will they just modify it accordingly?

The owner of the DIS and the webmasters have determined that the names in the filter deserve to be there. It may be for conducting or promoting their business, etc. We aren't told the reasons. But their names are added to the word filter.

EGADS! Sorry safetymom.

I see that you edited my post, so I will leave it as it stands - sorry I didnt realize I should not of done that (although, in hindsight, it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that by spelling out the dot I was circumnavigating the site filter, and that was wrong - DOH!)

So sorry.

If/when FD is offered, are there a certain number of 'spots' available? Is it possible that if you don't call ASAP, you will not be able to use this offer? TIA! :) Here's to hoping!:goodvibes

Anmyone know about AAA discount and FD?? Do you have to go thru your AAA TA??

TIA!

Someone gave an update this morning on another thread that a CM said that free dining will be released to Disney Visa holders on April 7 and generall public April 10. This is what we are all expecting, but I wanted to post that a CM told a DISer this on the phone. :thumbsup2

Here is the link to the post: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1735192&page=39
See post #578

And now we have PROOF that CM's read the DIS. LOL!

Now personally last year I found out from what I consider a "relaible" source before anything on the DIS besides these boards was saying it by listening to the WDWRadio podcast. The guy there interviewed a TA who had DETAILS.

Haven't checked yesterday's podcast yet, but last weekend he had nothing. He has great sources and is not a "rumor monger" going off of "CRO CMs" or "bus drivers" (Both have been proven to be useless.... IF I had dollar for every "panic" on here because a CRO CM said "No AP' No whatever followed two days later by the release of the discount, I would be RICH!!!) If they tell you the next day then MAYBE they are working from FACTS, but Disney marketing tells the CMs NADA (for good reason) I mean in the past 24 hours we have one CRO CM saying yes and one saying no!!! And guess what ONE of them will be right!!!!! (Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then!)

Hate to deliver more bad news... but I spoke with a CM today, and she also said that FD wasn't going to be offered this year. She was aware it was offered in the past, and also was familiar with the bounceback promotion...

She was reluctant to tell me the news, but she seemed fairly certain.

I know this might be bad news for many, but just remember... it was just a CM. Although, I would trust her more than the other rumors we've heard. :confused3

In my experience, too many CMs are misinformed (or not informed at all) and like to sound like they know what they are talking about...I, for one, am not believing they are not going to offer it until I hear it from the horses mouth. :flower3:

No matter what you will have to call and have your reservation changed. It is only a limited amount. And it is sounding like the last day for free dining is the last day. and those staying longer won't get it. But on one knows for sure at this point.

I can vouge for this opinion. Today I ended up calling 3 times before I got someone who knew what I was talking about. All I was trying to do was put in a request for specific area at CSR during our dates. Nothing serious. I knew they don't guarantee, but others have said it would be a good thing to try on Disboards. I ended up all over the place before someone FINALLY knew what they were talking about. She also said there would be a "special" going on during our stay but couldn't go into details. I did wonder if it had something to do with the FDDP:idea:

Ok, so I have my brother and sister in law ready to go at the same time as us if free dining happens. I am hoping this is the case, my girls would love to have their niece and nephew on the trip. So come on free dining. 6 days is too long!!!

So there needs to be a new reservation done to get the new dining??? Does it have to be done in a different resort or can it be the exact same resv. that i have.. i wasn't aware that i had to cancel it and make a new one.
